I'm hearing the new JDM scorpian mgl has the same clicking drag as the new Antares. Can anyone confirm? Also, what model US shimano reel would you compare this too? I'm considering on getting it over a second metanium mgl as I prefer longer rods so being the lightest reel isn't really that big of a deal. It seems like their technology's are similar.

Ever since I got my first longer casting rod (7'6 *** MHM) I realized how much more comfortable it was to have a longer butt end. When I measure the but end of the rod I measure from the U shaped piece you your hand rests against when you're holding the rod. On the longer rods I really loved the 11.5 to 12+ inch handles. it just feel like you're ready to jack any fish at any moment because the handle is all the way down the forarn. I was also talking to someone that mentioned that longer butt ends would only help left handled guys and hurt right handled people, why is that? In addition can anyone recommend what brands and models to look at that have longer handles? Kistler helium 3s are a rod I love and I could even be fine with the 7 footers but the handle is too short to me. Even the KLX zolo 7'6 brawler had about an 11 & 1/4 handle. Mind you a lot of places measure from the beginning of the reel seat, I don't. Your hands always going to be against the U shape so why not measure from there.I'd rather fight a fish with my arm than my wrist.

I am planning on getting into jerkbait fishing this spring. I recently just purchased several megabass 110s to try out. I would like to avoid buying a new dedicated jerkbait rod and repurpose something I currently own. The closest thing that seems to fit the bill is a castaway skelton v2 6'10 medium fast tops and tails model. 1/4 - 5/8. Id be throwing it on an chronarch mgl or met mgl. Is 30lb smackdown braid too much if I'm using an 6-8lb floro leader?

Should I use electrical tape or just mono? I don't mind either just want it to work. Thank you

I do have braid on, 30lb seaguar smackdown with no backing. I've never used backing and never had an issue. You think that's it? My met works fine. Also these are my first higher end reels. I've been using straight braid on my lews for years without any issue.

Thank you, if you loop the tape lip right passed the two inch mark what is the measurement from there to the end? That's how I usually measure because that's where your hands sits

I've been looking for a great bottom contact rod to throw light to middle weight jigs and dark sleepers on. Does anybody have an opinion on their preference between these two? The megabass braillist is supposed to be that rod but I've heard people say they are beautiful but just not that sensative. *Are the enox micro guides going to be a braid to leader issue? *is the Enox $80 better than the zolo? To me it sounded like the enox is the helium 3 to the Klx, just a bit faster. I guess I should call Alex lol
