  1. It's a real balancing act to get a good 1.5 squarebill rod - provide enough stiffness for casting accuracy and lure deflection while being parabolic enough to keep bass buttoned up while reeling them in .
  2. Atta boy - Glenn comes through again with a top rate pro video !!
  3. Nice combo - what weight do you prefer in the Owner EWG Block Head above ?
  4. What is your current favorite squarebill 1.5 rod ? What are the main attributes you look for in a good squarebill 1.5 rod that won't break the bank (under say $175) ?
  5. Abu Garcia ,Daiwa , Lew's , Shimano in 6:3:1 gear ratio under $150 will serve you well ...
  6. What about hook size and type ? Some prefer 2/0 ~ 4/0 EWG hooks while others use 3/0 ~ 4/0 straight shank flipping hooks - your experiences ?
  7. Strike King Flashy Swimmer + Keitech Swing Impact Fat : 1/0 size + 3.3" 3/0 size + 3.8" ~ 4.3" 5/0 size + 4.8"
  8. Read where a recent Elite Pro downsized to a soft stick worm in 4" length to flip near shore vegetation (after no luck flipping with larger , more traditional craws and beaver soft plastics ). I thought this was interesting - do you flip simple soft stick worms in 4" ~ 5" and if so , what do you like ?in stick worms / set up ?
  9. Good video - but swimbait in the video is 3.3" (not 4.3") .
  10. More soft plastics in the Tilapia color for bass lakes where bluegill are the main forage .
  11. Netbait used to offer this Chartreuse Shad color in their finesse worms - great color for spotted bass in clear water !
  12. Zoom , Net Bait , Strike King , Big Bite Baits , Z-Man and lately X-Zone.
  13. Now we have the Z-Man "Micro - Ned" (Ned Jr.) system for when you need to down - size from the standard Ned for pressured fish accustomed to the standard Ned ! Seriously , the new Micro Ned on tiny jig heads is for panfish (6' spinning L/F rod with 4 lb. FC line or #5 lb. braid + leader) . Great for bluegills . crappie and 1 lb. bass .
  14. Booyah Pad Crasher Jr. Booyah Popping Pad Crasher Jr. Scum Frog Small Dog *The above are good value small frogs that will work well - buy one with a black belly and one with a white belly - then green or yellow would cover the bases for you ... Your rod and line set up are great - good luck !
  15. Great air brush kit suggestions ! ... Where art , science and the love of custom colored hard bait bass lures come together !
  16. Another great video Glenn - thanks ! A number of us (myself included) have been curious about fishing swim worms but do not have much experience with them. *Also seems like swim worms could be a versatile , successful soft plastic soft plastic from the bank as well .
  17. *Not as boring as Drop Shot fishing ! Branch out into other Ned Rig offerings besides a Z-Man TRD : X Zone , Strike King , Missile Baits , etc. all make good Ned soft plastics with good color selections.
  18. I am coming to believe that fishing and choosing hard jerk baits is an art / science unto itself !
  19. What are your current all-around hard Jerk Baits for largemouth and smallmouth bass ? Brands , sizes , colors , etc. that are your go-to when you use hard jerk baits ? Also - do you fish them stock right out of the package or do you change out hooks , add heavier split rings , etc. to have jerk baits suspend properly ?
  20. Good to know ! Testing is fun - I bought a small spool of 15 lb. AbrazX for hopping craw imitating jigs around rip rap . Like you shared , InvizX is more of the all purpose FC line (cranking , T-Rig worms , soft paddle tail swim baits , etc.)
  21. For your application : 6'6" ~ 6'10" M / MF / F (braid + leader) ; F / XF (straight mono / co-poly) . *Good suggestions above - might also double as a jerk bait rod as well .
  22. Seaguar InvizX or AbrazX on bait cast reels in higher l(15+ lb.) line strengths ?
  23. I know this doesn't answer your question - but if Ned is getting hung up , try 1/16th oz. max Ned jig head weight (or even the 1/24th oz. Z-Man Ned jig head) may work better and not dig down in the rip rap near as much.
  24. Glenn goes basic old school with this video - what's not to like ? Bass Fishing Plastic Worms From Shore | Video | The Ultimate Bass Fishing Resource Guide® LLC (bassresource.com) .
