  1. Why don't you ask the fish?
  2. I like the grass pigs although I haven't used the two you mentioned. EDIT: Sorry forgot about the beat shad, I have used them but they're not anything exceptional.
  3. Sorry Siebert, I'm sure your jigs are awesome but I've never used them.
  4. Those cheap $1.50 1/4 Strike King Bleeding Bait Bitsy Jigs in black/blue with a few streaks of red in there have caught me some fish (including the two I'm holding in my avatars). That's what I caught my first jig fish on and the jig I have the most confidence in.
  5. What do you think about Abu's choice to use magnetic brakes in the new orra series? I'm really disappointed with this desicion, and I feel like they're making it cheaper. I don't know if they're just trying to compete with the speed spool or what, but feel like they should have kept the centrifugal brakes.
  6. Man you really have to love fishing to cut off a finger. Lol. http://glacierglove.com/our-products/midweight-pro-angler.html I would really consider these.
  7. Maybe it's just your reel. I love those trios. Notice I said that they make awesome spinning reels, although shimano makes some really freaking awesome spinning reels.
  8. Jigging and T-rigging
  9. Here's what I've always thought. Clear Water Spinnerbait = Swim Jig If you put on a good trailer it's just enough flash with a subtle action.
  10. THANK YOU!!!!!!!! Now I can sleep. Okuma makes some awesome spinning reels.
  11. Man you're killing me. We won't judge what reel it is just tell me. My spinning reel set up was a pflueger echelon combo that I paid $25 for when it was on clearance at Academy.
  12. I didn't mean to say it that way. I meant how some models wear faster than others on certain parts. My spinning reel did this and I just cleaned it, and it works a lot better. You've got me curious now. Is it a trio? Nemesis? Epixior? Safina?
  13. What reel is it? It could just be one of those models that aren't any good.
  14. Yeah, if any one of your kids, nephews, or whatever fish it would be an awesome thing to give to them. That reels great for crankbaits and good for catfish.
  15. I saw this also. I think it would be pretty cool, but any population of bluegill in a body of water that small and the smallies are gone.
  16. If you're really keen on selling it then you may want to post some pictures of it so that we can see what shape it's in.
  17. Why are you wanting to sell it? Those C3' s are tanks and may even out last you. I've never heard of someone's C3 giving out on them, and as any one who has seen the "For Life" documentary knows that the C3's have some pretty cool stories behind them.
  18. 1/2 is about the max weight I'll throw. I mostly throw 1/4 and followed by 3/8. But with the skirt and trailer your 1/4 ounce jig probably weighs 1/2 ounce give or take a little. Ok. I'll just try to wait for the next rod riot if it's pretty soon.
  19. So would y'all go with a 7'MH or a 7'H? Braid, mono, or fluoro? I currently have 12lb CXX on both reels.
  20. Both. I imagine any gloves with the rubber grips are pretty bad for the fish, and especially if it's big and you need to take pictures with it were your holding the fish in both hands.
  21. I've been considering the pro qualifier.
  22. I can get more, but don't want to. I was planning on spending about $200 on my crankbait rig. It's kind of like snook said, except for that I've tried fly fishing. I have been considering another spinning rod, but the one I have now is still pretty good. I've been looking at other rods in the price range, and the only other I've found that I like would be a vendetta. I like the Powell diesel but not having a warranty worries me, and especially when both abu and H2O have great customer service with pretty good warranties. I think that if I ran some braid on the ethos it would increase the sensitivity enough that I could use it with success.
  23. I'd probably just buy another Ethos for the mettle I bought on Saturday and put my old blue max reel on the 6'6m. I'm really happy with the ethos/mettle combo I have all ready. I won't be able to spend much until I'm able to get a job (which I really don't want). The most I could ever see spending on a combo would be maybe $200 on a very high end with out any left over for any other tackle. I would like to keep it around $150 though because a rod is not any good without a lure at the end.
  24. I think I'll get the jig rod now, and get the crankbait rig around Christmas.
  25. Worm I caught my first bass on. I was 8 years old, and had just gotten my new R2F Shakespeare spincast combo. I felt like ike when I caught that fish.
