  1. Why aren't we ALL doing this!?! I'm in for 4#'s!
  2. Good to hear it worked out man. Nothing worse then missing the fish.
  3. Yeah, I would go a little heavier, but not lighter. Tight lines. Matthew
  4. Back pack, even a cheap one from Walmart. It really does make everything easier to carry, even more so then a tackle bag. I've been through where you are at. Wasted $100's on different tackle bags over a couple of years. Finally listened to everyone and got a backpack, had it for 4 years now, not going back! http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/bank-fishing-tips-shore.html
  5. 7' med/heavy, fast action, solid one piece. As for what brand, my first question would be how much do you want to spend? There are a lot of great rods out there for less then a bill. I listed some of my favorites with links. Less then $50 - Save more money $50 - Abu Garcia Vengeance http://www.***.com/Abu_Garcia_Vengeance_Spinning_Rods/descpage-AVS.html $50-$100 - Shimano Convergence and Clarius, St. Croix Mojo Bass, Abu Garcia Vendetta and Veritas http://www.***.com/Abu_Garcia_Veritas_Spinning_Rods/descpage-AGVS.html http://www.***.com/Abu_Garcia_Vendetta2_Spinning_Rods/descpage-AGVNS.html http://www.***.com/Shimano_Clarus_Spinning_Rods/descpage-CLR.html http://www.***.com/Shimano_Convergence_Spinning_Rods/descpage-SVS.html http://www.***.com/St_Croix_Mojo_Bass_Spinning_Rods/descpage-SCMJSR.html And please stay away from Ugly Sticks! I prefer the Abu Garcias, all of my rods are being changed over, slowly, to those. Hey, if it's good enough for Ike, it's good enough for me! Might I also suggest that you switch up your soft plastic gear to a stiffer rod, unless you only throw them in open water. I use a med/heavy or a heavy when I throw soft plastic, unless it's drop shot. Tight lines brothers. Matthew
  6. Looks great man! Making me jealous!
  7. I was thinking the same thing about a dropshot!
  8. As a boater, I would NEVER expect my partners to help with repairs. Not unless is was something they directly caused while doing something stupid. But maintenance? No way. I own the boat, I'm the one that decides when it hits the water, so it's all on me.
  9. Decided to go with a 70 pound maxxum. Now to sell the ones I have to pay for it! Thanks again for all the input! Tight lines. Matthew
  10. Thanks for the input guys, an overwhelming 70lbs vote it is! So now the question becomes... Minn Kota or Motorguide? Tight lines. Matthew
  11. I agree. Another good option that a couple guys have said is the Abu Garcia Vendetta. I would go with a 7'MH for the Vendetta. Good luck and tight lines brother. Matthew
  12. I'm running a 37lbs Motorguide on the front of a 16' Nitro 160tf. I really want to upgrade but am not sure how big I should go. Would 55lbs be big enough or should I look at something upwards of 65-80lbs? Thanks in advance for all the input! Tight lines. Matthew
  13. Looking great guys, really jealous of some of you guys with the big guns...cough fishindaddy cough cough southtexasbassin cough... I'm running a 1996 Nitro 160TF Rick Clunn Edition with a 2-stroke 90hp Tracker Merc. She isn't a screamer like you big boys but she'll do around 48mph with 700+ pounds of fishermen and gear. I've got a little 37lbs Motorguide 30 up front and am planning to upgrade soon to a 55+lbs. She ain't much but she's all mine!
  14. So Chatcolet is going to mostly largeies? We were looking to put in down around St. Maries, unless that is a bad idea... Where would you suggest launching from?
  15. Carrot stick, duckett micro, Abu Garcia vengeance, even St. Croix makes a good bass mojo in that price range. What are you using it for, How long, what action?
  16. Awesome! Thanks for the input everyone!
  17. Lots of good info. Appreciate it! The main problem I have is that, as I said, most of the banks are man made. Mid size rock levees and the like. There just isn't any structure to be found. Again, Thanks for all the input. Tight lines.
  18. As long as they're bass, I care not good sir.
  19. Anyone do any fishing in lake Cda? We are taking a trip up there at the beginning of July and I wanted to take my buddy from Australia fishing for bass. As Lake Cour d'Alene was rated #11 by Bassmaster Magazine this year I was thinking that might just be the place to go! Any suggestions on where? That is a lot of water to just go check out.
  20. Hey guys, I've been fishing with a spinning rod my entire life and have recently decided to take the plunge and expand my arsenal to include bait casters. What I need help with is trying to figure out what to buy. I only have one right now. It is a Shakespeare Axiom, I know this isn't a very good combo but it was free! Any suggestions on a rod and reel combo for LESS than $100? I don't want to spend too much on a combo and find out that I'm not going to use it that much! As always thanks for the input. Tight lines, brothers. Matthew
  21. Chris, thank you so much! I might see you on the river one of these days? If I do I'll swing over and say hi and try and rag on you for some tips!
  22. Just found them on Facebook! Thanks for trying to help HuskyWA!
  23. They do. They just ran a tourney up at Dworshak last month. I didn't find out about it until after the fact and didn't get a chance to find anyone attached to them! I heard that they were forced to get rid of their website, not sure why.
