  1. 1. Learn more about spinnerbaits. 2. Learn more about jigs. 3. Finally break 5lbs. 4. Get better electronics!
  2. I'm a big fan of Kalin's brand grubs. Last a long time for only $2 a bag, good colors, have caught me a lot of fish!
  3. How is it cheating? I bet you think that A-rigs are cheating too, don't you?
  4. Directly to the line. I've tried with a leader before, but you lose 99% of the action.
  5. I know, but I will miss the rest of the summer AND steelhead season! Don't even get me started on not hunting, I bought a new crossbow for this year and don't get to use it now! Oh woe is me!
  6. So the doctor has finally decided to go in and fuse my left wrist after an industrial accident I had last year, which is good. The only problem is that it puts me in a cast for the next 6 weeks... So...anyone have any good ideas on how to fish with a cast?! Yeah, I should probably just sit this one out, huh? Bummer.
  7. Same experience for me, I love my Tundra.
  8. I think I need to amend my question original question. What do you guys change up when the fish are striking at the bait, but not taking it, not committing? When they strike I can usually hook up with confidence (except for the two I lost at the shore last night) but I was having a big problem with the fish just "tapping" the bait and not committing.
  9. That is true, and I have had success with that in the past, but last night I was really sticking to my top water guns to get more confidence in them.
  10. Yes, tag as in caught...all though one of them did have a Fish and Game tag now that you mention it! Got it reported but, alas, no reward.
  11. So I was out last evening on our local river trying to gain more confidence with top water. Had a good time, had a lot of strikes, a few hook ups, but didn't land a single fish...not exactly the confidence builder I was hoping for! I changed everything, size, color, cadence, but just couldn't find the magic combination. So the question is what do you guys change when you are seeing strikes but not getting any hook ups? As always thanks in advance for all the advice. Tight lines, Matthew
  12. You just had to go there didn't you...
  13. As far as reliability...is there anything more reliable than Toyota? The only draw back you might have is that they hold their value very well, so even used is pricey.
  14. Check out the 2014, should be an option, or at least they said it would be when they first released it.
  15. The only draw back. I have heard that Toyota is going to start offering a larger tank, 30-35 gallons, sometime in the near future.
  16. Tundra or nothing. I have owned ford, Chevy, Dodge, everything over the last 15 years, and I will always be a Toyota man after this last truck.
  17. Love that pic man, priceless!
  18. Nice one brother! I'm still looking for my first frog fish...
  19. Yes there are, at least two four plus pounders!
  20. Why Jeff, I just happened to use a fantastic BPS Rick Clunn Ed. reel that was given to me by a remarkably fantastic gentleman...named Jeff! Thanks again brother!
  21. Got my new BassResource.com tags on the boat, and I love em'! Thanks again Glenn!

Nothing like beating your PB twice in one day! My previous PB was barely over 4lbs, 4.1, yesterday morning I tagged a 4.25 for a new PB! And then about an hour later I tagged a 4.5lbs for another PB! Talk about a good day!
