Catch 22

No go today on the perch, high wind and rain all day.I went to a local pond and beat up on lots of pickerel,two nice 13" yellows and zero lmb.The pics were vicious and while trying release one ,it managed some revenge on me by breaking off a one point of treble in my hand.Oddly enough,it seemed like every nerve ending on the left side of my body was attached to that penetration point.OOwwiie First skunk on the bass at that location.Best bait was a ghost LC 78. I saw an eagle grab a fish off the surface only 50' away, just like the nature channel. Also I was watching some blue herons building a nest. They pick the very top of the highest pine trees and I swear they look like test dummies doing an organized crash.Its comical C22

I didn`t fish yesterday in the tropic wx . I planned to hit the Nanikoke River for white perch today ,but a sustained 25mph wind nixed that notion.Maybe tomorrow. I have been catching some lmb,pickerel and yellow perch in the local ponds lately. WT`s up to 50deg means it will soon be rattle trap time. I promise that when the heat/humidity return I will try not to complain about it to much. C22

I used to get the my number calls. Don`t know what they are up to, no one answers. These calls are out of control. Last week I had an emergency away from home and had to buy a cheap flip phone from Walmart. Only 2 people have that number but yet I get 3 to 4 rouge callers every day GGrr The fed no call list is a mere joke. Only lajit businesses obey it.

I don`t have the cracking fingers like yr ago ,but my lips take a beating. I use Medex for help. Gotta stop kissin the fish in the winter.

Its a plague they suffer Nova should have won that game,but they just played incredibly bad early on.They came to life a bit late.

I got some a few days ago on metal---but tomorrow will be different. I hate using blood worms but they work. Nasty messy little critters. Also have some night crawlers too in case the bloods get to me. A nice mess of whites will make a nice meal. C22

Reverse your braid if it shows wear. Dry your hooks before storing them.[rust] Remember, because you caught fish on a certain lure doesn`t warrant buying a hundred more of them.[unless they`re on sale]

Yowser $1000,that runs the cost of fishing up. I have seen many break downs on the road. It is so easy to forget that maintainance job. I have done it too. I have Boat US on water tow insurance with a $12 rider that covers trailer breakdowns. By far worth the money. The two total about $ 170/yr.You will see some night mare type bills if you break down off shore.. The policy actually covers the person. That is to say I can call then if I`m on a boat other than my own.

Back on the same small pond today. WT 50=52 couldn`t believe it. Really slow start. Most fish moved into shallow water about 3 feet. First fish a 3 lb lmb followed by a 2 lmb. Then the pickerel and yellow perch started . Surprizingly the perch had already spawned Tally 3 lmb 6 pickerel 6 yellow perch All the fish hit an LC 78 ghost Tried jigs =nada The first pullage in a long time really felt good. C22

Freshwater==springtime cold water bluegills scaled,pan fried in butter. Many salt species striper,sheephead,tog,triggers,flounder

I`m back from Fl bike week. There was an incredible number of bikes, maybe a half million.Some people have a lot of money to spend on two wheels. I have to say that it was the most courteous and nice people of any crowd I have been in. I met people from all over the country and had an excellent trip. The only undesirable people was a bunch of religious zealots freaks screaming peoples ultimate destination at them.

See a doc.Sometime diets can cause problems. Long ago to much to much caffeine became a problem for me.I reduced it as much as possible and became a new guy. At age 66 my joints became a problem for a while ,so I started taking 2 fish oil tabs and glucosamine each day and it really made a huge difference. I took about 6 weeks to kick in but I would not be without them now. I`m 71 now. C22

Our local tv weather guy is a real drama queen.2" snow is life threatning,8" snow means were all gonna die==ect ect His forecasted storms always come in 6 to 8 hrs late. Funny thing is,we live near a main touron attraction==the beaches and summer forecasts NEVER say its going to be bad on the weekends until it actually happens. That's after everyone spends their money to get here. The Windfinder site is reasonably accurate but not perfect.None are C22

About an hour after dark,I was coming home from a successful fishing trip. I had a nice striper for dinner. About 40 mph,I see a BAM.It happened that fast. A doe T boned my van . I envisioned a surf/turf dinner now. I stopped ,got out with a flashlite and knife only to find a doe standing about 50 yds in a field. She ran away. It pushed one of the side swing doors in about 2".I couldn`t believe the $1500 estimate to fix it. I have been driving over 50 years and never made contact with any large animals before. I have a friend that had a deer jump into his boat while traveling. It torn a seat off and roughed up some tackle. Did you ever hit a deer. C22

I find it to be very handy to listen to what I like. I put the head set on and while my wife watches NCSI over and over.I swear I think she is studying a way to covertly knock me off for the insurance. Any how, I purchased a Replay Music program that allows recording Spotify tunes which in turn I burn custom cd`s. Good way to pass winter. C22

I was in an upper class restaurant waiting to be called for a table. There were lots of paintings of the nautical nature hanging. but one got my attention more than the others. I started laughing to the puzzlement of my wife. There was a huge fantastic painting of a fisherman on a rock jetty with a phenomenal sunset and a boat in the background. The fisherman`s spinning reel was distinctly upside down.

Yes,me too. I had one on the phone for almost 1/2 hr. I was reading a fishing article to him ,and kept telling him to "make my day" Often if they ask for someone by name ,I say hold on I`ll get them and lay the phone where the tv sound can entertain them.

It is easy enough to add your own trailer hooks whether it be a j or treble. Just add a small piece of a wide rubber band and impale it on to the jig hook as a keeper. Some plastics will work too.

I know a fellow [not me] that left a very expensive rod /reel combo laying on the cap of his truck while securing the other tackle.He never saw it again. A rod/reel "found" post was listed on another site that I use. A few days later I overheard a yaker talking about leaving a combo at the ramp while he loaded up. I hooked the two of them up and all was well. I found a snow skiing outfit along I-95 yrs ago. I searched the gear for ID but didn`t find any thing.I looked again to find a tiny piece of paper with enough info to contact the owner. He was 3 states away and it took 2 months to come together. I wasn`t at home when he showed up because I would have refused the "C note" he rewarded me with. I found out that he was high dollar surgeon, so that eased my conscience. It pays to have ID in or on your goodies. I had a T bag returned twice already. Getting old is tough C22
