  1. Interesting. I'd be interested in throwing that here in Florida on an overcast day or morning bite
  2. Jointed looks awesome. Keep up the good work!!!
  3. Also good snook fishing in the winter on the bay side. Wade around docks, throw 1/4 oz. root beer jig. Good luck
  4. Well in don't necessarily mind the cost only because I usually have a ton of braid backing on anyways. Most I put on at a time is 40-50 yards
  5. I wanna flip pads and edges with flouro to see if I get a better hookup/more bites ratio. That's all. Just experimenting. I have plenty of rod for the job. Unless you can think of a stiffer rod than a crucial. 7'11" extra heavy fast.
  6. A-jay, no offense, but I'm confused by your lingo
  7. In your opinion, which flouro has the least amount of stretch? I've been using braid here in Florida because of all the thick cover, flippin, pads, Etc....so trying to make the jump to flouro on some of my rods. Only thing is, it just seems so d**n stretchy. I mean I et good hooksets, fish stay buttoned up. Is it just the feel that I have to get used to? Growing up I uses strictly mono like most of us, but this just seems like a rubber band. I'm using the seaguar Red Label. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. You could always post it in the "flea market" forum and see if you get any favorable trades.
  9. I was fortunate enough for some people on here to tell me that I could transform my Revo sx. 6.4:1 gen 3 into a 7.1:1 under $30. Thanks again for whomever helped me out. I'm wondering now that the Revo rocket has come out with a 9.0:1 ratio if it's possible to upgrade to that??? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
  10. Basically, has anyone ever had to do it or deal dealt with this before
  11. It is worth it. Considering I bought the rods it cost. The only issue is and I don't know if this plays into it is that it's a split grip and the real seat screws from the bottom up..... The actual bottom handle is the one that screws to secure the real
  12. I'm not quite sure if this is the right forum. But I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to switch out my foam grip to cork? I have a handful of new shimano crucial rods that I am trying to convert like the old ones. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated thanks Guys

  14. I throw mine on a 1/8 oz. weighted hook. Either the gamakatsu or owner. It gives it a true look and feel, still stays weedless and glides over cover(pads, Kissimmee grass, buggy whips, etc...) really well. Some guys peg it with a 1/8-1/4oz tungsten bullet weight and seem to like it that way so they can dead-stick it in holes and occasionally flip with it. Give it a shot
  15. Do you guys mind telling me about this mailing list? I'm from Florida and have some deep private lakes that I'm freaking out trying to find them(huddleston)
  16. I have the same rod that I punch with that's a 7'11" extra heavy-fast also
  17. &jhoffman-you don't think a shimano crucial 7'11" heavy-x-fast "flipping" rod would get it done???
  18. I throw a lot of skinny dippers and Big EZ's. I live in Florida and wanted to know if anyone in the south(mainly in FLA) has used any of the HUddleston baits or any of these pricey life-like baits. If so, which ones do you recommend??? Thanks in advance
  19. Went 2 weeks sgo(sorry for the delay). Had a small tourney out of Roland martins. We headed out through the pass and then south. We found an area of Kissimmee grass about a mile long with nothing but dinks. Then headed into the cattails with some mixed in pads...caught over 20lbs on Monday, over 20lbs on Tuesday and come wedneday for the tourney, 18.47lbs. No kicker that day. We had a 5,4,3,3,3. Still a decent day. But does anyone know what that area might be called? If it has a name? It's between coots bay and the marina as far as east/west and between the big lake and the rim canal...don't know if that helps. Oh yeah, it's west of this big azz peninsula that I believe you have to run around to get to South Bay.
  20. Thanks ladies and gents. I always appreciate the info.
  21. Anyone have any good sites for buying 2-pad skirts for jigs, spinnerbaits, etc...? Was gonna start tinkering with making some of my own custom colors and wondered if anyone had not only tried, but had a good cheap site to purchase from??? Thanks Grant
  22. I'll be there in 2 weeks. Keep me posted fella's if you don't mind. Only been there once and don't really know anything about the place
  23. Is appreciate it. I have a firefighter tournament there in 3 weeks. Never fished there so anything will help. We're launching out of Roland martins' Grant
