Terminators are great spinnerbaits, well worth the money.

Skitterpops can make anything from a tiny little blip to a big, splurping bloop. The Pop'n Image is another good blooper.

Finesse plastics, especially soft jerks like flukes and sluggos or soft sticks like senkos. You just can't go wrong with them in clear water.

Trilene XL is too brittle and degrades quickly, even if your fishing open water. Original Stren and P - Line CX Premium are by far the best lower memory monos that still have some strength to them. They have a little memory but it's more than manageable.

With hollow frogs I only do well with them in the summer and in heavy cover. It's a seasonal bite but red hot oftentimes.

A 7' heavy power with fast action is best for sloppin' with frogs. I will go with a medium rod with a fast action for buzzin' frogs and rage shads.

That's exactly what digging in is. The line gets embedded in itself between the the wraps. When you tighten up the line the way your dad did the line gets evenly wrapped around the spool one wrap next to each other. Pretty cool. When you reel in, it should feel as if your reeling yourself in as you walk. That's how tight I get it. My baitcasters cast so smooth after doing this. My wife and neighbors think I'm nuts though, "There he goes again tying up his fishing pole to the tree again". You only have do it once. The length of line that is used for casting will be loose but underneath that will be rock hard and will come off the spool easily when it is needed. I do that too and the neighbors give me funny looks! ;D

Yes I have 12 pound diameter on, so it should be easier.

I prefer mono for swimbaits.

I like to fish floating frogs slow, walking or chugging them short distances over cover, with long pauses, especially near openings or edges of vegetation.

What would be the smallest diameter braid you guys would use on a baitcaster to keep the line from digging into itself?

The buzzbait works better in open water, the frog works better right through weeds and other surface cover.

With no regard like that, they deserve the fullest punishment under the law. I just wish it applied to the CDOW and USFWS for what they are doing in my state, killing largemouth and smallmouth in our rivers and leaving them to rot on the banks.

I've never used any of them, but just about everybody says the KVD stuff works wonders.

Mepps spinners sure will catch bass, both largemouth and smallmouth. Panther martins are better spinners but Mepps are sturdier. Great in heavily fished lakes, in rivers for smallies, and when fish are pretty finicky.

Stanley does make a floating ribbit frog as well, but do they truly float?

Braid works fine for cranks, especially smaller ones, but I do like to combine it with a glass or glass/graphite rod. I don't have many throw the hooks when I have a rod with some give in it. Braid is also good if you want to increase the depth your cranks dive.

Both are good and draw lots of strikes. They take on a lot of water at times so I would caulk the hook hole and then use a paper punch to pop a small hole in the frog near the hook tie on TOP of the frog.

So your talking about the croaker frog from R2S? Never have had them sink or take on much water?

The Madd Maxx frog is now much softer than it was before and it seems to collapse easier than the spro.

I plan on buying a couple phat frogs.
