  1. You may just be setting the hook too fast. I tend to do that a lot even though I know better lol. Gotta wait for them to take it down. They will hold on to that frog for a LONG time in their mouth in my experience.
  2. On the bank I don't listen to music. I don't want to have my hearing impaired by the sound of music. There are important sounds I need to be listening for around me. On the boat on a slow day I have played music. Also a couple of my friends with boats like to play music. I have no issue with it and I don't find it affects the fishing. In a few cases we have been having a slow day and once the music kicks in we start catching. Coincidence? Maybe the music makes the fish hungry or wakes them up. Who knows?
  3. Cool thanks for the info. Yeah it sounds like it is less potent. Lets say I used JJ's 1 time. Left a bait I had used it on tied on the hook. 30 min car ride and my car smelled of JJ's for days. I personally have never used Megastrike. I have no objection to using it, I just bank fish a lot and the little KVD FishSticks scent are small like lipbalm lol. Easy to transport and apply. Though I may pick up some Megastrike at some point.
  4. A-Jay a question about the Spike It Dip N Glo, is it as smelly as JJ's? I've always heard to keep JJ's out of extreme heat. Is this the same for Spike It?
  5. I use the KVD FishStick which is easy to apply. It comes in a lipbalm type tube and they have a few "flavors". I have used Shad and Craw. Both work. I only use it in certain situations. 1) While Night Fishing 2) During the day when fish are short striking my soft plastics What I do is apply the attractant to the hook and top part of the bait where the hook is when the fish are short striking or picking the bait up by the tail and swimming off with it. This has helped me catch fish in those situations.
  6. If your budget is 200, like someone mentioned the Tatula SV is coming out and should be better equip for what you want. I have a tactical it is a great reel. It is bulky though. It is on the Tatula 100 Frame. They are BIG reels. If you have big hands like me it isn't an issue. Lots of people opt for the Tatula CT because they are a smaller frame. They palm really well. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of the Tatulas in my opinion. The T-Wing itself, I don't know if its better than your standard line guide or not. Even with my big hands after getting a Tat CT I prefer the CT. Just personal preference at that point. BTW the Tactical gives you a bigger handle 100mm instead of 90. It also has a Type R spool in it which is supposed to be a little lighter and give you a little better cast distance than the regular spool.
  7. It seems home is the best place for them lol.
  8. Good review. I have used both the popper and the regular HB and they are both fantastic. You can't really beat them for the price!
  9. The front plate is replaceable but the replacement is the same material. That magnesium piece really sucks. Sun and heat will cause the paint to bubble up and when you use it the paint will just chip off. That is the 1 thing I don't like about my Fuego. The chrome on that front plate is half gone and the reel has been treated very well. But can't do anything about the 100 degree weather we have down here in Miami in the summer.
  10. I'll take another look. I haven't had any issues though.
  11. I have a Daiwa Fuego (old version) which is from that TDZ lineup. It is a great reel, but it's been replaced by a Tatula Type R. It is no match for the Tatula.
  12. I have a Tatula CT, Tatula Type R and Tatula Tactical and none make any weird sounds. They are all fantastic reels. As far as tension, I actually loosen the tension all the way till the spool is a little loose, then I give it a slow turn just till the spool no longer jiggles. So it is fairly loose. I set my brakes anywhere between 2-8 out of 20 depending on wind. I fish anything from 1/16oz up on it with no issue.
  13. Don't be afraid to fish a shallow body of water. Here in Florida you'll come across mostly shallow water. Some will have a deeper section towards the middle but your main focus should be finding cover. Be it grass or pads or whatever other vegetation you can find. If you find 2 or 3 types of vegetation together make that your first option. If you can reach deeper water with your casts then work the ledge. That transition from shallow to deep. Fish will hang out on that ledge a lot of times. May I ask what baits you are using? What techniques you've tried?
  14. I don't use a chatterbait much either. It is always in my tackle bag but I have yet to catch a bass on it. I have caught, mudfish, pickerel, and gar on them though.
  15. A 4" stickbait in watermelon red will work very well down here. You can catch Largemouth Bass and Peacock on them using them like a fluke (weightless or with a small 1/32 or 1/16oz). Or just Largemouth using them in a more traditional way. Most public parks that have lakes will allow you to fish, and hold fish. As far as canals, google earth or google maps is your friend. Many times you can even zoom into the street and see if there are any no fishing or no parking signs. I haven't been to the canal by The Falls mall in a long time but I know there is a good amount of bank there to fish. Saw a lot of exotics like was mentioned earlier concentrate on the bridge or culverts.
  16. Was a good time indeed. Lox can be a fun place to fish. I find it relaxing out there and I like the clear water. Nice job Wurming!
  17. Sergio you can change the FOV on a gopro. There are different settings. Monoprice makes an action cam that is fairly cheap, and has a pretty good FOV as well. You'd have to check the specs to be sure. It is basically a GoPro alternative. As you can see on my main pic, I wear mine on my cap most of the time. The chest mount is ok but I like the angle from up top better with no obstruction from my hands or the reel.
  18. It is a Tatula CT size not the Tatula 100 size. The CT is small.
  19. Senko or Finesse Worm. T-Rig or Wacky or Shakey Head. If these don't work it's time to pack it up and go home, cause I've already tried everything else lol
  20. This video sold me on the SV, and since I like the Tatulas I am going with the Tat SV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoZ0ghlhMrk
  21. I am absolutely loving my Tatula line. Tat CT, Tat Type R and Tat Tactical! I preordered the Tat SV as well. I haven't really found any limitations on these reels, and I went and got me a DIY spool for my CT for my more finesse stuff. Can't wait for the SV to come out!!! It is a real joy using these reels. To me one of the most important factors is the Daiwas all come with 90 to 100mm handles. I love a bigger handle, and Shimano insists on putting smaller 80-85mm handles on their reels.
  22. I've seen some videos where the BPS Sticko is about the closest to the Senko and a couple dollars cheaper. I use them and I love em. Just bought 9 packs cause BPS has em buy 2 get 1 free. That should last me a bit.
  23. BassPro has them cocoon glass over type in store. At least at the store I have near me they do. They have an entire rack of them. But if you want some regular sunglasses I highly recommend the Strike King S11 Okeechobee glasses with the Green Tint. I am very happy with them. I have a pair of Wiley X glasses and the SK's at less than half the price perform just as good.
  24. Went out to MM39 off I75 on Sunday with Geo G and we ended up catching around 22 small bass under 14 inches. The Oscar population is out of control. Every single cast was constant machine gun like bites from these cichlids. We caught maybe 40 or so Oscar, Warmouth, Sunfish, Bluegill, and Mayans. The bass didn't really start biting till around 9:30am.
  25. I have a Fenwick Methods which is fantastic! It is a 3 piece rod, but it comes with several options. It comes with Medium and Medium Heavy Power It also comes with Fast and Moderate Fast Action It also comes in a nice travel tube. So you get the tube, the bottom part of the rod, and 4 pieces that are interchangeable. It isn't the lightest rod in the world but it isn't the heaviest. It is very sensitive though. I was extremely impressed with it and it has become my main spinning outfit for freshwater.
