  1. Spring and booyah get my votes.
  2. I almost walked out of Walmart with a couple of these yesterday, but I just couldn't do it without asking If They were a decent rod. Apparently I should have bought one.
  3. Totally agree about the deep fryer, but I actually don't do any seasonings or breading. The bass that come out of our river taste phenomenal all by themselves. The cats are even better!
  4. Correct. I wasn't saying not to use snaps. I use them and a lot of the pros do also. I was saying that if you leave the split ring on and attach your snap to the split ring instead of directly to the bait I have seen performance issues. Granted, I have a shallow pool that I test my lures in, only 4' deep, so I do have to amend my earlier statement to say "shallow baits".
  5. How do I eat my bass? With a fork. Sorry, somebody had to say it!
  6. Actually, the manufacturers all say that if you attach your snaps to a split ring you hurt the action. The bait becomes to 'floppy' and doesn't have the right support for the action. I have tested most of my cranks in the pool with and without splits and snaps and I have to say, they are right.
  7. Most cranks are designed to be used with a split ring/snap, hence that's how they come. I always remove the split ring and use a snap, gives the same spacing on the bait to allow for the same action. If you tie direct, you are actually lose action on some of your crank baits...don't do it! Tight lines, Matthew
  8. Loving that Koppers Live Target Bait ball and the Lunker Frogs!
  9. You know, for some reason I just don't throw spinnerbaits. Don't know why, just never have. Should probably start though, huh?
  10. Just got my BassResource.com decals on my boat and they look sweet! Thanks again Glenn! Tight lines, brothers! Matthew
  11. I really like some of the ones that they have for sale, I just don't know if I can really justify $30 per sticker! I wanted like 6 of them!
  12. No, he wasn't DQ'd from the event, they just gave him a zero weight for the entire day. WHICH IS CRAP! Why didn't they just take one of his fish, eliminate the largest from his bag? Even if they had made him take a four fish bag, eliminating his largest fish, he still would have made the day three cut. Yes. I AM a big Palaniuk fan. That being said, he is a pro, just like all the other guys. If the boundary is that confusing stay away from it, especially with $100K on the line!
  13. As ex-lawenforcement with 4 small children I keep all of my guns in safe locked up in various locations around the house. The only gun that isn't is a 410 shotgun. This is my house gun. The reason being is that where it will easily damage an intruder enough, it will not penetrate through my hallway walls into my children's bedrooms. Plus, my wife and oldest child can shot it from the hip without being scared of getting hurt.
  14. I really like those Mercury decals, where did you pick those up? Also, what is the difference between the materials used for a deck decal? I have a local guy that makes really high quality vinyl stickers but he needs to know is it just a standard type adhesive on the bottom or something else entirely?
  15. There are a lot of questions wrapped up in that one! Reel - something like this, between $50-$60. I'm a Shimano or an Okuma fan myself. http://www.basspro.com/Shimano-Sedona-FD-Spinning-Reels/product/10203500/ Rod - Again, anything between $40-$60. Kind of partial to Abu Garcia myself. I would stick with m/h in fast action between 6'-7'. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Graphite-Series-Spinning-Rods/product/1204170505228/ Line - I'm a braid guy. Berkley Fireline on every reel. Everything between 12-50lbs depending on where and what I'm fishing. I would go with 20lbs braid, either PP or Fireline. Leader - NO MONO LEADERS! Either go no leader and tie direct or use a 15lb fluorocarbon leader. Hope that helps! Tight lines, Matthew
  16. So you just run the rope through the carabiner and tie off to the cleat? Or do you actually tie off to the carabiner?
  17. Guys with bass boats, where do you tie off at? Just up on one of the front cleats, or is there some special rig for attaching an achor to a bass boat? Thanks, Matthew
  18. Still looking for some good, cheap, decals for the deck. I found some on ebay and what not, but $30 for a sticker, no matter how cool, is a little rich for my blood. Any suggestions? Tight lines. Matthew
  19. Getting started dressing the old girl up! Got these on today, still have to put on the *** decals, and hopefully my Bass Resource decals will be here soon! She'll be a real boat soon! Tight lines. Matthew
  20. I'd have to go with the Okuma, just because of the warranty though. Tight lines. Matthew
  21. I actually sold my Mojo to buy a Veritas. But I'm a big Abu fan. I had a lot of problems with St. Croix years ago, but that was with their steelhead poles. Haven't tried one in a couple years. Tight lines. Matthew
  22. When you rig do you use a glass bead in between your knot and your sinker? It might be a case of the sinker cutting/breaking the knot. Try putting a small glass bead in between your sinker and a Palomar knot, I never have a problem when I rig that way. Tight lines. Matthew
  23. Nice job, great looking fish!
