  1. That Tatula is pretty sweet from the sounds of it. How well do you think the levelwind will hold up and does it cast easier and further? What size line and lure you throwing? and did you catch any?
  2. How about the extreme anyone use it?
  3. Thank you DVT and Trey and jtesch
  4. Hey good info I like the looks of the Tatula .Its new so if ya can keep me posted how it works out for you.So far so good. The type r looks good too.Thank you, very interesting reel I have owned some cheaper Daiwas and they worked well.
  5. Do boca's make a big difference? What kind (orange ? size ?number of bearings) and if anyone knows about abec's 5,7 and I think 9?Very curious what would be best for ease of casting.
  6. I think the Rick Clunn is a PQ with another bearing and a heavier spool. The spool is not ported like the PQ so I drilled holes in it and it seems to cast easier. Can't barely ever backlash the thing unless I snag a tree or something.I think the original spool design was to enable more inertia towards the end of the cast for casting heavy lures further.By drilling holes in the spool I may have taken away some of the inertia to keep the spool spinning, but to be honest it casts with less effort and has considerable distance. To me I don't believe I lost anything. Does anyone know why the don't offer the Rick Clunn anymore? Anyway this reel and PQ I believe with proper cleaning and maintenance are really great reels.
  7. Thanks for your input.I will just leave the drag washers alone until I get the grease you have suggested.
  8. Thank you good info Bobp.
  9. Spinnerbaits, sounds funny but they seem to work pitchin'
  10. I appreciate the info I need all I can get ,sometimes I get stripers when bass fishing, one I caught was 27 pounds on 12 pound test I had just respooled onto a Abu c3 lite and the drag just happened to work perfectly.(no grease)but I notice some drags are stickier than others and my Revo Stx gen3 is a little sticky on the upper end. i
  11. I have a Rick Clunn Bps and I like it little heavy but works well.
  12. i think x2.......... you mean ditto?
  13. Thank you,Does regular grease ruin the drag washers somehow?
  14. Its smooth in the lower end but sketchy when its in the upper end or tighter.Just wanted to see if it was safe to grease the carbon washers.
  15. How about simple Berkley grease or Ardent?I used the Berkley on an old Daiwa I have It seems to work, I was concerned I might ruin the felt like carbon washers in the Revo Stx gen3.
  16. Do you know can or should I grease the carbon drag washers on a Revo Stx gen 3?
  17. Yes I have a Daiwa(older) and it has the least backplay of my other reels.Thank you for all the input. It is just the way they are made it appears. My Revo Stx performs well so far .
  18. ............. after i had put it back together.Fished today with it caught two nice fish but noticed a little extra play in the handle.Maybe I did something wrong? Its only a small amount but it seems to be more than before.
  19. I will try to take apart and look over it.I had it apart a while ago then noticed a little extra backplay.
