Punching Skirt or no skirt?
Start no skirt...if you are catching a lot of dinks then add the skirt to draw bigger bites potentially.

San deigo jam knot????
Another thing to remember is to not cinch it down fast or tightly. The knot should be able to slide BACK up the line if tied properly.

San deigo jam knot????
Sdj for everything. Never ever failed on me. Quick and easy and doesnt leave a long tag end of wasted line.

Tatula Elite Series Rods
The only reason to buy a tat elite over regular tat is for the ags alone. Otherwise save some coin and buy the original.

Can you fish cranks on a soft bottom?
Crankbaits dont need to be run on bottom to catch fish. I fish a lot of silty vegetated lakes and one of my top producers is a shallow running crank that I smack into laydowns or buzz over tops of grass and outside lily pad edges.

Fishing in Cindy's wake
Cindy is upon my area now and I want to fish early tomorrow morning. We expect 2-4 inches of rain today and tonight and winds of up to 10-15 mph tomorrow. I'll be in my kayak and have a couple large ponds to choose from. Assuming they muddy up should I fish the shallow vegetated (pads) pond or the deep pond with lots of standing timber. I can hold kayak in pad fields in strong wind but the other pond I cannot stake out and usually get blown around a lot. Any thoughts on which pond and techniques?

C-Rig vs drop-shot
I use it vertical and horizontal. Caught some nice bass dragging across points like a c-rig. Just need to use right weight

bass not committing at night
Bass not commiting is not a hookset issue...it is a presentation/behavior issue Sometimes bass will just ram topwaters. Happened all day to me with various topwater baits. Switched to a dropshot and I cleaned up.

Some questions on bearings
Listen A small glass jar + brake cleaner + a little shimy shake + a few minutes to soak then dry = perfection. Dont complicate things unless you are routinely dropping your reels into muck and saltwater

Chatterbait freedom
I have a few freedoms. Caught my pb on one. I dont think they run real shallow using the 3/8oz. I use soft jerkbaits as trailers. They are great around wood which is downfall of regular chatterbait. My main issue is their length and having difficulty getting a good hookset.

Bigger frogs
Ive a king daddy. Only caught one bass on it...about a pound and a halfer. Dont throw it much though to be fair. Would rather throw normal frog or bait that will have a higher hook up ratio. King daddy is a lot of plastic.

My new Daiwa Steez A broke after the second use, what to do?
Your first call should have been to me,I would have taken it off your hands. And by "stabalizing pin" I can only assume you mean one of the frame screws. If a frame screw is loose you will have noise while reeling as the gears are not tight in place. Simply tightening the screws should fix any issues. Only other "pin" I can think of is the line guide rail which cannot come out unless you take slide plate off and c clips.

Cheese mats...good or bad?
Its a stringy algea goo that can reach from surface to a few feet deep. When matted and baked in sun itll burn and bubble. If there are canopies I can see bass staying under it but sometimes it is very thick.

Cheese mats...good or bad?
What are yalls thoughts on cheese? I've almost never caught bass through/over them...only sometimes on edges. Do bass avoid thick cheese? It would seem to me that itd get stuck in their gills and be hard to navigate through. All the vegetation Ive been fishing with cheese in it has been unproductive...cleaner mats and cover seem to produce.

Help...post morning bite blues
I was punching spatterdock and lots of it. The ones I caught were in 3 or 4 fow under junk mats. Dead spatterdock mixed with pads that were laying over. Healthy standing spatterdock didnt hold any fish as it let in a lot more light.

Fantasy Fishing
Got the Cliffs both in top 12. Lefbre and Lowen of all people bombed. Gonna have to go with my flw strategy of picking the best guys I can get. Lefebre is having a good year and is a solid angler but my bucket A has to get more than 110 points.

Okuma TCS vs Dobyns Fury
I have both. Caught good fish on both. The okuma looks a bit more high end whereas fury is more barebones. The fury is slightly lighter.

Mem. Day Fishing?
Was out Saturday and sunday. Potential storms kept traffic down. I saw zero boats on saturday...zero. On a very popular lake but we launched deep in a looong no wake zone. Sunday on same lake had some traffic but not as bad as i anticipated
