Awesome Morn In Nj .. 2 Hosses.. Even Mattlures Got In
I could have sworn it was called a slow floater when I bought it on one of the releases which I believe was in october or november last year (at least that's when I received the bait). I'm sure there is some reason you would need a heavy floater rather than a normal floater, but I don't know the difference.

Wow that's a pig! Looks like a pretty stout hook on that jighead? Pretty heavy head too?

Can you explain what you've got going on with the lead on the trebles? I have a slow floater, and seeing this intrigues me. Nice fish!

Got another nice one today. Wasn't expecting to pull this fish out of a laydown on a flipping jig. Thought for sure I had a 5lb largemouth. Nope, 18" 2.8lb smallie. Boy can they fight!

Did a little river bassin' today from the kayak, plenty of bass, green ones and brown ones. Caught fish on: 6" Bullshad, Senko, T-rigged trick worm, t-rigged speed craw, war eagle spinnerbait, KVD 1.0, X-Rap, and a 1/4oz spro bucktail. They were very hungry so I just started experimenting with different baits. This fish ate a spinnerbait that I was bringing through a laydown, she tried to go back in and was rubbing my line on a log, I was so involved in the fight that I didn't realize what I was doing and rolled my kayak over! BUT I GOT THE FISH. Also recovered everything that fell out of the kayak. She was 19" long and spit up a 7" gizzard shad. People still wonder why I throw a bull shad... I put the bucktail on as a joke but I ended up doing extremely well with it, on both green and brown fish. If guys can do it on deep ledges I can do it in a shallow river right?

God Not Another Pike.
We don't have hardly any pike, but as far as bass tournaments go, I could go a week without catching a non-bass but as soon as I start fishing in a tournament I can load the boat with them. My mom caught a walleye fishing a drop shot in a 3 hour "mothers day tournament" that my high school club had there. I have spent at least 3 days targeting walleye at that lake, I have caught ONE.

How Would You Fish It?
If it's local and only 50 acres, just fish the whole thing in a series of 2-3 trips and you'll get a feel for it.

Fish Species Question?

Took Out A Dolphin(Mahimahi, Not Flipper) On My Bass Rod!
We got into a school of little guys on our boat last october and I broke out the drop shot rod with 6lb test. These fish were all under 24" though There's no way it took you that long to land that fish???

Lake Anna - May 11-16
Don't even leave Sturgeon Creek. Plenty of re-treds from tournaments in there. After a tournament this spring I witnessed a guy catch three off of his boat as he was getting ready to trailer it. Boats being pulled out of the water left and right and the fish were under the dock between the ramps. Crazy.

Search-Baits For Summer Smallies
The 'ol x-rap is a mighty fine search bait for smallies. You can cover water quickly and it really gets them worked up

Well This Is A First
Stopped by what I call the "smallmouth crankin' spot" this afternoon, it usually holds a pretty good school of aggressive fish. Was hammering them, a fish on every cast, and then as I was retrieving my bait on my fourth cast, I felt my feet starting to slip. The slab of concrete I was standing on had some goopy algae stuff on it even though it wasn't submerged. As my feet start to slip, my brain goes into slow motion and I try to plan my crash landing, as this is happening I feel a thump and set the hook, then I'm in the water chest deep trying to get back up on the slab of concrete. Whaddaya know, my first twofer!

Differentiating Between Bass Bites And Other Fish
Crystal clear shallow water and 5 plus pound bass sounds like glide bait time to me. You won't have trouble detecting the strike If you're using a plastic though, bass will rarely continuously tap on it like a bluegill does, you may feel one or two taps but that's it, then it will just be heavy. The biggest bass I catch have the lightest bites. One tiny tick which I assume is the fish flaring its gills and sucking in the bait.
