Jdm Tatula?
Cosmetics: fancy handle nut and retainer, different knobs, different colors, etc Different spool: 103 sized vs the USDM 100 size. Basically, it is shallower, and about the same weight as the type r spool. Titanium coated t-wing / levelwind. They are made in Thailand.

Better Baitcaster?
Chronarch for me. They are equal in smoothness IMO, but the chronarch has a much lighter spool and I love the ease of casting that the VBS braking system allows.

Chronarch 201E6 Makes Noise When Casting
I am going to guess it is one of the spool brake shoes or the whole brake assembly is a bit lopsided. 1. Take off the sideplate. 2. Take out the spool. 3. Look at the spool from an angle where you can tell whether the brake assembly is crooked or not parallel to the spools outer edge. 4. If the whole brake piece isn't crooked, take a look at the brake shoes and see if anything looks messed up. 5. If 3 & 4 aren't the issue, look at the non-handle sideplate and see if anything on the brake race (metal ring around the inside of the palm sideplate) is odd. 6. If 3 & 4 & 5 aren't the issue, put a small amount of oil on the brake race.

Im Having A Big Problem
I have seen ponds where bass and carp do not coincide too well.. I also read somewhere that carp will destroy the beds and destroy the eggs of bass during the spawn. I would take out at least half of the carp then restock the pond with some more bass. Then I would release a species of shad into the water so the bass have plenty of food. Carp and shad reproduce extremely quickly. You will have to control the carp population while the bass control the shad population and at the same time grow quickly.

Need Help! Reel Maintenance Failure...
Please answer the questions so we can help you out. Did you put the spool back in the reel when you turned the handle? How far did you take the reel apart? Did you take off the handle sideplate and gears?

Need Help! Reel Maintenance Failure...
First off, ardent's maintenance kit is probably the worst on the market. Very grimy and slimy. Did you put the spool back in the reel when you turned the handle? The pinion gear is unsupported in all PF cookie cutter reels so unless the spool shaft is in, it will scrape the heck out of the frame. I hope you didn't turn the handle too much. Did you take the reel completely apart? You really shouldn't apply grease or oil to anything unless you clean out what was there before. The "lube port" on some reels is a complete marketing ploy for the most part. If you use that without cleaning the original grease out of every single groove in the main gear, you are just piling more grease on top of the old junk which will then be deposited on the yoke when the pinion gear pushes it out of the main gear. For bearings, make sure you flush them out with acetone or lighter fluid or even brake fluid. Then just apply one drop of oil. You appear to be in highschool so I would advise you to solve this issue with the gears making noise, fish the heck out of it, and then send your reel in when it has been 1 year since you first used it.

Leader Line For Carolina Rig
15 lb big game mono which is actually much higher in strength.. Big game is rated much lower than the actual breaking strength.

Live Target Ratltrap Issue?
Did the hook get "all bent outta' shape"? If there isn't enough resistance from the hooks, it will not wiggle properly or as much.

Chatter Bait
I believe the reason people "bow" to a tarpon is that they use single hooks which are not lopsided like a lure is. With a bass lure like a spinnerbait or crankbait for example, the bait is going to be swinging around when the fish jumps if the line is slack which will give too much leverage. The angler should pull to keep the bait from swinging = less leverage the bass has. I may be wrong but it is just a guess.

Baitcasting Question
I would guess that with most cranks between 1/4 and 1/2, no one is casting 50 yards. The cotton cordell lipless is not the most arrow-dynamic lure, so just less than 40 yds is pretty good. I would set only one brake shoe on, and then set the fine tuner at max. Keep lowering it every cast until you backlash then just turn it up slightly so you don't.

Line Conditioner?
I read somewhere that is has WD40 in it. I am guessing it also contains some oil of some sort, possibly a mineral oil, and silicone.

Texas Rig Line
A little off topic, but the 7'2 tatula has a regular/reaction action which may not be exactly what you are looking for in a t-rig rod. The regular/reaction equates to moderate to moderate fast of other brands, which is an action used for reaction/moving baits most of the time. You might have a bit of difficulty setting the hook, but then again you are using braid so there will be less stretch.

Casting Distances
While that's a far cast I don't believe its 100 yards. The wide angle of the camera distorts things. 100 ft is decent with crankbaits that have lips which catch air and slow things down a lot. Its crazy how the littlest things on a lure can cause aerodynamic drag and affect cast distances. By the way for anyone wondering, that isn't me in the vid. Just saw it the other day and decided to post it here to stir the thread up a little. He says he was using a 1 oz spool style lure with no hook. If you look up the name of that spoon you can see that it is extremely aero dynamic. I think it was definitely 70+ yds. The spoon would cut through the air so quickly and the thing was flying for a solid couple of seconds.

Casting Distances
OP, what lures were you using when you measured 30 yds? That is not a bad distance for some lures, but it isn't astounding for others. If you were casting a balsa crank or a lightweight jerkbait, 30 yds is not bad at all. If you were casting a heavier lure like a bigger crank or jig, than it could be your reel. I would take that sucker apart and check out the spool bearings. They might be stuffed up with grease. Flush em out with some acetone or simple green and reoil with one drop. For more details on flushing in case you are new to it, there is plenty of info on this website that can be found through a quick search.
