  1. For Seneca creek trout, the usual spots are where the creek and following roads intersects: Riffle Ford Rd, Black Rock Rd, Darnestown Rd.
  2. SneakyPete started following Chopstick
  3. Speaking of the canal, has anyone been to canal at Dickerson lately? When I was there early December, it was down to about a foot of water. I think the spill related to the power plant there either cut off the water supply or drained the section. Would hate to lose another section of Canal with fish.
  4. Went to canal at Dickerson and water level was lowest I've ever seen. Some parts were only few inches deep and water was so low, that no water was flowing through drainage pipe near parking lot. All the feeder creeks were bone dry too. Either it's intentionally being drained, or lack of rain is having major impact. Just hope that one of my favorite place doesn't get ruined.
  5. Went to C&O Canal for couple hours in the morning. The duckweeds are getting thin enough to cast moving baits without having to clean after each casts. Caught 3 decent bass all on Gambler EZ Swimmer with Owner underspin. The biggest one went 20 inches. Love the fall fishing.
  6. Mojo rigged Zoom Finesse worm (grn pump chart tail).
  7. Tried a pond in Green Farm Conservation park (39.174336, -77.167829) in Gaithersburg for the very first time. Very remote place, just saw one person walking by with a dog. Water was very low and muddy, but managed to catch couple dinks on mojo rigged Zoom finesse worm. There are two ponds in the park, but only tried one of them. Will need to make couple more visit to see if this place is worth the trip. Has anyone else fished this park before?
  8. Here's one caught on squarebill.
  9. Went to Dickerson for couple hours, and caught my personal best. It was about 21 or 22 inches and fat. It was caught on Megastrike shaky head (3/16 OZ) and Zoom trick worm. Tossed the shaky head next to a laydown and shook about 10 seconds and the line started to move. I am now a shaky head fan.
  10. Went to canal at Dickerson this morning. The place is starting get overrun by duck weeds. Caught several fish by tossing t-rigged zoom trickworm on fallen trees. This nice 18 incher swalled hook too deep, but thanks to this forum and video on how to remove hook through gill, I removed the hook and took picutre in less than 30 seconds and released
  11. Went to Kings pond for an hour to test RageTail Toad for the very first time, and I was glad that I bought a pack. Caught 3 small ones and missed several blowups. Although they were only about 11-12 inches, when they come covered in cabbage, it's fun to reel in.
  12. Has anyone fished the Widewater area of C&O canal between Great Falls and Angler's inn? I am planning to try that area and was wondering what to expect. Is it better to fish from towpath side or the opposite side? Also, is the bottom very snaggy?
  13. Went to the Clopper lake in the morning for couple hours. Water was high and muddy as expected. Caught only one fish but a decent size (18 inch) on a slowly dragged Strike King Lizard. Hopefully, condition will get better for tomorrow.
  14. Dick's in my town has it for $2.99, but it's actually Excalibur Shallow Fingerlings (instead of Xcalibur Xcs). Are they still decent buy at 2.99?
  15. Went to catch and release section of Patuxent river to catch some trout and caught couple of rainbow trouts. Can't wait until bass season.
  16. Fished the Clopper lake for couple hours this morning. Using chartreuse perch color square bill, caught couple dinks and one decent fish. The fish had black blotches all over the body. This was first time I've seen such markings. Are they normal on bass? Hope the weather stays warm enough to get more fishing in.
