Green pumpkin zoom ol' monster, Texas rigged with a 1/4 ounce bullet weight, and a 5/0 red ewg gammie.
  2. Does a bear fart in the forest?
  3. Thanks. Why isn't 1/3 a more popular weight?
  4. Seems like a good idea. I would love to be able to listen to "Set the Hook with Pat Rose" on the water.
  5. I read that review but wanted to hear from someone who has used it more often. Just want to see how it is after heavier use.
  6. Does anyone know the exact weight?
  7. So has any one used this?
  8. Same specs but has saltwater parts. It's what I used to learn a baitcaster and still works great. I love it.
  9. Thanks for the links. Abu actually makes two Blue Maxs. The one for the UK that you posted a link for and one that they sell at Academy. http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_772053_-1__?color=6'6%22+M&N=78002124 http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_161411_-1__?N=78002898
  10. I just saw this rod at Wal-Mart for $80. It was a 7' medium heavy with micro guides. I haven't seen anything about it on the forums. Could be the next ***.
  11. I got some 7' dingers in a pearlish color and silver flake for $1.50. I think that they'd be good come fall when the shad come in.
  12. I think I mat get an orra sx combo and upgrade the rod later.
  13. I figured that hooks don't have much affect. Does it make a difference that I only use the super salty ones?
  14. I was really considering it but I don't like the faster retrieve for what I plan to use it for (3/16-1/4 T-Rigs/Weightless Flukes/Senkos)
  15. How much does a super fluke weigh when you fish it weightless? I know senkos are really heavy like 3/8 but haven't seen any thing about a super fluke.
  16. I like the Bandit 100 series.
  17. Only $75. I know most of these reels aren't any good around this price, but it's all I can afford.
  18. I CAN'T FIND IT!!!! Anyone else use a Blue Max?
  19. Ok. I'm surprised that no one has any experience with the caius.
  20. Shimano posse is part of what made me not like them. That and the older reels. I feel dirty... like I'm cheating on pure fishing.
  21. Oh yeah you don't have to pay any thing. You'll probably want to give $20 bucks here and there for gas, but most of the time they won't accept it.
  22. I don't know if you go to church, but if you do try starting a bass club there. My church's has a lot of tournament guys and one FLW guy, so it will give you a good feel of how a tournament would be. Best of all you will have known most of these guys for a while so you'll be more comfortable fishing with them and vice versa.
  23. Sorry to bring this back but I had to chime in He could go a head and get a triumph for like $80 and the president is only a $50 reel that you can find for about $40 easy. That puts it right around $120 - $130 for a great quality set up.
  24. I'm OCD so I can't match a different brand reel to another brands reel, but I can match a reel to another companies rod if that company only makes rods. For some reason I feel like they just wouldn't be compatible to each other. So for example I could never match an abu reel to a shimano rod or a daiwa rod to an okuma reel, but I can match an abu reel to an E21 or *** rod or a shimano to a G-Loomis or St.Croix. I have a hard time buyinganother brand than what I usually use (Abu, Pfluger, and I've started to become a shimano fan).
