Ever set the hook on a fish 30+ yards from the boat with a football jig in 20+ FOW? high-speed is a must or you will loose fish after fish.

All lakes have it
I've caught bass suspended 10' deep over 30' flats. No structure within 1/4 mile, not even a hump. They were just in a neutral mood and you pretty much had to knock them in the head with a vertical drop shot to get them to bite.

Handling Coils Of Wire?
Zip ties. Peel the wire off the coil and tighten the tie every time you go through it. If you only peel off what you need, the weight of the coil will hold it so you can cut. Another tip, use a dremel and a cutting wheel for cutting 050+. A heck of a lot easier than trying to snip it.

Panfish Lures And Bait
Gulp earthworms are something I'm really starting to like. They are in a jar for $5.

All lakes have it
Being that it is summer, the fish will move up on the hump to feed in late evening until very early in the morning and then they will back off again. Baitfish go deep in the daytime during the summer to find cooler water with more oxygen.

Texas Rig Question
So you have 50# spiderwire braid and you are using a 14# fireline fused leader? that makes no sense what so ever. Either use no leader at all or get some quality 14# mono or fluoro for a leader. Up it to either a 3/0 or 4/0 worm hook, texas rigged. Use no hardware at all, tie directly to the hook. Your catch rate will go through the roof if you rig everything up correctly.

How new is it? Most have a 1yr warranty. Just take it in and exchange it for a new one.

Best Line For Spinning Gear...
Braided with a fluoro leader is going to be a lot easier. But personally I am having NO PROBLEMS with 8# seaguar red label fluorocarbon. I've been using it for 2 weeks now on pretty much a daily basis and I have had only one loop. I have also tried trilene 100% and cannot say the same, lots of memory, lots of loops, and just a pain. So if you have $12 to spare, give 8# seaguar a try. Actually I might even step it up to 10# for t-riggin. Red label is one size smaller than typical mono, so 10# would have 8lb dia. Just remember with fluoro it is VERY important to get fresh line. Buy only from a big store like gander mtn, dicks sporting goods, bass pro, cabelas, and stores like that. If you do want to go braid with a fluoro leader, I would highly suggest 20# power pro in the hi-viz yellow. Run a 5-6' fluoro leader and you will be golden.

Help Needed With Spinner Baits!
I would pick up a 3/8 white one willow one colorado blade and just start fan casting. Moderate pace with twitches every 1-2 feet. I would use a grub or split tail trailer, white as well. Havent found a place where that will not catch some fish yet.

Texas Rig Question
Palomar knot is not easier than improved clinch, no way. I can tie an IC knot in 6 seconds. Line trough the eye, pull slack, spin the line with my thumb and index finger, back through small opening, grab with teeth through big loop (while moistening with my lips) and pull tight. Timed myself, 6 seconds. I'd like to see anyone tie a palomar that easily.

Texas Rig Question
Keep a small lighter in your pocket for retying braid. Use it to burn through the line instead of cutting it. It will help speed up your tying and will help keep your knots from slipping.

What Strength Line Is On My Reel?
Cut off a 6" piece and go to walmart. Hold it next to the line tied on the boxes and see which one it is. If you still cant tell, buy 30#.

Half Rockbass? Half Smallie?
Rockbass and smallmouth cannot crossbreed. That would be like crossing a bluegill with a largemouth.

Do You Ever Hesitate Before You Buy....
If it is a big store then I would not think twice. I'd look it over for scratches or defects of the blank, push on each eye to make sure they arent loose/broken, and tighten the reel seat to make sure it isnt stripped. If it looks good I'd buy it. If this was a sketchy run down old bait shop I would probably pass.

What To Do When There's Too Many Shad
Well, that pond is way too small for crappie so I would rule that out. If there are that many shad you have a problem, something in your ecosystem is out of whack. How is the bass population? Maybe somebody is sneaking onto the land and keeping all the bass they catch? Sounds like you are super low on predators if that many shad are in there, you need more bass! Be sure to check with the landowner before you go adding/removing any fish from his pond.

Bassresource App For Cellphones
Not entirely true. "Who makes the iPhone? If you answered 'Apple', you're wrong. The iPhone is a global effort. Tens of thousands of people at more than 30 companies on 3 continents work together to make Apple's first phone possible. Apple, of course, designs the product, and also created the single most important 'component' – the software that gives the iPhone its unique personality. But, while Apple gets the credit, behind the scenes there are a host of other players, each of which has to build and deliver complex parts on schedule to make the iPhone possible. Some of them are well known names, like US-based Intel, which supplies the NOR flash chips which hold the iPhone's updatable system software; and Korea's Samsung, which makes the video processor IC. Two famous names from consumer electronics, Japan's Sharp and Sanyo Epson, are among the suppliers of the phone's bright 3.5-inch display."
