What kind of baits are you planning to throw w/ it? What size of line are you going to use?

I have it in imx and I like it for topwater spooks/poppers and I am going to also use it for jerk baits.

Okay just let me say I am not the most experience or the most knowledgable angler. Are you fishing off the shore, if so do you think the fish cut you off from rocks/branches right by the shore? Does the end of the line have a clean break or line freys or swirles which might be due to bad knot. I am asking because I have had all those thing happen to me before. If anything try to set the drag a little lighter then what you had today and see if you get cut off.

I wonder if he would have bleed or ticked himself in the pants first?

Would you care to disclose some of the other tackle that you guys have rejected because it was pure junk or just didn't like it. I'm just curious because in the past I was a sucker for some of the the "specials" especially the red tagged sale items at walmart which ended up to be junk.

That is great to hear Glenn. I have more confidence in purchasing from the sponsors here now. I was curious and would like to know what is your selection process that determines if you would let a company advertise on this forum? I mean do you personally test out their products or sent them to the other moderators to test out? I just wanted to know because maybe I can learn what to look for to distinguish between baits/tackle that catches fisherman vs fish. I dont want to waste more money purchasing junk. If you dont want to disclose your evaluation process that is cool too. Thanks

No, that post was about the "new Citica". This is the "new Curado" . I'm sure there was another post earlier this morning maybe it was removed for some reason? Perhaps to cover up the sneak preview of the reel?

wait are we talking about spinning or casting? If casting I think cabelas has the left hand retrieve on sale.

I think the jig head will take away the action of the ika...but I heard another member here uses the chatterbait/ swimming senko as trailer w/ good result.

I actually spoke to a shimano rep today at the local bait shops spring sale. And he said yes its coming back to the green color and the 100 will have the HEG and resemble the Core. The price will aslo be 144.99 and the citica will get the same improvement and cost 99.99. I guess we will have to wait and see. I did forge to ask when they where coming out, he was getting bombarded by people. Oh boy for 145 bucks cant wait ;D I almost bought one of the current models when they had the rebate. Hopefully its worth the wait on the new curados.

The drop shot rod does not have them. I bought a hook hanger from a fishing show/convention and it has a magnet inside and works wayyy better then the one I got from bps. I think they were call ez something

Bring it back to the place you got it from. If they wont exchange it for another one I'd shop somewhere else then I would call shimano and ask what they can do for you. I'm sure shimano will take care of it.

I went to bps one time and asked one of the employees and they told me US reel makes their extreme spinning reel. He could be wrong. I was really tempted to buy it but I think for the capacity they weight a little more then shimano or daiwa so I didn't get one.

You might want to mount the reel on the rod before making a purchase. I have mbr843 imx and I had a alphas ito which is a pretty light reel and it didn't balance that well to me. It felt better on the 783. But then again you have the glx maybe it is lighter and balance better with a light reel.

Would it be that the fact that the rod blank's diameter get bigger as it moves away from the tip thats why the blank is different size at different point?

I have both and I was wondering if anyone eles feels that they feel a lot different? besides the length I feel that the 843 is a lot stiffer then the 783. I am still experimenting on which rod will work better for what kind of application.

Just give stcroix a call. I bought the Legend elite and it was my first stcroix rod. I realized after 30days that I had to send in the warrenty card gave them a call and they said it was okay and registered me over the phone. They are such a big company I dont think they will fuss about little things like this. If they do, you should look to buy rods w/ shimano or loomis.
