  2. Any other pics?
  3. Hey, Got out today to pursue some bedding bass, and I was able to tick this chunky male off with a shakey head w/ a creature bait. Most things are slow now, waiting for spawn to end. Things were slow at the main pond so I went to the tiny one nearby to catch some dinks. Pond looked beautiful today:
  4. swim jigs in prespawn.. hmm I better try that..
  5. Holy hawg! What did you catch the largemouth on??
  6. only thing I dislike is that powerpro. Yuck.

  9. I call them all swimbaits. If someone lacks the ability to actually do some research before they buy a technique specific rod, then it is their loss and fault.
  10. corrected your post ^
  11. I lose the feel that I am used to and need so much if I tie any kind of leader on, so I just tie direct always.
  12. What's the weight on the chunk?!
  13. It is the most versatile lure I have used. It is super weedless so you can pull it through grass, pads, muck... Anything you want. There are a hundred ways you can work it: you can burn it under the surface, drag it on the bottom, twitch it, and even as a topwater. If you keep your rod high enough you can swim it on the surface and occasionally it will hop out of the water like a jumping baitfish. It also can be skipped very well if you learn how to skip it. I don't use a trailer btw. One of my confidence lures when nothing seems to be biting. It also works well in any condition... I have caught fish in clear high skies to overcast rainy days. I even catch at night by burning it under the surface. Always have one in my tacklebox P.s. The hooks on the ones over 1/2 oz do not come very sharp so I only use the 1/2 oz size And if you keep getting weeds you need to bend the weed guard out just slightly past the hook
  14. There isn't only one lure that will be the only thing the fish want at a given time. The other day I hooked into a fish with a jig, so I figured that is what they wanted, within five minutes I had already switched to a lipless crankbait, and caught 5 bass within 30 minutes on it. A jig and a lipless crankbait are very diferent lures, so it goes to show that just because you catch a fish on a lure once does not mean it is the "magical" lure that all the bass will key in on that day. This is why I change my lure often. However, I stick to a lure when I consecutively catch a lot of fish on it.
  15. x3 It doesn't have to do with your line. You could have dental floss on your reel and still set the hook if you reel slack in properly.
  16. Got out today fishing from kayak for the first time (in freshwater) Got 6 fish total, ranging from 12 to 14 inches long, caught one on a jig and the rest on a lipless crankbait
  17. Do not get rid of them! Toss a frog in there!
  18. Must be my lucky day: the only Rapala DT6 I have is in craw color.
  19. Hey all, I am going to be fishing a lake tomorrow from a kayak, first time fishing off the bank at this lake. The fishing is supposedly a lot more productive here once I get off the shore so I am looking to get into some fish. It is a 21 acre lake and probably around 5-6 feet deep.. Not too sure. Right now I plan to toss a lipless crankbait around and maybe a jig.. Fish are in prespawn Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks
  20. For prespawn, its a lipless crankbait.. If that doesn't produce, then it is a jig.
  21. Never had a bass throw a spinnerbait. Only treble hook baits and frogs.
  22. I just snap it right off. I use 20lb braid normally and it just takes a little bit of technique to snap it clean off at the knot, and now you got all your line back. It also depends what is in your pond (species) if you have toothy fish there then I would put a leader on. I always tie straight braid however. And buy Sufix 832 advanced only. Best braid ever.
  23. It is my first baitcaster. Is there anything I need to do to tune it and what not?
