Swim Bait On A Football Head Jig?
Is this sarcasm?

Swimbait
My tackle shop had a huge sale today and I purchased a couple different brands. I bought the 3.8 Impact Fat, Little Dipper, and Skinny Dippers, and Swim'n caffeine shad . I had some jig heads and a couple hooks laying around in the tackle box, but they don't seem to fit any of them very well. I'm wondering how far back on the body the hook should come through? I always thought it should come out in the back right before the tail starts? Yes, No? Also, maybe a good suggestion on a hook. I looked around but it seems the bigger the hook the more it weighs and I will be using this 1-15ft.

Swim Bait On A Football Head Jig?
Can you thread a soft or hollow swimbait, or a fluke style bait on a football jig head, fished on the bottom? I thought by dragging or hopping it off the bottom would look like something feeding off the bottom? I don't think I have ever read or heard of this but I was just wondering If this works. Seems like it would work around rocks real well! Just a thought, please let me know how we'll this works.

Hp Restricted Lakes
Living here in West Virginia I don't have a lot of options. The closest lake to me (15 minutes) has a 9.9hp maximum on it. Although I don't own a boat, the people I fish with do, and we can't just grab our stuff and go fish for a couple of hours. As mentioned we cannot idle either, which to me makes no sense. I feel like it should a mph restriction so that some people are not left out and having to travel greater distances to enjoy a trouble free day!

You're Invited To The 2014 Roadtrip!
Brian, I appreciate the detailed information. I was really hoping to hitch a ride with someone coming through or near my area and cut the gas cost that way. I guess It's going to be more of a, ok I have the money kind of deal. This is why procrastinating is bad!

Shaky Head Question!
I have the original trick worms(they do not float), I have the bottom hoppers (they do not float), and I have the KVD finesse worms (they do not float). I have been confused about trick worms, because everyone says they float, but the pack I have does not. They look great and I have heard good things about them. I'll have to pick some up! Thanks

Shaky Head Question!
Yeah I know why the fall and I know which ones have salt in them, but what I am asking is are shakyheads supposed to stand straight up?

Shaky Head Question!
I recently threw some baits in the bath tub with my VMC shaky heads, and I noticed the ZMAN finesse worms were the only ones floating. I tried A LOT of plastics, and most would fall to the side. I have always thought the shakyhead was supposed to stand straight up and the plastic to float? Am I right or wrong? Do I need to switch jig heads?

You're Invited To The 2014 Roadtrip!
Can anyone give me a rough estimate on what the trip will cost. Other than gas and food to and from, what are my expenses looking like while I'm there? I plan on finding a roommate, so say we split that cost and how much would I be giving my boater? I hope someone can help me figure this all up so I have a better idea of what I can do and what I can't do. Thanks in advance!

Offshore Bassin ??
I have a question. How far will a bass travel from the shoreline to deep water? Say you're on a huge lake, can or will bass post up smack dab in the middle if the structure and food are to their liking? Also could they cross a big lake?

Need Help Pricing
Wow, I thought a little more. I hate to sell because I have spent so much this year trying to get ready for my first full year of tournaments. But it's like that sometimes, thanks.

Need Help Pricing
Hey guys, so I need some help with pricing. I purchased everything in the Spring of this year, and everything is still basically new and has been cleaned and oiled/greased regularly. I have a 7'6" MH Veritas/RevoSX 7:1, 7' M/6:4 Quantum Vantex (combo), 7' MH/7:1 Abu Garcia ProMax(combo). and a 7'1" M Abu Garcia Villain rod. I need to sell these in order to help out with Christmas gifts for the kids, but I'm not sure how well value holds on rods and reels. The Villain rod was purchased 6 weeks ago and I have only caught 3 fish with it. And everything is great cosmetically!

I'm Just Not Getting The Jig
More practice! Take some jigs and trailer (nothing else) with you and don't put it down until you figure it out. Seriously, if you don't catch one the first day, go back and do the same thing until you do. I did this with the jig and every other bait I was unfamiliar with or had little to no success with. I do know that when I caught my first one with a jig I pitched into some wood cover from the bank, and let it sit for about 5 seconds, BAM, fish on. I did this, watched my line, and kept a finger on the line at all times for the first few times with success. Once I got that down I started dragging, hopping, etc...PATIENCE! I do hope this helps a little, because my understanding was you throw them in there and go crazy hopping them, but this wasn't the case for me at first. Good luck!!

You're Invited To The 2014 Roadtrip!
I'm wondering if it is possible to car pool with someone? I would need someone coming from PA,NY,OH, or any other north eastern state. I would obviously split gas and all that, but do any other members do this? I also need to room with someone, but I would'nt be ready to pay until January or maybe February (hoping there are other members doing this as well). I guess I am asking if there is anyone who would like to go ahead and make plans?

Veritas

Where To Start?
Yeah I had looked into BFL too. When I go to register for the Opens it asks for a early entry code, which I have no idea what that it?

Do You Remember Your First Jig Fish???
I was in a small creek in some thick cover. I remember climbing this very steep drop off and holding onto branches to get my self to the spot. I was really really paying attention to my presentation when I felt a light bump, and bam, small creek bass, but a light bulb came on and I figured the jig out. I, like most, love this style of fishing now!!

Where To Start?
Exactly Sam! I want to fish more than my club does. They fish once a month and to be honest I feel like an outcast in highschool lol Maybe because I am new or the youngest at 26, but noone talks to me and therefore I'm not fishing on the side with any of them, and dont know anyone with a boat to fish with. So I'm hesitant to contact or ask my club president or anyone else. I do appreciate your advice and help, and I do have plenty of time to figure a plan out which is why I wanted to start now. I do have one more question though. Do you register for a tournament months ahead or is it more towards the beginning of the tournament?
-
Where To Start?
I am currently in a BASS affiliated club here in WV, for about 4 months now. I haven't fished but 3 tournaments, however I want to fish in a bigger tournament as a coangler. Either BASS or FLW, but I want to spend some extra cash and take a roadtrip and gain a little bit of experience. I'm not trying to throw myself into this because I think I am that good either, I just have some money and think it would be a great experience. I just dont know where to start and how to go about it. If anyone could please help I would appreciate it!
