Slow Retrieve On Buzzbait=More Strikes??
Last few years you hear a lot of guys missing fish, or blow ups and fish not able to grab the bait, buzz baits worked in the 70's... At slower speeds, they will now too, but there are times where the fish are dialed in on speed and it works too... Just gotta figure out what speed is going to work if you're a buzz or frog guy.

Line For A Bait Caster
If you're new to this sport, maybe practice with a good mono, learn you're rod and reel... It will be a lot cheaper and less trouble than a braid or floro, Yes you can typically go a bit above or a bit below line rating, easily more but I am erring on reason... Braid usually is devide braid in half to get in at the rods rating... 50 / 25 ... 40/ 20 this is typical but is often exceeded still... Most froggers like braid... I don't but that's me...

Trusty Home Defense Gun
Yea, pretty much 12 gauge pump Winchester w/ 4x6 shot 2 3/4" magnum.... Birdshot will do it as well as oo or ooo.... Lol... I used to own a 10 gauge... Yikes! Big shotgun... Yep sold it pretty quick. I then believed in a AR15 with police tactical rounds.. But came back to the shotgun! Can't go wrong there!

Hot Livewell?
Exactly, and a smaller tank is easily done, I ve seen so many guys work hard to get where they could afford a big boat, fish a few tourneys, and unload that rig for way smaller! Then they are happy again!!

Whats Your Opinion On Flourocarbon ?
I'd put 20pd Yo-Zuri against any floro... In regards to tuffness , that said the feel of floro is unique.

I'm Trying Mechanical Broad Heads This Year
Josh, I understand that theory, it's bull! I have taken 40 whitetails been around it since 74...I have taken a few with bow and arrow, I have killed deer shooting arrows right up their ass, Iam telling you, if I couldn't shoot and if I didn't know better, I wouldn't have taken that shot, it's just in my many years of doing this... I have seen all the so called rules of engagement on whitetails proved wrong more than once. I could give some incredulous examples that you probably would doubt, nonetheless true... I killed several deer with the original mechanical broad, Punchcutter all aluminum except blades... New tech in 89 certainly a weaker build than today, no doubt... Nonetheless it killed deer for me.... I understand the argument and disagree. My experience has show that many of the so called rules typically just don't hold up in the real world! I do agree though that above all else a strong fixed bladed 125 to even 160 grain is a very sound choice in a broad head Ballistics... A good case study is the battle at Fallujah.. Maybe you are familiar with this? The deal on 9 mm was also debunked , yes? You bet, guys I sold 45 too were then getting it done! 9mm wasn't . Shortened M16 weren't either, but the longer barrels 20" were destroyers, It's what you learn in the field that proves or disproves the So called rules.. Peace.. And happy hunting...

Shimano Curado I Series Combo'ed With Ugly Stick Gx2, Should I Consider A Better Rod To Go With This Reel?
The new crucials, will be hitting shelves relatively soon enough, not discontinued per se, but improved I assume! That said, anytime newer changes occur, old stock gets slashed prior to new models release, it's a great time to buy, especially in this economy! Nothing wrong with that rod choice....

I'm Trying Mechanical Broad Heads This Year
Gut shoot it with anything? And it will run for miles? Before lying down ? That is not even true, sorry... I shot a healthy strong, big buck ( 5 ) point in the stomach, scope fogged up 1990, with a Winchester slug, deer was blowing acorns of all stages outta that wound as well as destroyed blood vessels and artery.... 70 yards there he was, bedded in the root ball of a downed 100ft. Cedar..... Bedded upright with his massive wound pressed against a 6" sapling , dead... Nasty field dress , you said ANYTHING, so I have no choice but to state that as inaccurate.

Shimano Curado I Series Combo'ed With Ugly Stick Gx2, Should I Consider A Better Rod To Go With This Reel?
Curado I = semi- decent ? Humm, haven't heard that yet, are you having issues ? Or? You are certainly entitled to you're own opinion , I would be curious to know why you feel that way... *** is a great rod.... I use a 7' 1" heavy.. It's very decent for the money!

Thinking About Getting Into Swimbaits (Reels)
Shimano 300 E.... It's got it all, now it's going to cost you a bit, but you won't regret it, it is my suggestion, mine is a high speed, high power, strongly built , holds Buku 20 pd. line, cast as good as my Curado I it's great for that work and much more! It is my recommend Reel.

Best 5:1 Casting Reel
I know right! Geez... 5:1 Gear is great for most everything.... In fact, I hear so many people say they can't get bit throwing senkos or certain baits, I always feel like it's more of a over speed issue than anything, oh well, there are those of us who know different.

Sweet! Nice Mods....

Crankbait Rigging
Split rings can damage your line...ovals are made different so as not to... A snap is ok.. If you desire, no split rings on tops but use a rapala knot for best action...

Dedicated Flipping Reels
That small reel (50/51) is comfy... But I find it's power lacking, but that's me.. Idk how you are going to flip and NEVER have a oppertunity to pitch though.. However I believe in speed in flipping and pitching, but if you're Only going to truly just flip? I'd probably go with power over speed... I do both when I visit Florida or Texas. Ain't liking that twing are ya? Lol... I ain't sure yet I have not even tryed one!

How To Prevent Weeds On A Jig?
I swear by a T- rig , I use cranks/ rattle too... But 70% of my fishing is with a t-rig and there are multiple diffrent spins on rigging it too... Like A- Jays.... Punch rigs.... All spins off basic Trig... They just work, almost always.. Even when a good horizontal bite is going on. Who doesn't want to use a crank/ rattle bait when they are eating it good? Nonetheless , T-rigs are still my primary fishing style, I simply love it, and have complete and utter confidence in it!

Daiwa Tws
I always did much better with z than v.. Always hated the inconsistency of v.... Finally switched over to Shimano.... I still like Diawa though....

Best 5:1 Casting Reel
Shimano Calcutta TE 200 Gt or? Shimano Curado 300 E..... You want true power? Those are working reels for those big cranks/ swimbaits or 2 to 4 oz jigs... A rigs... List goes on.. I don't mess with smaller reels for the bigger work... Not saying you can't but I prefer the big gun for my work!! My 200 D was a heck of a power reel too in 5 : 1 so you got some options for sure!
