I like the idea of throwing lighter stuff, but in all honesty I really don't throw that stuff much. I think I would be better off with something that would work for different things.

Yeah I thought that's what you were referring to. That is really what I am leaning towards, but there are so many options within that budget.

I don't know. I was looking more towards the PXY that's on sale at TW and the new Zillion, and some other things I need.

I have been looking at a few different reel by shimanoI and daiwa with s $350 budget. I was waiting for TW to have their sale but have come across Amazon. I have never used Amazon and the prices for some of these reel look too good. Then again its almost Black Friday. Should I trust and purchase? I'm also stuck between a Core, Metanium, Pxy Type R, and a new Zillion TWS. There are a couple JDM models on there as well but I have no clue about them. Anyone have any suggestions?

I found a Curado Bantam on the edge of a lake that has been drawn down 50 ft. The reel really isn't that bad. It's obviously cover in some mud, but not bad. It can definitely be restored. I just want to know exactly how to clean it without damaging anything. Should I soak it?

Yes I mean 90 degrees. I understand you want some float, but this looks weird to me. In my kit, there were 3 football heads, and the rest were ball heads. I'll be fishing a hard bottom lake on Saturday, so snags shouldn't be a huge deal. And thanks to you Tom I use your methods for snags. I guess I didn't realize that only a couple of these jigs were best suited for dragging. I thought the ball heads could be dragged as well.

I just recently purchased some hair jigs from Andy Vallombroso. These are new to me, so i wanted to see them in the water. I bought the kit that he offers so that i got a littlle bit of everything, and I put every jig in the tub. They all float straight up and down (with pork and plastic chunk). They almost topple over. Is this normal with hair jigs?

I was using straight braid and now i have the braid as backing and 16lb Fluorocarbon... I bet youre right! My braid is slipping. I put electrical tape around the spool, and come to think of it, I tied a god awful arbor knot that i thought I was going to get away with.

I have a question that came to mind when reading this. I have a Revo Rocket (new). I have my drag set real tight, and i have been hooking fish and when i go to reel in the fish the handle turns, but the spool does not. Its like its slipping or something. I havent hooked into anything over 2 lbs on it either. If thst mattets, but what is wrong here? None of my other reels do this.

Instead just buy a Fat Ika!! And just some advice...I would never use my guide as a bait keeper.

No. Just cosmetics really. Supposed to have a increased breaking strength by 22%. I dont buy it. I do like the new ratcheted reel seats though. Regardless, they are good light, sensitive rods for that price. I have a few and I really like them.

Yeeeahhh i tried this over the summer. No one told me how long it takes. I thought a few days would be great, but not even close. All summer, those dang 1.5s slid all over my dash, and even caught my girlfriend a few times haha in the end i could barely tell a difference, so i may or may not ever try that again.
