That's what I'm saying, I was still getting blow ups with just twitching the frog on the retrieve with equal length legs when I couldn't walk it. I just did the shorter leg on one, and it did have a easier "walking" action.
  2. I just use 12 or 14lb mono fill the spool eye balled half way, and fill the rest with braid. Used one 150yd spool of 50lb PP braid on three reels this way.

I can walk torpedo type baits no problem, but for some reason frogs I have a hard time with. I tried walking them plenty of times with some and not so much success. I figured I try one leg shorter, and my walking the frog improved. The cadence is a little different than walking a reg topwater bait. Don't get me wrong just making the frog twitch on the retrieve gets blow ups. I'm gonna head to my frogn' ponds soon and see if my catch or strike rate improves.

Trim the legs, whatever hangs past the front trim even. I recently just trimmed one leg shorter, and it does walk easier for me. A lot of people don't. I wanted to see for myself if it did help, and for me it did walk easier.
  5. This is the reason I wear comfy work boots or hiking boots when I'm bank fishing.. plus the work boots are water proof.
  6. This past summer I was using Senko green pumpkin, lost the bait on every bite and hook up. When I ran out I opened a new bag of Pumpkin Black Flake Shimee sticks, and was still killing it. The difference was I still had the same Shimme stick on after several bites and hook ups.
  7. I have a 10 gallon fish tank with with gold fish in my son's bedroom?
  8. I think it might be bought bait, I've never seen shad in any of the lakes and reservoirs I've fished up this way. Ive been told there might be shad at Overpeck park because that's fed by the Hackensack river.
  9. Could be possible there aren't any shad or shiners in some lakes in Minnesota. Up here in North Jersey the lakes I've been to have no shad or shiners just sunnies, perch, and crawpapys.
  10. Gonna have to get used to casting the braid on this rod its got a nice moderate fast tip, so it can really fling these cranks.
  11. I'm Switching to the braid side as we spea... er type right now.
  12. Even on a S Glass rod?
  13. When and why Papa Joe?
  14. Anybody use braid on their MH/ MF action crankbait rods?
  15. I just bought the Skeet Reese 7' MH/ MF Crankbait S Glass rod with Discount for 69$ at Dicks. They are also selling Duckett Ghosts for 99$ Tried the SR out yesterday feels nice. Definitely takes some getting used to casting a softer rod.
  16. I thread my chunks on. With the Rage chunks I usually thread it all the way to where the hook comes out between the eyes. I guess if it's a bigger jig before the eyes.
  17. Man, I need a water vehicle.
  18. Man, those are some BBWs.
  19. I would have to do that up here though. That would be considered a Lunker which would also be a breeder so personally I'd release it after pics and measurements. Just like you I would definitely make a trophy for the accomplishment
  20. Should of measured and weighed it with a pic and got a cast mount instead, but then again there is probably a crap load of bass that size in that lake.
  21. My next big accomplishment is catching the 3+ lbr
  22. Turning my 4 year old son into a fishing maniac, and catching bass on jigs for me.
  23. It's a terrible addiction. It gets worse when the hard water arrives.... It's calling my name maaan.
  24. Nice fatty. Shees I'll be happy if I break the 3lb mark.
