Peanut butter. yes Jelly. yes Bread. yes Milk. yes I'm not picky....take all that natural this and organic that and...well....never mind....if I REALLY get a wild hair, I'll pull it apart and put cheetos in the middle
  2. As one of the fogs said on here recently: First tap is the fish taking in your lure. Second tap is the fish spitting out your lure. Third tap is him tapping you on the shoulder asking why you didn't set the hook. sorry I can't attribute properly...crs.....but I'd like to because it's one of those things from BR that really stuck with me
  3. Those look pretty sweet --- like what I'd have designed if I thought long and hard about it --- right length, bulk and likely action monkey's tummy is growling
  4. First broke 6 this year. Twice. Both on Rage Tails: one on green Cut-R, one on green Bug I'm fascinated by the range of replies. Guess that's what keeps this interesting and also keeps the Bait Monkey alive and kicking
  5. I'll qualify my reply by saying that I don't fish tournaments....you guys are a little wacky about this at times..... But, for me, I always enjoy talking to other fishermen on the water about what's working and what isn't that day. I don't hesitate.
  6. Thanks for the story. Ten minutes or so, huh? I always wondered how long it would take a hooked fish to get back into the game. Figured the trauma would last more than ten minutes, but have been curious about it.
  7. Not trying to be antagonistic, but I don't understand. I've always blamed line twist on rigs and line - say, a weightless, swivel-less fluke on 10 lb Stren, for example. But since the mechanics of spinning reels are all pretty much the same, I didn't/don't comprehend how one could be 'worse' than others.
  8. I found this interesting.....anyone else try rigging a trailer vertically? I can see it possibly working on a swim jig; and maybe even a chatterbait or spinnerbait.....probably not on a 'regular' jig, I suppose
  9. I've never tied my own before....however, I've got a couple of good jigs currently naked. I've got skirts and rubber collar kit for spinnerbaits, but I'd like to try wire-tying these two. I assume that I can do so with a couple pair of pliers and a pair of dikes? What kind of wire should I be shopping for?
  10. Kevin, he's just a Joker. Take the money and run.
  11. I used Stren for a long time, also. I never realized how bad the memory was messing with me until I switched to hybrid. What little Stren I have left is relegated to leader material.
  12. I agree with Tank. Go lighter and go the hybrid route to start. I like Yo-Zuri a lot. I also like P-Line. I especially like P-line with the $7 rebate through this month when you buy two spools - makes it basically BOGO.
  13. Thanks, Raul. BTW, I meant to thank you for the OP. Great vid.
  14. Does anyone have a link to the other, older video discussed, "Bigmouth?"

  16. I've got the 3504 so I could keep buzzbaits in it, too. Works fine - though it does seem to take up an inordinate amount of space -- largely because it isn't flat like the other 360's in my bag(s).
  17. Wow. Patriarch? Under warranty, though, correct? Did they make it right for you? If not a Patriarch, then what...and how does this help TA1?
  18. Agreed! Thanks,especially, for the insight,Fishwhittler
  19. What's working fellas? Spent much of last Sunday on the rez -- very good numbers in the morning, though nothing bigger than 3 1/2. Things shut down around 11 and never picked up again before I came off around 4. Beating the banks with flukes and worms produced a lot of fish, but nothing to write home about. I'm marking a LOT of the Occoquan Summer Suspenders between 16 and 22 feet, but they aren't interested in anything I put in front of them. Headed out again this weekend and looking for suggestions.
  20. Do you guys get any size with these? I've pretty much stopped throwing 2 inch cranks (other than lipless) due to hooking dinks exclusively.
  21. Sorry...I hadn't seen that you have trouble getting Lews gear. I assume you've talked to Tackle Warehouse and/or Valley Sports?
  22. I've got two baitcast reels; an AG Orra SX, and a Lews SS1. I like both, but prefer the Lews. It has been just a tad smoother and seems a little less finicky to adjust. With Lews $20 rebate (til 7/31), its a no-brainer, IMHO.

  24. Can't argue that Siebert and Rage go great together! Now....Mike and Bobby, if you could put some Cut-R's on Siebert shelves, I wouldn't have to buy my Rage plastics anywhere else......please.
