  1. Okay, I just wanted to make sure because a lot of people are really over sensitive.
  2. What I'm worried about is getting fish into the boat with gloves on.
  3. I've been fishing jerks on my 6'6m fast. I don't get to fish jerkbait s very often because the water never gets really cold here. Never been big on cranks because I've had a hard time keeping fish on, but I just now realized that it's because of my tackle.
  4. I like the All Star Rods.
  5. Reason for the frog rod is because we've been fishing Nickajack Lake and also Baylor Lake which is on the same river. Look at Baylor. https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en-US&q=Baylor+Lake&ie=UTF-8&ei=vesjUoPfI6assQSU4IGgAQ&ved=0CAoQ_AUoAA That was taken before the weeds were really bad. Currently there's a lot more pads and almost have of its mats
  6. Okay I've got a couple couple ideas. ·All Star Team Rod Crankbait and Abu Garcia C3 4600 - Medium/Deep Divers and 1/2oz lipless ·Ethos 7'H and Mettle + 50lb Power Pro - Frogs and Pitching into some mats and pads ·Ethos 7'MH and Mettle + 50lb Power Pro - Worms, Jigs, Frogs, Pitching into heavy cover
  7. I was thinking about either a cranking set up or a 7'h for frogs and pitching into pads or mats.
  8. I'm not a power fisherman (crankbaits and reaction strikes) but I really do well fishing my finnesse tactics. Currently I have a 7'mh ethos/mettle for jigs and worms, a 6'6m/mettle for topwaters and spinnerbaits (rod fishes a little heavier than a medium but not really as heavy as a medium heavy), and a 6'6 medium pflueger combo for skipping/drop shotting/and weightless. What would you buy next?

I like the 1/4 Strike King Swimming Jigs in bluegill and a 3.5 Grass Pig in green pumpkin.
  10. I didn't mean to make you mad. I think it's because those are reaction strike lures. You just want them to see it, although sunfish have chartreuse tails (hard to see out of the water) and shad have some chartreuse in them. Have you noticed that things that swim in the water column look different then things that live on the botom. Shad are bright so that when predators look up they blind in with the sky. Craws are dark because they want to blend in with the bottom. That's why so many craws are blue so that they blend in with the rocks. Sunfish and bass do this as well. Sunfish have dark backs so that they blend in when predators are looking down but have light colored bellies so they blend in with the sky when seen from underneath. Bass are trained to see this. If not they would starve. Your jigs are a hunger strike (assuming that we aren't talking about swim jigs). You want to make it look as natural as possible so that it looks like something that Mr.Bucketmouth wants to eat. This is what I believe but please prove me wrong. You could find the next A-Rig or Senko fishing like this.
  11. There are so many I can't just choose one. ·Netbait ·Berkley Powerbait ·Berkley Havoc ·Big Bite Baits ·Yum ·Trigger X ·Zoom Havoc and Yum make up most of it but in no way are they my favorite. I have a lot of Big Bites and Netbait. Love my Powerbait Chigger Craws but who could forget about Zoom. The one I use the least is probably Trigger X but they're the one I've just discovered. I love all my babies equally.
  12. Did you use a senko as the tail?
  13. I've never seen a chartreuse crawfish. I've noticed that they're pretty dark in muddy/low visibility water so that's why I'd use a black jig, but when I'm trying to imitate a crawfish I want it to look like a crawfish.
  14. Who ever I'm sponsored by, because honestly this is the only reason that I would limit myself to a rod from one brand.
  15. Ok. I just got a little scared and needed to know if I need to start stocking up. They're on clearance on the website if any one wants to buy one.
  16. Yeah I'd find it hard to believe that they would get rid of the mettle, but they better not start messing with my ethos.
  17. I bought another one yesterday for $40, because they're on clearance. This scares me because it's the best reel I can afford and I would hate for them to quit making them. So are they being completely done away with or updated?
  18. We don't mind if it's used. We would prefer a bass boat, but we would consider the jon boat option depending on what y'all say about it. Would it feel like a bass boat while you're fishing on it?
  19. I'm actually starting this thread for my Dad because he doesn't want to make an account. How much is a bass boat? No frills, just your basic boat and a depth finder. So if we want to buy a used boat with enough room for two guys how much would it be? We wouldn't make any long runs, so the gas tank wouldn't have to be huge. All we need is enough to get out and fish.
  20. Guy in my bass club fishes in tournaments were trolling is not allowed, but he found a way around it. He calls it strolling. He throws a deep diving crank as far as he can, puts his reel in free spool, trolls out all of his line, stops trolling, and then starts to retrieve his lure.
  21. Guys, I thought that the B. Monkie family were all our friends. Only two known species in that family of monkies, the bait monkey and boat monkey. They're both becoming endangered by threads like this, and that's why I'm starting the Bait and Boat Monkey conservation act. I'm taking donations in the form of Academy gift cards.
  22. I imagine if he didn't even get to keep the money it wouldn't be to hard for him to get sponsors after being in the classic.
