Evening, water temperature i didnt record but probably like 60 degrees

Tons of weeds, pond is very shallow maybe 6 feet at max but just barely. Weeds are part of the prblem as well, it cuts out many lures that i cant fish. Im pretty much limited to weedless approaches. Even on a jig i always have weeds build up on the line..

Today the bite sucked. The conditions seemed amazing: 60 degrees and sunny, no wind. Perfect conditions for this pond. However, i didnt even see a single bass or get a single bite.. I tried every lure i own. Bluegills were everywhere and they were biting like crazy.. But thats it... I dont know whats going on. Winter cant be here yet.. Its going to be 70 degrees the next two days.. Whats going on?!?!

Hey all. So the other day my shimano cumara broke out of the blue. I was synching a knot to my lure and suddenly 8 inches of the tip snapped off... And this rod was a replacement to a previous cumara that had the same exact thing happen to it... The tip is sooo fragile... Its an amazing rod, and its tip wont break on a fish, its strong but fragile... It happens to break when i synch a knot or if i get a slight tick in the rod. I think i might need to move onto a different rod. Im going to have it replaced again for free so i will have another cumara but i still feel like i need a stronger rod still with extra fast action. Any suggestions?

They look awesome, and i've been looking for a durable soft plastic frogs, im tired of bad hookups with hollowbelly frogs. I'm debating between the Z Man Pop Frogz and the Z Man Hard Leg Frogz. Anyone have any experience with these?

I want to buy some red hooks for senkos and other soft plastics. Is it worth it? Does it scare fish or attract them? Pros for Red hooks? Cons for Red hooks? Does it really make THAT much of a difference than regular hooks?

Hey all! Got another almost-PB today! Weighed in at 5lb 13oz, measured 20.5 inches. Pulled her out of a submerged tree This is my favorite pond in New York to fish, its loaded with big bass and has a healthy population too. Caught a 6lb 1oz bass here during the summer, and have caught numerous 5 lbers. What amazes me is that the pond is 130 meters long, and 50 meters wide, yet it is OUTSTANDING. And its not a stocked pond, its natural. Video: Pics:

I am not sure how to approach this lake, I normally only fish ponds so im new to this type of fishing. As you will read, structure and habitat have been added to lake. I know a spot from shore where i can access one of these structure piles. I was thinking about using a senko or a soft plastic jerk bait, maybe even a jig Please read information: Lake Ronkonkoma Fishing InformationFormed by ancient glaciers, Lake Ronkonkoma is the largest and perhaps best known of Long Island's freshwater lakes. Portions of its irregular basin are unusually deep for Long Island (65 feet), but most of the lake is less than 15 feet deep. As a rule of thumb, it is unproductive to fish deeper than 15 feet in Lake Ronkonkoma because there is seldom enough dissolved oxygen to sustain fish beyond this depth. The primary gamefish are largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Lake Ronkonkoma holds large bass, but locating them is a challenge due to the scarcity of natural structure to attract these fish. Stumps have been placed into the lake for habitat enhancement (see below). Chain pickerel are extremely rare. In the last two decades, white perch and yellow perch populations have increased to the point of upsetting the ecological balance of the lake. To control these species, the DEC began stocking walleye in 1994. Walleye over 27 inches long can be caught and provide a good targeted fishery. This seemingly odd activity was part of a project to construct submerged reefs. The stumps sink to the bottom of the lake, where they provide fish with places to feed, rest and hide. The project was completed via a partnership among DEC, DOT, the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs, the Long Island Bassmasters and the Suffolk County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. Fishing is an important recreational activity at Lake Ronkonkoma. A DEC study conducted during the summer of 2000 estimated that anglers spent more than 13,000 hours fishing at the lake between May and October. For several years, DEC fisheries staff and members of the Bassmasters wanted to supplement scarce fish habitat and improve fishing in the lake but had no practical means of moving the extremely heavy stumps. You are from Florida. How do you know that bass will bite "no matter the temperature" in the north.... If the water is -10 degrees F then i don't think they will bite (yes i know its ice, but its technically still water just in a different physical state).

I can get fish from a rowboat, at this one my pond, my favorite. I went out today got nothing from boat, went on sure and got this nice 3lb 12 oz bass on a jig. The spot from shore is a deep dropoff, goes from 1 ft to about 7-8 ft quickly. I dragged the jig on bottom and managed this fish.. It was slow otherwise http://imgur.com/EFYea7b

well here in new york they do not bite all year, even when the ponds arent frozen
