How does the Bass-X handle on a spinning reel ? Any excessive coils when casting (* #8 lb. line size and below) ? I never go above .010 (#8 lb. line size) as a main line on spinning reels due to handling issues . Of course , using heavier strength FC lines as braid to leader is fine .

While I have not tried yet - I can certainly see some possible techniques (i.e. Square Bill Crank Baits , Chatterbaits , Spinnerbaits, etc.) where you might want a little more "give" to the line while still appreciating more abrasion resistance versus Mono line .

I like a co-poly type line such as Yozuri Hybrid or P-line C-XX in #12 lb. to #15 lb. (both are very strong for their line weight and have some give to them) .

*Be careful around wood !! ... Chatterbaits hang up in , around and going over wood / laydowns very easy - you are better off using a spinnerbait around any wood / laydowns !!

I believe the Netbait T-Mac color is called : Green Pumpkin / Texas Red .

It appears having the 3/0 and 4/0 in the G-Power Flip & Punch would cover most uses - I can't see where the 5/0 would get much use in this series .

There needs to be more green pumpkin with gold / silver combo blades offered for waters where blue gill are dominant . Most stores who even offer a Green Pumpkin spinnerbait offer very few versus White or White / Chartreuse.

For your typical 3.5" ~ 4" beaver style, soft plastic flipping bait - what hooks and size are you using ? This appears to be a good "sweet spot" as the hook is nether too stout or too light , has a nice gap and soft plastic holder ... *Your thoughts and experiences ?

*What is your opinion on water color as it relates to chatterbait usage ? A lot of Pros say it's not a good lure for clear or slightly stained water (that might not include fishing a chatterbait on an overcast day or fishing a chatterbait early or late in low light conditions) ?

Move up to the next size jig head weight (1/8th oz. -> 3/16th oz -> 1/4 oz. -> 3/8th oz. ) Use #10 lb. FC leader the length of your rod . Use Daiwa J X8 Grand Braid in #15 lb. line size . I have no issues with paddle tail swim baits from 3" to 5" in length with above set up - sinks just fine .

That about covers all but the dead of Winter in Kansas - which means here in Georgia I can and should try a chatterbait just about year round .

I've heard and read Pros state the best seasons to fish a chatterbait / bladed jig are : " Fall and Winter" ... Does this align with your experiences - or do you find Spring and Summer can also produce for the chatterbait / bladed jig ?

FC coated co-polymer lines have not really done all that well in the market (except Yozuri Hybrid) . The reason is the P-Line FloroClear had / has a bad reputation for breakage below the stated pound strength - that turned a lot of fishermen off of using it . Many moved on to budget friendly FC lines like Seaguar Red Lable , or simply wait until higher priced FC lines go on sale - then stock up .

I don't see an addiction problem at all ! ... I only see an educated bass fisherman here making a great value line purchase .

My spinning combos stop at Medium / Fast before I switch over to a bait casting set up ... Anyone use a MH / F spinning rod set up with a 3000 / 4000 size reel for heavier bass tactics ?

A 30 degree vertical line tie is a must for me - I agree with your other comments but do like variations on Green Pumpkin and Shad colors to go along with Black & Blue .

I can do fine with the 3.25" & the 3.75" lengths ... If I had to choose one it would be the 3.75" version .

The majority of spinnerbaits come either in White or Chartreuse / White colors for day usage or Black / Black variation colors for night bass fishing . Cole Slaw and now Red / Red Orange are colors making their way into spinnerbait line ups ... *Has anyone had success with a Green Pumpkin / Green Pumpkin Bluegill variation with a tandem blade (gold / silver or other color combination) to imitate small panfish for bass instead of shad ? A lot of folks would simply switch to a Green Pumpkin variation swim jig or chatter bait to imitate panfish / bluegill but I believe a spinnerbait might have a future in Green Pumpkin variation - instead of all the white / chartreuse shad colors normally found in spinnerbait colors . Your thoughts and experiences with panfish color (Green Pumpkin variation) spinnerbaits ?

If you had to pick only one color between the two above (GP or GP Magic) which one would you choose ? I am inclined to go with Green Pumpkin Magic because if it sunny you have a bit of sparkle with the added flakes that Green Pumpkin is missing to attract bass. If its cloudy , then the Green Pumpkin Magic is dull (i.e. no flake sparkles) and would simply look more like standard Green Pumpkin , so a win - win for the Green Pumpkin Magic color in both sunny and cloudy conditions ... Which one would you choose ?
