  1. Thanks for the words guys. I'm always proud of him, whatever he does. The hit and the win was nice but what I'm most proud of him was the fact that his first at bat was a hard hit ball straight to left and caught; he struck out his next 2 at bats and I could see he was frustrated with not getting his bat on the ball. But he got back in the box, kept his chin up and was determined to get a hit that night. His perseverance paid off.
  2. In a Legion game to keep us high in the standings. Good thing I had my sunglasses...it got a little misty out there for some reason
  3. I like a 1/2 to 3/4 oz jig, depending on the wind. And a t-rigged worm never hurts either.
  4. Would some super glue fix that skirt problem? I know you shouldn't have to for a drop of glue for $1 bait = fair trade.
  5. Glad to hear it Hawg!
  6. Did I type 9?? I meant 7.....
  7. I had shoulder surgery in January and I'm casting away this spring! I'll be thinking of you and hoping for a recovery as good as mine.
  8. I'm goin 6-9!
  9. I don't have any advice but just want to say that I hope things work out for the better, whichever way you go, for you and your Mother. Best wishes
  10. I really wanna try those Ima Flit jerkbaits but I'm just not spending $17 on one bait.
  11. Grabbing the line is something I learned not to do on "Schooled by Denny Brauer" years ago. He'd always scold the dudes for this. Funny though, I see it at least 20 times every Saturday morning done by the pros so....
  12. Good to see more Mainers! Im in that area and have fished those stretches a lot. Sal, have you tried a senko style bait in there yet? Probably one of the most productive baits I have used in there. Also a green tube jigged over the rocks is hard to beat as well. And the next time im in there I'm going to try a drop shot with a small finesse worm on em.
  13. You all have me thinking about Seafoam now darnit! I usually use Marine Stabil; do you think it would be bad to use both?
  14. ...my 597 and 798 to clean the whole screen?
  15. Uuuggghhhh...stop it! I'm getting creepy crawlies just thinking about that!
  16. Stabil Marine in everything.
  17. I always kinda chuckled at Trokar's claims but a couple of years ago I tried their straight shank worm hook and will now use no other. I use their tube hooks as well and fish just stay buttoned on them. when I need more EWG's guess what brand I'm buying?
  18. I use a 4/0 straight shank Trokar worm hook for my worm needs.
  19. Your grooved eye is your main problem without a doubt. That will fray braid in a pair of seconds. Next, do learn to close your bail by hand. Not exactly sure why it works...it just does. And finally, make sure you're not overfilling your spool. A too-full spinning spool will pour off line and make a mess. :
  20. Yup yup, I've tried a lot of brands and so far, Power Pro Super Slick is my favorite. You didn't mention if this is on a spinning setup or a baitcaster. If it's on a spinning setup, are you closing the bail by hand? If not, get into this habit. It has stopped all line twist for me. If it's on a baitcaster, what lb line are you using? You may be using too small a line and having digging issues. I literally get years and years out of my braid.
  21. I like too many to call one a favorite but if I had to choose 1 genre for the rest of my life:
