  1. Just keep the rod tip down and your line tight to keep the fish from jumping to much. Those are the best fish. I caught a fatty similarly with the "Ooh, let me try here before I go"
  2. PB 5 1/2 lb New Jersey Cow And this sad excuse
  3. Thought the chill might of shut things down... I guess not because the frog bite was on. Got off work early and decided to hit a pond I've only been to once in February of this year. Cast my black BPS Kermy towards a patch of isolated pads on the sunny side of the pond and had something swipe at it twice but third time is the charm... CAUGHT MY FREAKN' PB at 5 1/2 lbs! Oh, and I caught this one also...
  4. It's a great bag, and worth the money IMO.
  5. And when Dick's has them for buy one get one... or buy two and get one... They're even better.
  6. Usually if it is a snug fit and has adjustable straps that wrap over the trailer rails or even the hull of the boat and has attachment points on the cover itself, it's a travel cover. Mine has adjustable straps that go around the trailer frame and run thru loops on my cover. Mine fits pretty snug with the pedestal butt seat in the front and pedestal chair in the back. This is how I have to install my cover if I'm going to travel with it on per the instructions from my boat cover manufacturer.
  7. I have this one, but the older model that's black and red. Iv'e had it for 3 years and it's still in one piece. It comes with 3 trays in the bottom, and the top is a cooler. There's a flap that you can lift and it will get rid of the cooler section so you have more space to slide in bigger trays. I used to carry everything in that bag and it got tiresome. Now I've downsized my tackle because I've learned what works well at all the lakes and ponds I fish from the bank. So now I just leave it on when I'm fishing.
  8. I always buy them. They can't be beat for the price and they catch fish. I did stray a bit and bought a couple of BPS Kermys cause they didn't have any Pad Crashers in black and blue.
  9. I only change if something is not working. I always start with my go to bait which is a Jig n Craw
  10. I tie my loop knot to the split ring and never had a problem.
  11. A well placed tree branch in the water also has a tendency to do a head shake or two.
  12. I use the SK Ochos cause they are cheaper than Senkos. They feel and seem to fall the same.
  13. I have close to what Siebert posted, except of 6 and 6 I have 4 and 4 in the color department.
  14. I don't care, at least I caught something...
  15. Trees and bushes, when I'm trying to cast to a sweet spot from the bank.
  16. Well that went south fast... Sucks
  17. Yup, non weighted to very light weighted pegged or non pegged Texas rigged beaver or worm. Drag over the pads to drop in holes or like previously said, pitch to all the irregularities. It's slow going but the fish are worth it. They seem to be on the larger size as well. A tip if you didn't already know, tie on your hook with a snell knot if your gonna be using any weights, you won't be missing any fish when you do especially for flipping pads or even weeds.
  18. That water back there is private property so i'm not even gonna try to float around in there. With my luck i'll be laying down on my face with cuffs on.
  19. Ordered a bunch of different colored skirt material from Fishing Skirts and painted jig heads from Barlow's to start building my own Jigs. I go thru way to many of them not too. Plus I don't want to have to wait when I order new ones and I save a little as well in the long run. Now I can have instant gratification if its just for one jig or five. @Siebert Outdoors and @Bluebasser86 have been my motivators to get on this.
  20. Have my new to me boat since February. I have been on It a plenty to catch...well you know bass. I've caught perch and pickeral, but my wife caught a largemouth, even my 6 year old son caught his pb smallmouth, and all this on the same lake... Wasn't a good look for me until this past Friday. Found this nice back water creek (actually I always knew it was there, but I never went back into it) off the main lake that had Bass Empire written all over it. Looked like heaven for frogging and punching. The average depth was 2 feet. With pads, weeds, and laydown galore. Water was clearer than in the main lake so visibility was great. We could see perch, suckers, small bass, and bait fish swimming around. We even had the honor of cruising with a giant Tiger Musky, yeah they live there too. So started fishing this majestical creek. The frog didn't work and jig didn't work so I changed it up to my punch rig which consisted of pegged 1/8 oz VMC tungsten bullet weight, 3/0 VMC round bend off set worm hook, and a Texas rigged ZOOM Trick Worm in my my new favorite color Green Pumpkin Blue Flash. Started pitching it to points and breaks in the hydrilla and pads along the bank, and even punching it thru the lightly matted areas. The 1/8 oz weight was prefect for this task in the shallow weed beds. The trick worm slid in and out (so to speak) without getting caught up. Finally the magical waters bestowed upon me this creature: Nice 3 lbs. The End
  21. I'll give it try, Thanks
  22. This reservoir is tough to fish cause it's so pressured especially by the bucket brigade even though it says specifically it's a C and R reservoir. There's also a lot of foot traffic going thru the trails along the waters edge, and I think that also makes the bass wary. I have most my luck with Jigs, and better luck on a Yak. I've caught one off the dam with a crank bait, and one with a Pad Crasher in a cove in my yak, but the majority on jigs. Theres some pigs in there, I've seen them during the spawn. . A friend of mine caught a 5lbr in the lagoon below the dam. I've been going there for a couple of years now so I kind of know where they like to hang out so I pitch my jig from a distance back so I don't spook the bass by walking up to the water and then casting.
