  1. Just what we needed. Luckily, none of those lakes do I call my home lake.
  2. Ya that is tough to take when they are busting all around but not biting. As mentioned, a fluke is a good option but don't forget a spinnerbait yo-yo'd through the crowd or an underspin with a fluke body on it.
  3. I do believe that it will help make a fish hold your bait a hair longer, possibly letting you get a hook in him before he spits it. Remember, fish cant read labels, pick things up and look at them etc.. they do this by picking it up with their mouths, deciding if its food or not and then either swallowing or spitting. If a fish detects human scent, oil, gas, egg McMuffin juice, anything that they know is not natural, it's out. If an attractant like Megastrike makes that decision a little harder for them, they will have it in their mouth just a little longer.
  4. I just heard from a couple of buddies that MLF is filming in Maine right stinkin now! Dang I wish I could get to a lake just to see them launch and pick up. I heard there are 24 pros here, 8 to a lake, all staying around 45 mins from me. Supposedly they don't know where they are going until they get there, 15 min lake ride and game on. I love that format and can't wait until it airs!
  5. So I have been reading about line pinch when using braid. I use braid on almost all of my setups and have line pinch (or digging in) issues once in a while as well. I was thinking that if (and please excuse my lack of terms here) the thing that goes back and forth in front of the reel was geared to move across and back faster, then the line would overlap at an angle instead of inline with the line on the spool and would be less likely to dig in. Am I crazy? Any drawbacks to this thought?
  6. ^^^I like Megastrike. Not as an attractant, but as Sam said, to help make them hold the bait that split second longer to get a hookset.
  7. ^^^Now why did you have to go and do that? We had something going here...
  8. Ya it was pretty cool. I would say the mouse had been swallowed and was half regurgitated during the fight because it looked partially digested.
  9. ...imho. I have been a moon fanatic for years; planning my trips around the moon phases etc... Well this year, the days I have gone (according to the moon's best days) , have all been post front, bluebird skies...and sucked. I mean, I caught fish but just not the usual numbers I typically do on this particular lake. So I saw the forecast for this last Sunday to be stormy, rainy etc...perfect! I called my buddy and we went to said lake and just whacked em. We were out for about 7 hrs in the morning to noon area and boated 67 between the 2 of us; including lost fish we had close to 80. I'm deleting all my bookmarked moon websites... Let me know if I should change my screen name to Captain Obvious.
  10. Caught this guy on Sunday
  11. power pro super slick/thread
  12. Came in here to post this too. RIP Robin. Hopefully he's at ease with his inner Demons now. Great, great, talented man right there.
  13. Hopefully op was talking about catching bass that are feeding on these; not catching the Talapia. The baits I referred to would imitate the Talapia and hopefully catch bass feeding on them.
  14. X2...I'm not scared
  15. First vid. Looks like Banded Talapia. https://www.google.com/search?q=banded+tilapia&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=wjHmU5aNGpP5yQSW34KADQ&sqi=2&ved=0CCQQsAQ&biw=1440&bih=780 Try a white spinnerbait or a pearl magnum fluke, weightless
  16. ^^^Yes, and be sure to pass the tag end through the hook eye, from the top, after palomar is tied. This makes the hook stand out away from the line, improving bait action.
  17. I'm liking this guy^^^
  18. Thank you Wayne. I have to remember about freezing the screen and making my changes to what looks good...gotta remember that!
  19. At what depth would you say 800 is good up to?
