  1. Yumeya deep spool for the '12 antares perhaps?
  2. Pm me the pics and I'll upload them if you're having issues.
  3. Thanks Goose. What do you use your Antares '12 for?
  4. Print the postage online for USPS. ~$15 for shipping and $7 for a piece of 2" pvc and good endcaps. If you use TW tubes, cut them down to under 8'.
  5. Completed the '12 Antares, '13 Metanium, and '14 Conquest trinity. Shimano makes a nice reel. Not sure what it's going to ride yet.
  6. I think that would be more of a rack pull, but since you're the one repping over 500 lbs we'll call it whatever you like! Piggybacking with a recent somewhat inspiring fitness story: I started doing Stronglifts 5x5 in mid-August (look it up if you're curious about the barbell movements, as it's a great beginner program). Squatting around 170 for reps right now. Not a lot, but good start. I also have serious femoral vein damage in my left leg from a series of very many blood clots. Previously in pain, all the time, no matter what with limited mobility. Also tweaking my right knee constantly from favoring the other leg. After starting to squat "heavy" for a few weeks now? No pain. Zero. Zilch. Mobility's back. Fishing is awesome when you're not limping. A-Jay's right. Give weightlifting a try. Disclaimer: I am not a doctor (of medicine, anyway). Please seek medical advice before starting any serious exercise program. Don't blow out your knees, hips, or other body parts because some guy on the internet (me!) claims that squatting will cure what ails ya.
  7. I'm not worried. Megabass makes children's gear.
  8. Can I swim it? I'mma swim it.
  9. It happens. Up your pound test and hope for the best.
  10. The Zodias rods are serious business. It seems that when Shimano got rid of the lifetime warranty, they put the savings into the rods. I have the 7'2" H and it's an excellent rod for frogs but still fishes a 1/8 oz swim jig and 4" Easy Shiner. Very versatile. If the Ci4 seat works for you, then you can't go wrong.
  11. Nice shot of a couple combos at the lake today. Met HG on a Zodias H, Chronarch Ci4+ HG on an NRX 853c, and Zillion on a Flat Side Special.
  12. Just take what you like to fish.
  13. I think the Do It All Jig sounds good. You could even shorten it to Doitall Jig. I also like Go Anywhere Jig or Do Everything Jig. Of course, because I like Lord of the Rings, I also like the sound of The One Jig. One Jig to rule them all.
  14. Gunfish has my vote for easiest/best. Sammies are good but they like a quick, constant cadence. It sits straight down on the pause and getting it to smoothly start back up is hit or miss. I catch a lot of fish on a Crack Blue Sammy 100 during Fall though when they're hitting that retrieve.
  15. Met XG, always a good decision. I have an HG on an NRX 853c and it is a very nice combination. I would consider the Chronarch Ci4+ as well. It's not flagship or anything, but it also sounds like you're not made of money. The Chronarch has a deeper spool, brass gears, and handles heavier lures very well. Of course, it would also be fun to find an inexpensive '09 Aldebaran and drop Brenious gears in it.
  16. My Alphas SV rode an NRX 853c. Pretty good match. Weightless Senkos aren't light. I'd go M or a light MH. The Alphas SV is not necessarily a finesse reel. Brass gears say the Alphas SV does what it wants. I would even frog with it if you could manage the line cap.
  17. I have the Tackle Warehouse backpack and I'm not thrilled with it. It has all these cool pouches and webbed pockets that don't really hold anything and impact the overall amount of gear/boxes you can carry. However it is a nice quality backpack and it stands up by itself, which is cool. I use it for my school bag now. I have the 3600 Plano KVD bag, which is pretty much the 3600 Guide Series bag in an atrocious color combination. It holds 5 3600-footprint boxes and four or five Rage bait packs in the side pockets, plus room for Boga, pliers, and a spare reel or two. It even has a big, rubberized mesh pocket on the back so I can air out lures and stick myself in the behind with treble hooks when I pick the bag up. Two thumbs up. The Cabela's Advance Angler bags are sweet but the Magnum and Super Magnum are too large for bank fishing while maintaining any semblance of mobility. However if you're looking to turn fishing into a Strongman event, be my guest.
  18. Yeah, but you need the pinion yoke as well. I think that's it; you need something extra besides the gear set.
  19. 6 lb Yo Zuri is solid on spinning reels. I'd still use fluoro, but options are good.
  20. Skip gap hooks help, as do twistlocks. Otherwise just Mend It and it'll be good as new.
  21. Sigh. I need more Keitechs. I swear they melt when exposed to water. I'll probably buy more swim jigs too, because I have a problem.
  22. 893 supposedly has slightly more power than the 853, which I have and could test out with a 1/2 oz jig and trailer tomorrow. Let me know what sort of trailer and line you plan on using and I will get all scientific up in here.
  23. Straight 8 lb Sniper. However if you're throwing 5" Senkos, casting gear and a bit heavier line is probably better. Fishing weightless worms on braid is gross, especially if there's a breeze. Not saying it can't be done (I did it last night! It was awful!), but if you're making a dedicated combo, do it right, yo. Probably wait for the new Sedona reel. I'm not a President fan. Terrible line twist.
