It looks good on that villain, i have on (spinning) its a decent rod. I put my Px on my veracity and that looks sweet, but i sold it yesterday.

haha yeah ill post a picture when the rod come in. I have a tatula coming Monday i think. And my Hudd 68 came today (domt even have a rod to throw it on). I am done buying until spring though. Gotta keep the kids and wifey happy for the next few months!!

I have heard both sides really. Some get away without the insert while others do not. Aaron Martens did a video on how to make an insert yourself with shrink tubing and a lighter. It is super easy and it works. I myself have never had a problem without a insert, but I almost always have one in. I usually put the insert in after buying them.

Hey trey can you make very long cast with the 50lb braid? That spool is shallow! I didnt get to really cast mine yesterday just a few short casts. I was wondering about larger diameter on it.

I ended up getting a 703c. Its backordered til the 10th because dobyns was sellin like hotcakes for the sale. Itll be a long week lol

See i want like a M, or MH. Im pretty much stuck on Dobyns too. i have wanted a dobyns longer than i eger wanted a better reel. Ive heard great things mainly and i like the looks as well.

what rod do yoh have it on?

Yeah i think i want to throw weightless and up to 3/8 oz jigs. I only made maybe 10 casts with it as it was raining and freezing out, but i had the tension and brakes a little tight and i looking forward to loosening it up and seeing what it can do.

Oh i didnt pay for this haha this was a xmas present for my parents. All those custom parts are old new to me lol ive been eyeballing allllll of it for alooooong time. Soon i will get there!! As some may know i was in the market for a new reel. Well i ended up getting a Px Type R annnnd i was kind of disappointed when i opened the package. Just a plain box with instructions and some oil. First impression was anything but satisfying. I spun the reel handle a few times and, blah, it sucked. (Wondering what a mistake i just made). Well after a couple hundred spins it started to loosen up more and more. At this point im happy haha. Freezing and pouring the rain i spooled it up and put it on a M veritas i had, and took it to the yard. I cant explain how stoked i am with this reel. Its my first high end reel as mine are revo sx and below. So maybe i dont have much to compare it to but either way its pretty sweet. I really dont know what i am going to use it for yet as someone here says they are more versatile than one would think. I have to make a decision by tomorrow on which dobyns to get in order to get the discount, but its between a dx743, 703, 702c, 733c. Sorry for the long post, but i was happy with this reel and if anyone would chime in to make this decison easier id appreciate it. I dont fish open water and no vegetation around here.

I ended up getting a PX Type R!! It should be here tuesday and i seriously havennt been so stoked in a loooooooong time. I think ive probably crossed a line of no return! Ha Now I just need a dobyns and i will be happy.

I own 3 sx and i like them. My 7:1 is a dud though starting to have problems (1 yr old).

I would say i do both equally. I think its important for me to support my local tackleshops (there are 2). Like slone said i buy most last minute things there, but i have also made big purchases on rods and reels. The guys see me come in alot and will always cut prices on those items to satisfy me.

Im with the other guys, hard jerkbaits. I buy them, i dont use them, and i sure as hell dont catch fish with them lol ive thrown them maybe 5 different days.

Yeah TW has it for $420. Amazon I think is like $317-325ish. I just didn't see that reel being discounted like that. Along with the others I named, so that's why I was skeptical.
