Dobyns 704Cb Vs. 704Cb Glass
Basically you are asking "glass vs. graphite". Constant retrieve lures are going to give a "jitter" feedback. If you don't want that "jitter" in your hands, go glass. If you don't mind the jitter - go graphite. Personally, I went with the 684C for Spinners and Chatterbaits. On second thought, I kinda wish I'd went with the 705 glass. It simply takes some of the extreme feel out of it. You don't need extreme sensitivity when throwing a spinnerbait. You'll know all too well when she swims up, grabs it, and takes off with it.

If the gear ratio you want is offered in a Tourney PRO, get it! I just ordered 4 and they are they BOMB. Also, most places online sell them for $199. I get mine here for $149. http://www.sportsmansoutfitters.com/

Who Knows Dobyns Rods? Tell Me How To Spend My Money.
Guys, I gave Dobyns headquarters the chance to answer this post too. This is what the fellow there recommended. Please let me know if you disagree: Topwater736c Worm (texas rigged weighted) 735c Flippin' 765flip Spinnerbait 734c Crankin' 705CB Glass A few of those seemed to be a bit "harder/stiffer" than what you recommended. Just wanted to see if there's something listed above that doesn't jive well. THanks!

Who Knows Dobyns Rods? Tell Me How To Spend My Money.
Brian, I live in Gadsden, Alabama on the Coosa River (Lake Neely Henry). I fish this lake most, but I'm only 40 miles from Guntersville. Not much structure on Neely, just docks, rip rap, and some patches of grass. The big G though, it's grass heaven (or hell) depending on how you wanna view that thick stuff! Thanks everyone for your help. I greatly appreciate you guys.

Who Knows Dobyns Rods? Tell Me How To Spend My Money.
Someone stole all my rods and I'm starting from scratch. I want to go with Dobyns Champion line this time. I need the following: A topwater rod (Frog/buzzbait/spook) Worm rod Flippin' rod Spinnerbait/Chatterbait rod Crankbait rod (I prefer the glass version to reduce so much "jitter" in your hands while retrieving. Baits will range from square bills up to 14' divers. I've owned the Dobyns 765CB glass and it was a bit heavy so I was considering the 705 glass this time.) Also, I really like the look of a split handle. Are there any negatives to the split handle? Thanks for your help.

Who Knows About "fishing Ledges"?
When people talk about fishing ledges, lets say your boat is in 20' of water.....do you throw the crankbait up onto the shallow flat and let it "stair step" down into the deep water OR do you throw parallel with the ledge and run the bait entirely in 20' of water? Does this tactic differ at all if you use a jig/worm? Thanks!

Why Does Ranger Put So Many Evinrudes On Their Boats? :(
We all know Evinrudes are no match for Yammy 4 stroke SHO's so why does Ranger outfit MOST of their boats with E-Tecs???? I'm in the market for a boat and every time I see a Ranger, there it is again, an Evinrude. Very rarely do I see a 4 stroke Yammy on a Ranger - why?

What Reel Do You Use For Flippin'-Pitchin?
$500 reel (Zillion) - no way. I appreciate the reply - but I'm no tourney guy and "I" have to pay this bill. I can't see any leisure bass fisherman shelling out $500 for a reel.

What Reel Do You Use For Flippin'-Pitchin?
My flippin' reel has fell apart after 15 years. Time to replace. But I've noticed that reels with flippin' switches are almost extinct. I reckon guys are just using standard baitcasters and applying their thumbs. Which reel are you using? Thanks.

I Am So Lost - I Know Nothing About Graphs
I'd like to stick with Lowrance as they seem to be the dominant leader in the market today. I don't understand the huge list of features, and whether they are worth an extra $400! For example: the HDS 7 comes in $899 and $1299. So, are the features worth an extra $400 for the same size screen? If not, I'll get the stripped down version. Also, there are two options at $1299: A full featured "7" or a stripped down "8". See photo. Thanks.

Who Makes The Most Comfortable Bass Boat?
I'm in my 40's and never owned a fiberglass boat. I have a 2011 G3 brand 18' rig with a 4 stroke 115. Although it's "OK" (and paid for) - but those boats are NOT made for big water. I recently relocated my family from swampy backwaters of Mississippi to northeast Alabama. Yes - that means Lake Guntersville - and this rig beats me to death. So! Here I am.... thinking about going "fiberglass" but I was maximum comfort. When I say comfort, I'm not only talking about a cushy-ride, I'm talking about fishing comfort too (accessing rods, standing on the deck 8 hours, running a trolling motor, etc.) I don't care at all about speed. I know Skeeters, Legends, and Bullets are some of the faster boats - but speed kills - and comfort makes me happy. With all that said.... should I buy a Ranger, Ranger, or Ranger? LOL (Kinda thinkin' about a 520C+Yammy 250 4-stroke). Your thoughts please. Thanks guys!

No Such Thing As A "flippin' Reel" Anymore?
The point of having a switch? As the pitch is delivered, the lever "auto locks" your spool for instant hook sets if needed. My reel that broke gave me 10 solid years of flipping. The skin on my thumb gets enough of a workout stopping the spool on the other 5 reels. Thanks to every one who answered.... maybe I need to give Pinnacle a shot. Are they decent reels? How do they compare to the Johnny Morris series?

No Such Thing As A "flippin' Reel" Anymore?
My old flipping reel finally fell apart and I need a replacement. I called Bass Pro and I said "Name off some of your high end flipping reels (with flipping switches)." The guy said "There aren't any." What!!!!!!!! I was expecting there to be a Shimano, an Abu, a Diawa, and a Johnny Morris to choose from. If there's no reels with flipping switches anymore.... what's everybody using??? Please offer brand/model. Thanks!!!!
