  1. Those look great. Watermelon head/Bluegill skirt is one of my favorite Siebert combinations.
  2. Shallow Shad Raps SSR05 and SSR07 are good options if you want your crank to run shallower. An alternative is to run your SR07 with 10 lb. mono and keep your rod tip up. That'll keep it from getting too deep. Normally I throw Shad Raps on 4-6 lb. mono or 8 lb. Invizx. You neeeed to check out some of the Custom Ink colors now available in the Shad Rap line. The Caribbean Shad and Blueback Herring patterns look amazing.
  3. Rough week. First Quantum, then tungsten, now this. Can't we all just get along?
  4. I fish a lot of plastics and hollow-body frogs. My life is lily pads from June to September.
  5. Put the locking nut into the foregrip like the Avid X.
  6. What sort of price range are you looking for? If you're actually going to drop $260 on a Champion, you can do better for a worm/jig rod. I think all the rods you have listed are sort of average sensitivity-wise. Not bad, but not great. I would throw the 13 *** into the mix as well. Ideally, I'd say call Valley Sports and see what sort of price you can get on a DX743/4.
  7. 7'1" MH or H *** or ***, depending on weights and cover.
  8. It's worthwhile to add in the San Diego Jam knot. Myself and others use it on fluorocarbon with great success.
  9. When do the Browns play the Lions? Suh wants to give him a Welcome-to-the-NFL hug.
  10. Add a dozen weights to your next Siebert order.
  11. The grass is too thick where I fish in summer. I do know a guy who throws 1/2 oz double willow spinnerbaits from April to November. He does alright but I don't see him often during the dog days.
  12. Weather Bug x 1000.
  13. TW has the custom ink Shad Raps. I own two so far; very nice in person. I want a bag of RI Twerk so I can refer to my jig as Miley. That Hobie 17T has my interest. A bass boat is not practical for me and the girlfriend doesn't want to fish out of a solo kayak. I wonder if it will have room for a Boston Terrier...
  14. I think they are just a little overpriced. They catch fish for me. Try the Shallow Shad X-rap in firetiger or perch if bluegill are around.
  15. Shaaaaaaaaaakeyhead.
  16. Nah MBR842's are terrible. Send it to me; my Sol will "dispose" of it for you.
  17. Send it to Grantman. I hear he likes short rods.
  18. Yes. A wet rubberized knotless net seems to be easier on the fish as well.
  19. Owner Twistlock Light 4/0.
  20. They seem a little pricey, but I'm interested. Thanks for the tip.
  21. I'm just getting into using it as a mainline. I like it so far.
  22. Citica G? I'd go for the Citica. The drag star on the Lew's doesn't click and that's a dealbreaker for me.
  23. Northerner here. 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz sizes (1/2 oz too) have their place. The lighter sizes are a smaller presentation that stays up in the water column. The heavier ones are easier to keep down and come through grass better. I trim skirts just below the hook bend; my 1/4's are very small. I want to experiment with sizes around 1 oz for swimming through pads, but that is another post. Tldr: get multiple sizes.
  24. If 6'+ is too long, I would certainly consider the 13 Ambition 5' M rod. $30 with a 1-year warranty is a pretty solid deal.
