  1. Direct competition with the Shimano Zodias. Bold move Cotton.
  2. Zillion SV spool happy dance time?
  3. Ugh $13.50. That's more than a Jackall frog. I'm out; I lose too many Spro frogs to pike as is.
  4. I don't think parts are an issue for any widely used domestic reel. I don't have anything productive to add. Buy a Conquest 301.
  5. Dick's or Academy usually have good sales on Power Pro a few times during the year. I try to buy it at less than $10/150 yd spool.
  6. I like the Extreme. The Deep Throat hook is excellent. Personally I think the Structure Bugs come apart too easily, so I use different Rage baits like the Craw and Lobster.
  7. You should strongly consider buying Siebert jigs and shakyheads. The quality for the money cannot be beat. Owner Ultraheads are pretty sweet though. They let me fish shakyheads in grass, which is neat.
  8. Yeah I would PM him like, today.
  9. The brown truck just dropped off a 7'2" H Zodias rod. Hopefully her mate will be here soon!
  10. Yeah, PM on here works well. He's probably swamped with orders right now.
  11. This is all speculation, as I don't think any of us have an Archangel yet. I can tell you that the 7'1" MHF *** Black is very comfortable with 1/4 oz tungsten + finesse worm. You could ask *** how the MH Archangel compares power-wise. I hope some information comes out soon; the only pictures of Archangels in the wild that I've seen have been from 13 pro staffers or testers.
  12. So Z-man can charge $4.99 for a 5-pack.
  13. Always expedite. $5 2-day for a rod is so worth.
  14. I think you should swing for the fences and get an Orochi XX Swingfire. Kidding (not kidding). I prefer graphite but I can't say anything bad about the Dobyns glass rods. You'll be happy.
  15. Most expensive? MS Slammers. Most expensive that I use regularly? Megabass Pop Max. Most expensive that slays bass? Tie between LC Gunfish and Duo lipless cranks.
  16. For the love of God don't buy a $1000 Dell. If you've got that budget, build your own and get twice the machine without the bloatware. I'm in the same boat and I think I'm going with the $2400 Hobie. The attractiveness of the WS yaks (to me) was the price. If I'm going to drop two grand, I'm going to just get a Hobie.
  17. Count me in with the braid guys, but small diameter Sniper is pretty sweet.
  18. Normally water, black coffee, and a Diet Pepsi. I get this vanilla granola from nuts.com that's pretty good, so sometimes either that and/or almonds and raisins. Usually I'll just go to Timmy's on the way home. Egg and cheese on a nine-grain bagel hype.
  19. I think the Daiwa power handles on TW will fit. Solid handles for $50.
  20. Terrible colors. Terrible. Send them to me, I'll throw them out for you.
  21. Yep, it's fixed. I have an 853C and I like it. I don't $525-like-it, but that's okay. If you're paying like $400 for one, go for it. I don't like it for 1/2 oz jig + swimbait trailer, but anything less is good. The sensitivity is great but probably overkill. Where the NRX shines (for me) is jigs or senkos on the fall with fluorocarbon line to detect soft or subtle bites. If you're looking at a GLX 853C, I would try to steer you toward an Orochi XX or a Dobyns Extreme. Also, recoil guides are usually gross but the hybrid guide train on the NRX sort of works. It's crazy-loud with something like CXX though. What are your planned techniques for the JWR 853C? There's a chance the MBR 843 should be on your radar.
  22. I came here expecting a rant about the Bargain Room. I am let down.
