  1. He was ripping his crank out of grass. I have my drag pretty loose too on cranks, drags are more consistent at lower pressures but won't let the fish peel off like a tuna.
  2. Baby bass and trop perch here. Baby bass doesn't look like much but I'm sure it will in person. That's one thing I've learned about the john series. Should be a great color for clear lakes and shallow timber.
  3. On the market now. Just ordered two!
  4. They are all good. Road kill is my new favorite
  5. Buy 2 or 3 oz weight with eye. Buy a cheap heavy duty snap with no sharp edges. Attach snap and weight then attach to line. Will knock your lure loose and only costs a dollar per knocker.
  6. Not often. Time changing is time I'm not fishing. I usually have 4 rods at least with techniques that cover various scenarios. If one isn't working I pick up another rod. At worst I change colors.
  7. I Like mustad a lot. Very stout and a large bend keeps the bass pinned. Trokar nasty flipping hook is great too. More compact than mustad and noticeably sharper and has a tight bend in the hook that keeps em pinned. Haven't hooked any bass over 2 pounds so it's durability is a question.
  8. A. Zaldain: consistent angler who is due a win. Knows the delta and is low ownership. B. Powroznik: Won two events last year and has low ownership. Also has a lot of tidal experience. C. Hite in bucket c? Score. Take the points as any deal you get likely wont bring in enough points to separate from what Hite will do D. Browning. Experience and high finishes on delta. E. Lindtner: Can't get all low ownership picks. Need to pick a safe angler or two.
  9. Buy mustad denny brauer flipping hook and not worry about it. Trokar makes a great hook too but more expensive
  10. Spro johns hands down
  11. These threads usually pop up after trout stockings. Do the math
  12. Can't wait. Just not sure where they fit in my lineup with the MD series. Maybe I can shorten the bill and have it run shallower
  13. My rof 12 runs crooked My rof5 runs fine A moderate retrieve looks most realistic. Tail doesn't move much at crawling speed
  14. Fishing a Highland reservoir known for quality smallmouth this Saturday and was wanting to throw a dropshot with larger plastics to get bigger bites. I have 8 lb fc leader on a ml rod. Smallest offset hook is 4/0 but I have size 1 owner mosquitos. I have baby dbombs, missile craws, real deal shad, rage craw/menace/shell cracker, and swing impact as options. Are these too large for the equipment?
  15. Anyone have the 7' Crankbait/Jerk Okuma TCS rod? I have the 7' All Purpose Casting model that I use for shallow and medium cranks that has a mod fast tip. I've enjoyed it so much that I'm considering making it my single hook reaction bait rod. I'd like to know just how slow the crank rods action is. It is labeled as moderate. The APC bends quite a bit probably 35% down the rod. I really like daiwa but in that price range I don't feel like they have a good cranking rod (glass tatula is a little pricy and heavy) as even their "regular" action is still fairly fast, maybe moreso than TCS APC.
  16. Or work for oil/gas and make good money buy a boat and spend your 2 weeks off every month fishing until you start winning tournaments. Don't go to college if you think you have to. Go to college because you want to.
  17. I have a daiwa t3 1016. Light spool for effortless pitches, quick ipt, and you can engage reel without turning handle.
  18. It's not invisible and it's not low stretch. Two specific brands are low stretch and they cost $40+. I use flouro for cranks and as a top shot for flipping and pitching. Everything else gets braid
  19. Is what the bass were saying all day today. Rootbeer chartreuse spro was killing em. New favorite crank color by far!
  20. Maybe your paypal balance didn't have enough funds and you needed to select an account to finish transaction. What did they even say the 11 dollars was for? I doubt they just called you and demanded it.
  21. Any of the chartreuse colors. Lava craw and pearl work too. You want solid loud colors to stand out from the mud. Natural colors will break up the outline and make them harder to zone in on for the bass.
  22. A lot of southern wv lakes have spots
  23. My picks helped me jump 50% in overall score after Sabine flop. All my picks were in the top 35
