I'd get two. One Medium/fast or Xfast spinning and one MH/fast casting. I'd get *** rods and Probably pick a Lew's LFS and one of the Pfleuger Supremes for the spinner. Two killer combos for right around $400. Of course you'll still need line but hey, that's another thread entirely. Edit: Didn't see you already have combos. In that case I'd go towards building your dream rig for your favorite presentation or maybe a froggin' setup.

I have a question- I've seen the navionics site, and if I use the program with a sonarphone does it automatically share the map with the site? I don't ever want to give away my treasure map haha

In the most basic terms, swimbaits go in a straight line and the tail wiggles. Glide baits make a big swoopy "S" pattern. Very exaggerated motion. Both are really fun if you have a lot of patience.

No they aren't. They're closer but still nothing like the clear stuff. I have Ti recoil guides on most of my rods so trust me when I say I've been through a ton of braids looking for that golden goose. Smackdown is by far the quietest braid I've ever used... And you pay for that. I feel it's well worth it though, as it's much thinner diameter too. I use 40# on my frog rod and 15# on my finesse casting setup. For my ML spinning rod though, I just switched back over to 8# nanofil because of the tiny diameter, no stretch, smoothness and cost. It is a weird line in the higher ratings but the tiny stuff is great. I forgot how much I like it in the lighter lines. freakin' perfect for Ned rigs and drop shot or light river tackle.

Have you guys ever heard of "Hunter's Bacon"?? It's bacon but fully smoked- it looks raw but it's good to eat. I had some about two weeks ago and it blew my mind. If there was a place that sold it around here I would be in HUGE trouble.

I have to pass my PB&J secret on. Toast two blueberry eggo waffles and use them as the bread. The crispness helps keep it from getting mushy and the little squares lock in all the goodness. I love them for skiing because I can wrap them in foil and stuff them in a pocket and they're rigid enough to not get crushed.

Edit: Well now I feel bad for having spoken ill of them- checked again this morning just because I'm obsessive and it is on it's way and on schedule. It still says "on hold" at the top but tracking is active and en route. Sorry TW, I guess I'm the azzhat today! lol

Wouldn't you know it, those azzhats were planning on holding the order up until the out of stock item arrived- which was a livetarget sunfish - not due until late winter!!! Now I'm officially not going to have them for the occasion I had specifically paid extra to have the stuff by. Color me not happy one bit.

Do you do the jack-knife style crossover stretch? It's the only thing that can relieve my lower back pain. I get badly misaligned and have to crossover pop it back in or it becomes excruciating as the tension builds. Sometimes if I throw it out bad I have to rest for a day or two and then see my chiro for massage/realignment if I can't express it myself. Can't say it enough though- if you can't get it to "let go"... Go see a really good chiro. You will know if there is nagging tension where you feel like you have to stretch it out but can't. I went through two months of not being able to stand up and with constant "binding" pain before I bit the bullet and did it- like flipping a switch I tells ya. People who are healthy will tell you it's witch doctory but man... No BS I was a hunched over old man for two months, walked out pain free. If it's black magic I don't even care. It's not a cure-all but when I need it (if i hurt myself bad) I go.

I love EDM, but Dubstep is just awful. I can give you far better avenues, man... That robot porn lowest common denominator Dubstuff just kills me. Ugh.

Uuuuh, not to break up the rage parade or anything but you buy ribs by weight, not bone count. If you got a "full rack" and a "9er" that both weigh the same, it's more than likely the 9er will have more meat. Aaaaand now back to your regularly scheduled freakout.

I personally don't like the waxy coating on 832. Can't stand it, actually. Double palomars a get ugly in a hurry and it can be quite grabby. Also the line you're using a month in is simply not the line you spooled on- the coating wears off and it changes. Not really a fan of that. I vastly prefer Smackdown as it is thinner, smoother, more supple and casts over the moon in comparison to any other I've tried. SX1 and FX2 are also fantastic lines and VERY tough but I run recoil guides and smoothness is a bigger deal to me so I run Smackdown. If I ran other guides is likely have stuck with these lines- SX1 for 30# and under, FX2 for 40# and up.

It's funny to me because the black max was my first BC combo- I lost my cap too! I think it's largely a function of not seeing what you're expecting to see by turning the knob and continually loosening it until it just falls off into the water. OP either temper your expectations and accept that it's not going to cast any farther or always make sure you have the drag star aligned with the top of the cap as a safety stop. It doesn't have room to come off if the drag star arm is above it. Also mentally make sure you're ready if it was to come off. Third time's the charm I hear!

I throw... My hands up and just be thankful I can be out there. Soaking up the moment and surrounded by some of my favorite things in a beautiful place. If I can't buy a bite I will usually tie on something new and just mess with it to get familiar with it's action and get dialed. Sometimes trying too hard can be a problem in and of itself IMO.

It's just like anything else, OP. Some can afford and want a Lamborghini, but a Hyundai will obviously suffice. We should draw no inference to someone else's situation from our own and while it's fun to think about, it's bound to ruffle feathers- to some it will sound insane and to others it's a dream they hope to one day realize- others still have a whole pile and wouldn't have it any other way. Different strokes my friends! That's why they make more than one flavor of ice cream and more than one combo! I say do what makes you feel fulfilled and happy and don't waste a single second worrying about whether someone else agrees. I just say cheers to the state of general affairs in the fishing world- we are truly lucky to exist in a time that so many options are out there!

The wiggle wogs are a pretty cool alternative to normal frogs. They definitely get hit but just be ready to wail on 'em to set the hook. Also be sure to check your hooks. I had to send one back because it was irreparably misaligned and ran crooked.

Not really. My favorite is frogs but there are just places where they just don't work. If you can find a place the shaky head doesn't work, it's because there aren't any fish!

Wow $30?! Noooope!! I'd rather just make one out of stainless sheet metal and a bike handlebar grip. Weld-seal the handle and it would float too. Definitely makes sense for quick corrections or cleaver-chops to encroaching boats/sasquatch/nagging wives.
