KVD line and lure is worth every penny. I spray it on the night before, and once while fishing.

I use finesse worms mostly for mojo rigging, split shot rigging, or drop shotting. A weightless finesse worm is overlooked and can be lethal. A standard carolina rig is good too.

Since I often start out before sunrise, I usually start with a buzzbait or rage shad. Then I move to quieter topwaters like a popper or walking bait. If the topwaters aren't working or the water is too cold for them I almost always start with a spinnerbait.

What are your favorite deep diving cranks with bodies under 3" long that diver 15 feet or deeper? So far the SK 5 XD is my favorite, though it tops out right around 15' on 10 pound fluoro.

I use P - Line 100% fluoro. Anyone else here try it? Seems really good with little memory and good strength. I use it in 10 pound test on my spinning reels for ice fishing but have yet to try it in open water situations.

That's the exact bait I nailed them on last week. No monsters but 2 - 4 pounders all day. Green Pumpkin is just about the best color around for clear or lightly stained water.

For me, I use a 1/4 ounce parasite weight generally, will go heavier for deeper water or when it's windy. The Pit Boss gets a 3/0 EWG, the full sized brush hog a 4/0 EWG. The Baby is a much thinner bait, so a 1/0 EWG is great, as is a 2/0 regular offset hook. For punching a 1 ounce tungsten weight and a bobber stop, they go through thick mats better than a parasite weight.

Try 10 pound P - Line 100% Fluoro. Works great and has a thin diameter. Apply generous amounts of KVD L and L Conditioner and you are good to go.

For colors, you need natural crayfish, brighter crayfish, firetiger, chartreuse, bluegill/sunfish, and shad colors. Natural forage colors are best in clear water, brighter colors in heavily stained or murky.

Baby brush hawg smoked 'em for me last time out I love throwing them. Pit boss seems more consistent though.

The only reason I don't fish fluoro with jigs is that I'm a line watcher and it's hard for me to see. I use bright mono and a long fluoro leader.

Toughie, but mine is a pit boss.

In clear water, few colors are better than good old green pumpkin and watermelon type colors. In stained, I like tequila sunrise, black red, black blue, white, lemon, and chartreuse colors. Murky, I would go for black, black/blue, bubblegum, and junebug.

I walk them in more open areas, with thicker vegetation I chug them to make more noise and bring more attention to the frog.

I like a 5 something ratio for all crankbaits for the most part.

I'm spooling it with 10 pound fluoro and using it for deep cranking. Wish they made one a little slower but this will be slow enough.

I have three, a 7' Medium for smaller and medium cranks and light topwaters, a 7' MH for spinnerbaits, heavier topwaters and heavier squarebills, and a 7'11" MH for deep cranks. Great rods all around.

Suffix Elite is good too.

Original Stren. Has a bit more memory than Trilene XL but it is a lot more durable. Some KVD L and L makes it a great limp mono.

For clear water under most sky conditions, I use baby bass, arkansas shiner, green pumpkin, natural shad, and watermelon type colors. Don't overlook white either, it's good anytime. For sunny conditions and very clear waters, smoke and smoke shad type colors are great. For stained, white, lemon shad, chartreuse, bubblegum and white ice.

Buzzbait, rage shad, and jitterbug.

I fish frogs once the weeds get thicker. I throw them right underneath overhangs where there is some shade, close to the bank, and will slowly walk them with pauses until I'm away form the cover, then reel in and throw again. The other pattern is thick weeds. Throw them right on top of the weeds and work them back, making some noise. When you reach a pocket, pause on the edge for as long as 30 seconds, then walk until you hit more weeds. This should get you some bites.
