What about colors? Bone and black?

I'm sorry 14.5 acres. There are 3 musky in there in the 30+ inch range and one is 40+ easily.

I fish a 3 or 4 acre lake and I've come to the conclusion that it's high quality fishing. I've caught numerous 4+ pound largemouth and smallmouth and just today saw a Wolfpack of smallies in the 5 pound range! My PB is 6+ largemouth and have seen others. My question is, why? Pond has one feeder creek with steep banks and standing timber, a large section of riprap, lots of submerged grass, and a couple of rock piles. It has largemouth, smallmouth, bluegill, tiger musky, blue cats, and stocked trout. I'm not complaining but just trying to understand why this small lake is so much better than other similar ponds and lakes I've fished.

Anyone ever take the classic hula grub and put it on a swing jig? Seems to me like it would work well and be a different use for hula grubs other than rigging them on a standard jighead.

Bushings? That'd be a terrible reel.

No thermocline during or after turnover. Thermoclines are clearly visible when there is a a big difference in the density of water.

When you see a lot of organic debris on surface and notice an odor, then you know turnover happened. Fish dirt shallow if you want to catch anything.

I just got a lure 11.5 a couple weekends ago. Love it. Lots of storage and useful compartments and the seat is amazing. Easy to stand in and has a cushioned pad on the standing platform which makes you a quieter angler. The lure does NOT flex. Yeah it can be a pig to paddle but that's what you sacrifice for a wide hull. It's actually fairly fast for its size.

People can spin themselves out with too many colors. When you read about pros color suggestions they all say the same thing. K.i.s.s. If you need to add color to match match, use dyes or markers. With that said, my go to colors are Black blue Green pumpkin black Green Pumpkin red flake Brown and black. Covers all craw combinations and allows you to reduce number of packets of soft plastics as only 2-4 trailer colors are needed.

Any suggestions on a good net for kayak?

Caught a couple dinks last night burning my cranks. I noticed bass following and not committing. Burning and pausing or smacking limbs caused the bass to strike.

For reference the woman who won BASS a couple years ago didn't follow bass fishing and just guessed. I do some research but I don't spin myself out.

I've cranked balsa to the point of nearly spinning out to catch bass in clear water. Cool to see how they followed on normal retrieve but went balls to the wall to eat the crank when it was flying by.

Don't need to set the hook. You may be ripping holes in the fish and when he head shakes the lure pops out. I use mod/modfast for cranks and loose drag.

I was also thinking of a jackal pompador jr. Be easy to work and he has always loved jitterbugs.

Dad's Bday is coming up and I need suggestions on cool/unique lures to get him. He's becoming difficult to shop for so I'd also take other accesories or apparel suggestions.

I am interested in the tat72 glass but it's right at the edge of my budget and I've never fished glass.

I want a bass mafia coffin. A lot of small slots for tackle and maximizes room. Also floats and stands up to being run over by vehicles.

Phenix has always been on my wishlist. It's hard to justify taking that 7'7" specialty rod on kayak or take it to club tournaments as Co angler when I only take 4.

My only problem is that most in the club will make one cast to a badass laydown or skip it entirely. That's without even having a pattern down. Ridiculous.

I personally don't have much slack when frog fishing. In fact the slack I do have helps the bass take frog. If you are tossing jigs spoons and punch rigs and fall on slack line, then 8+ is more useful.
