Tdz Vs Alpha Sv
Thanks for the input. The tdz with abec7 bearings casts great but does get a little wild. I think I need new pads for the tension knob as that could be a reason why it gives me fits. It will be buttoned up and only a slight adjustment makes it near free spool.

Tdz Vs Alpha Sv
What's difference between deep and shallow 1000 other than the obvious? I don't like a lot of line on my spools and usually have considerable amount of backing. Using the duo gfix spinbait will require probably 10lb copoly and still be good enough for poppers and soft jerkbaits.

Tdz Vs Alpha Sv
So if I go spool, should I go 103 or 105. Lightest I'll be going is 1/4. Probably smallest being gfix spinbait and probably 10lb test

New Rod And Reel
High end reels are more important than high end rods. If you don't share my view then maybe you should look to strike a balance between rod and reel quality.

Tdz Vs Alpha Sv
Outside the whole finicky spool tension and brakes. What's the weight on the sv anyway? My tdz+6'6" steez is less than 10 oz. Another point. If I buy sv spool and keep tdz I'm out roughly $100. If I sell TDZ and buy jdm alpha I'm out $50-$60.

Tdz Vs Alpha Sv
I have a tdz 103 in fair shape with some upgrades and was thinking of selling it for an alpha sv. I use tdz on a 6'6" mh rod for multiple techniques. I want to throw small poppers, small jerkbaits, and larger spinbaits with the alpha sv. The tdz can handle the duty but I feel that it may be time to replace it with a fresh new reel. The tdz can be finicky with spool tension and brakes making it difficult to set up for skipping. Is this a fair upgrade or is the bait monkey on my back for no reason?

Anyone Used The Spro Rock Crawler
Caught a couple smallies with em. Good for rocks but not brush. They do not go over limbs well. They are fragile so if you crank rocks you may get a day or two out of em. They have a lot of resistance for a moderate diver. I prefer the lil johns.

Anywhere To Get Ima Roumba?
It'll catch em. It's just a wakebait, I don't throw many wake baits but I'm sure there isn't much difference.

Painting Swimbaits
I have some clear 5 inch hollow body swimbaits with a slight blue back. I'm going to a lake without shad and want to use them but I feel I'd be more successful if they looked like bluegill. So I bought scent it markers in orange black and yellow to doctor them up. Anyone else do anything similar?

Anywhere To Get Ima Roumba?
Easy. Buy 35 more dollars worth of stuff.

Do Hooks Dissolve Under Water?
I've seen a smallie pass a small hook still attached with line to a snap swivel with the swivel still in its anus.

Daiwa Tatula's, How Do You Like Them?
The crank case hurts my fingers on certain reel seats when setting hook, finger gets trapped between case and reel seat. Tatula rods reel seat is designed for this. My other reels are not as wide and the problem doesn't exist.

Black Vs. White Vs. Any Color Frogs
Got a spro frog called 'freak'. Neon green yellow on top with black bottom with yellow accents, like rainforest black. They also have 'the killer' which is milk cow color aka black and white. Best of both worlds.

Jigs-Living Rubber Or Silicone?
Mix of the two. Creates hell of a bulky profile. Add a large flapping trailer and it will float down slowly (ever drop a crawdad into water?) When resting it puffs out and looks like a hell of a meal.

Rod Transportation
My bed is only 5 foot. Laying rods diagonally means they hang over tailgate. I've found a way to Jimmy them into the cab with the dogs. Not perfect but gets job done.

Daiwa Tatula's, How Do You Like Them?
I like mine but after a couple years I've come to dislike their ergonomics.

What To Use This Rod For?
I'll consider it joe...for a bit fairer price. 8 foot tubes are expensive now a days.... I thought about bladed baits for it but I'm usually casting to cover and the times I've used this thing with cranks I've had poor accuracy. There are a couple situations where I could use it to gain a few more yards along rip rap and burning heavy spinnerbaits. There are a couple lakes where I can use the rod to deep crank when fishing alone but my club tends to beat up the banks.

Rod Transportation
Bed is too short, even diagonally I do believe.

Feel Free Kayaks
I know about Hobe but mirage drive was designed more for saltwater fishermen. Being able to stand and propel myself efficiently for pitching heavy cover is important to me. I'll probably go nucanoe but the more I look at feel free the more I like them.

Rod For All Treble Lures?
I like my topwater on my fast action rod with copoly. When I use topwater walling baits on my modfast rod I have to use more energy to snap the slack line.

Rod Transportation
I need some advice on transporting rods. I have 1 pieces to the length of 7'7". I usually store them in truck diagonally from back to front passenger seat. However sometimes I need to take my dogs and I don't have the room. I was thinking of the large bazuka tube and strapping into my shortbed. It is 80 bucks though and was hoping someone knows of a cheaper alternative that would protect my rods while riding in the bed.

Dad has the American hero rod and it's pretty solid buy.
