Do You Struggle?
The key I have learned with only jig fishing for two years now is practice. I pitch and flip in my yard every night. And I fish 2-3 days a week uaully two evenings and one full weekend day. My skills are still improving I master one skill and then learn the other arm. I'm no pro but I can put the jig where I want evey time- almost also I've learned the importance of pitching or flipping a log wait 3 seconds bounce it an wait 3 more seconds then I slowly reel it in swimming the jig and stopping on every log/ rock I hit. The slower the better it seems. And I increased my numbers just by swimming the jig back to the boat I have probably caught 100 lbs or better of fish in that past year and a half after I started swimming just on the swim back . With the guys who have never felt the bite or caught a fish on the jig once you do it you never forget it. Once you feel the bite you start adapting to it. It seems most my fish are caught with no bump or tick just nothing. Like ill flip up and my line won't fall or won't move like I expect And for the price of jigs I love using cheap jigs. If you loose them who cars I usually go with the BPS kits and buy better trailers. The yum money craw is my favorite trailer I bite it down and that seems to be my best. I like the pricey jog but losing 30 bucks in 5 jigs sucks I'd flratherloose thirty or 20 jigs that's jut my $0.02

Why The Heavy Flippin Stick Craze. I'm Staying Mh
I mean by no means am I a pro. But I've never seen a reason to go bigger than 50lb braid. I have a crankbait rod with 50lb braid for never ever losing crankbaits to stumps and brush and I straitened treble hooks before that line snaps. I usually with break my 40lb florou leader at my uni to uni before I break off on the braid

That MOJO flipping stick doubles as a push pole when I Need it lol. I guess I know what your saying Martin I have realized I have had less flying dinks and less turn arounds on big fish

Whats Your Most Interesting Find While Fishing ?
Flats fishing in tampa bay i had something pull my ST Croix legend inshore rod and penn spinfisher reel out of the rod holder when no one was looking and about 3 hours later my dad caught string ray 4 foot wide with a circle hook it its mouth that look oddly familiar and at the end off 200 yds of braid was my 300 dollar combo i thought was a goner.

Why The Heavy Flippin Stick Craze. I'm Staying Mh
The majority of my fishing is flipping/pitching. whether its large T-rigged creature baits, tubes, large jigs or even finesse jigs. I usually have 2-3 rods ready to flip a variety of different ways depending on the conditions. the setup is always an ABU GARCIA reel. normally my MGX or my 2 STX all spun with 30 lb power pro. For a while i was hooked on 7'6" MH pitching rod and a 7'11'' H ST CROIX MOJO BASS on all three reels Before the spawn I bought an ABU GARCIA Veritas 7' MH for better skipping control under docks and laydowns. after my first day with that rod i put down the MOJO bass and went to all three on the 7 MH veritas micro guide. the control and accuracy i got out of that rod were amazing. not to mention how light that rod was compared to the others Now i know the theory and reason for the 8ft heavy rods but I have yet to have the rods under perform. i have no trouble getting the fish out of their holes. Plus DICKS sporting goods has a very loose return policy if i break one. and i seem to always get a good hook set. Does anyone else solely flip/pitch the lighter rods. in my group of guys Im the only one that has no variety. but in every situation I have encountered the lighter microguide has surpassed its competition which were designed for the task. whats yalls take Brent

yeah I have done great at Lake Prince this year my best day was a 7.02 and two back to back 6'ers on a 5/16 perch colored jog and pig. and i consistently pull large bass out of prince. the other Suffolk lakes and Portsmouth lakes haven't seemed to produced since the spawn. I think its the aerators in prince keeping the bass active. my issue is i know how to finesse fish and have all the gear. its just every time i go out to only finesse fish/drop shot/Carolina rig deep i find my self flipping and worming creature baits and jigs in 3-18 feet of water. I've done decent on swim jigs. but cant seem to ever get the bite thats keeps me hooked like the flip

Hi my name is brent. I live in Hampton roads if anyone wants to fish. I do the majority of my fishing for largemouth and some striped bass when there hot on top water. Grew up in south Florida flipping slop, pads, and cattails and worming almost year around trying to adapt my southern stye habits from shallow. Dense muddy lakes to clear deep reservoirs. Any tips would be awesome . Thanks guys- brent
