Beetlespins good for bass?
I use to fish a lake in east Texas and when the bite was slow I’d tie on a 1/4oz. Purple Beetle Spin and have a great time tossing it along the edges of Lilly pad fields. We'd catch Bass and Crappie until we were tired of catching them.

Bait caster for bank fishing?
There's really no reason someone should have to upgrade the spool bearings on a new baitcaster. I’ve been fishing baitcasters since the 80's and have never had to “upgrade” a spool bearing, just because. Learn how to properly adjust the reel and the fundamentals of casting with it and you'll get plenty of casting distance.

Bait caster for bank fishing?
I’m primarily a bank fisherman. I use casting reels 80% of the time. My reel of choice is the Lew's LFS Speed Spools.

Need three rods for casting setups
I have a 6’6” MH Aird rod and in my opinion it fishes more like a medium action rod. YMMV

Worm Gear Grease
The reason that I asked about the grease is I noticed that a couple of reels felt like the worm gear needed to be lubed while out fishing the other day. I have been using oil on them and thought the grease would last longer and give better lubrication. I have been using Reel Butter Oil on them. An additional note, since I was out on the water when I noticed this and didn't have the oil with me I gave the worm gear a squirt of ReelSnot and that actually smoothed it out for the rest of the day.

Worm Gear Grease
I need to grease the worm gear on a couple of my reels. The only grease that I have on hand is some choke tube grease for my shotgun. I’m thinking that will work ok, what do you guys think?

best brand of spinner bait?
War Eagle and Terminator are my spinnerbaits of choice. I also like the Lucky Craft SKT Crazy Colorado Willow spinnerbait. For inexpensive spinnerbaits I generally go with Booyah.

new rods and reel you like
I recently purchased a BPS Carbonlite 2.0 7’ MHF. I’m pretty impressed with it. It lighter than my St Croix Mojo Bass rod of the same model and very sensitive and responsive. I’ve got it paired up with a Lews Speed Spool.

- Great afternoon...
That’s a great day that makes for even greater memories!- 3lb. day
- Not a Bad Day Follow up
Went out and hit the same spot as the other day (see Not a Bad Day thread) and caught a few more including this 5.5 pounder! The Chatterbait bite turned off and they were hitting small spinnerbaits. This big one hit a 1/4oz. Chartreuse and White Booyah spinner bait. I also had good results with a nickel War Eagle Finesse spinner bait. Here in S.E. Mich the bass are definitely in pre-spawn mode. Putting on the feedbag! - Great afternoon...
