  1. LMAO Round here the surf beach drivers use a device that automatically deflates tires to a givin value. Maybe make some pins for different values depending on how bad the QB wants to cheat.
  2. Of course that can work, but often pulling the bobber 18" to 24" stop and go will catch to.That gives the lure/bait a pendulum swing movement. Windy days with a surface chop will do the work for you. C22
  3. Did it look like this? http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/155754-identify-this-fish-i-have-no-idea-what-it-is/page-1
  4. Tog, triggers, stripers, sheeps, . All good but any order. Flounder breaded deep fried ,swimming in catsup. BTW triggers and sheep are not to hard to clean if you make the first cut from the inside out. Blues mostly cat food, but I did have smoked that was really good. C22
  5. Ha ha .that is similar to what goes on at the inlet. Its common for anglers to cast over other lines as long as the shot goes father out than the longest line. The current sweeps it along and all is well with a group that "knows". If a big fish can`t be controlled, then you just live with it. Big no no to cut someones line with out permission. When I get into a basket weaving tangle,I just cut my line and pull it free, usually in less than half the time to untangle. C22
  6. For salt water,I`ll take the new moon period. The catching usually increases as do the tide speed and elevations.
  7. The blue blitz at my local ocean inlet just keeps on keepin on. Historically the slammer blues [10 lbs +] make a showing for 3 to 4 days then they move on up the coast. But so far this year its been on for almost 3 weeks now. They are everywhere because of the food supply. About the title==When this type catching takes off ,it attracts hoards of jetty fishermen and boaters a like. The shore guys usually make very long casts to get into the main stream. Most boaters know to keep a reasonable distance from shore because there are plenty of fish where they are. Yesterday == enter the moron. A wise guy boater intentionally motored in to close and a few shore guys yelled at him. The boater flipped everyone and cut some lines off with his prop.Lots of unmentionable words were exchanged along with a brief discussion about one anothers ancestry. The game changer came when the boater came in closer and threw fillet knife at the crowd on shore. It didn`t hit anyone ,but came close.Enter the police to charge him with assault. This type conflict usually happens a few times every year but seldom results in anything more than words. Its part of the culture down here. The boaters actually have the right of way. Before anyone mentions throwing lead at one another in either direction, that too is assault and very dangerous. I hope things calm down soon. BTW there were hundreds of big fish landed. People just get stupid during these blitzs C22
  8. Way nice catch on one of my favorite baits.WTG. I like the 5" super fluke with the same basic hook, except I hook them 90 degrees away from your way [3 oclock to 9] Zoom makes a 7" SF . Never tried them topside. I usually put that size on a 2 to 3 oz jig for stripers. C22
  9. Wow ,that is a big snakehead. I hope you took it home to eat. There is a guide service on that water that specializes in them. C22
  10. Early incoming tide produced a 2 man limit[6] 15"+ of tog[tautaug] with in one hour this morn. Sand fleas [mole crabs ] produced best over green crabs. On the anchor the water was rough like two gorillas shoving you back and forth. The tog is a very very tasty much sought after fish here in the salt water. They pull like junk yard dogs and even though they have lots of teeth to crush crabs and crustaceans , they are very docile when landed. Fun day
  11. Today on incoming tide the slammer blue bite was just absurd. The first one I caught was 17.2 Lbs. That fish was a very formidable opponent, as it stayed down and stayed down.I was thinking 35==40 lb striper. Nope, slammer blue + 7 more of lesser size about 10 to 12 lbs. They ate all my bucktails and destroyed my net beyond repair. Serious pullage I actually left the bite area to take a break. C22
  12. Tom Brady ===generally aware========== Nahh== that's like being " a little bit pregnant" You is ,or you ain`nt
  13. Old is when you starting caring less & less what people think about you. Old is when you have to take a break between beer breaks, thats old=======that is old Old is when you have not much more to do than think about what to post on this thread. Old is === ahh never mind its nap time Old is when having "woodie" meant you owned a 1948 Ford station wagon with wood trim. I actually did own one in 1962. I possessed the other type woodies also back then also. Old is when winning a fight means you hissed the other guy off worse than he did you.
  14. Old is when you reject offers of help form others so you will have something to do. My neighbor and I have a friendly running battle about where the grass mow line is. He mows over on me to take my job so I do the same to him.
  15. SB`s are great drop baits for deep water.I use to fish Raystown Lake ,Pa with them.Tons of deep water there.I used to make long casts and just hang on letting them drop 20' to 30' sometime. Great for trees in the deep. C22
  16. Memories, its about the memories. Ya`ll take pictures, right. Why? memories and bragging rights. BTW,I usually don`t retire them voluntarily I did have a bomber 7a light colored baby bass crank that was the Mike Tyson of lures yrs ago. I would retire it had I not lost it to "something" C22
  17. Great looking catch. WTG C22
  18. At least you got to see her, thats not near as bad as not getting a look. Maybe next trip. C22
  19. I say juvie tiger musky. The light color stripes may be to the water color it came from.. Def not a chain pickerel and pike don`t have connecting spots. I read that St Clair has them so why not the big O. I never have seen one like that. C22
  20. The market is known to pay absurdly high prices early on to gain the interest of fishermen around the world. Susie dinners in Japan can range form $200 to $400. The prices the buyers pay are the reason the we can`t get a decent purchase at our own markets for tuna.
  21. That is a good day , Congrads
  22. Years ago,the best shark fishing captain in the area was pulled overboard by a shark and died. An impending storm was moving in fast and he tried to hurry the catch.RIP Capt Billy Target the smaller fish. C22
  23. Actually three, but one didn`t tighten up. I kept waiting for the tide to start out. It takes extra time when your watching it? So I tied a spec rig with two light jigs w/ Gulp 3" shrimp. Jigging ,jigging along and a 22" flounder mashes it. Alright one in the box. More jigging and a monster bluefish hauls on with it. It started to pull drag right away.I knew the odds of landing it were about the same as Houdini returning to life.Round and round we went,it tried to get in the motor, jumped twice pulled drag several times.Amazingly I got it in the net.36" bluefish. I quick took some pix and measured it and returned it to the water. Blues that size are usually ocean run,but this critter was in shallow back water about 6' deep? Sorry about the lack of a smile, but I was worried about this size blue biting my finger off. They can do some serious damage.
  24. Old==as a kid you could hardly wait to get your Ovaltine secret decoder in the mail.
