Need Help With Rx Sunglasses For Fishing And General Use.
Thanks for thoughts/opinions/facts--help. After my insurance I had to pay $60 out of pocket for eye exam and a new set of 80% amber tinted, polarized glasses with anti scratch & glare coating and are also shatterproof which is awesome because I do a lot of shooting. My only worry is the 80% tint may be too dark on overcast days. I did feel a little better realizing I could pay well north of $60 for a non-rx pair of quality glasses so the $60 doesnt seem too bad. Plus Walmart gives you a $60 day satisfaction guarantee on the rx lens so we shall see.

Need Help With Rx Sunglasses For Fishing And General Use.
Since I have to buy prescription sunglasses its hard to try any out before making the purchase. They are also usually more expensive then normal sunglasses you folks gifted with good sight get to use. My question is what tint should I go with for a pair of rx glasses I am going to use day to day but really want set up specifically for fishing. I have a pair of 80% grey non-polarized glasses now and they are fine for being outside but horrible when out on the boat. I was leaning towards 80% amber(or brown) polarized lenses. What do you folks think? Remember I dont have many choices other then shades of amber or grey for rx glasses.

Is It That Easy To Get A Gun In 'murica?
So by only using sterotypes I can have an open discussion about you and folks your are close to and you won't get "bent out of shape" ...you sure about that?? If you took off the handcuffs of this being a family forum Im sure you would bend a bit if folks pulled the correct strings. By him including everyone in America..he is including your family(assuming they are from here) I dont think I belittled anyone and at the same time Im not sure any one has educated him on any part of his post, other then helping him define the correct names of different weapons. I was responding to him being surprised folks would get upset by his remarks in follow up posts. I was trying to inform him of how presenting his questions in a more respectable manner may get him much better answers. Lastly I dont watch/listen to any Canadian news so its probably my fault for assuming most Canadians didnt pay much attention to ours.

Is It That Easy To Get A Gun In 'murica?
Your question may have received more/better responses had you not added part of the question which seems a bit ignorant overall to gun violence in general in the US. See throwing a blanket statement over a whole country usually means you are just trying to stir the pot not get factual information. I say (and never in lowercase) America is full of all kinds of folks from of the the most generous to some of the worst wastes of oxygen on the planet. I would also rarely go to a website dominated with folks form another country and ask questions that makes me look like Im speaking poorly of that country. Questioning the freedoms that helped us create this great country usually doesn't go over very well in most groups of Patriotic folks.

Johnson Motors
If you do enough research on any motor it seems like you find plenty of folks that say they are junk and plenty like the reviews above. Im also checking out used boat/motors and its mind numbing trying to sort through good and bad reviews. I've even called a couple shops closer to me and got the exact opposite answer from folks who work on them for a living. Its beyond frustrating.

Random Thoughts And Questions
"Question - That maybe they are a little more aggressive because of the fact that they're packing?" I believe your logic is completely flawed in this thought process. 2 dummies road raging that shoot each other are just 2 dummies. This in no way makes the average CCW person "a little more aggressive" in fact I would argue the exact opposite. These folks are normal law abiding citizens for the most part and in no way are looking for trouble or a chance to use their weapon. They just simply feel safer for having one to protect themselves or loved ones. As a husband and father, I feel its my duty to provide protection for my family but in no way would I ever want to have to pull my weapon in a bad situation around my daughter. My opinions are based on the hundreds of folks I've met in CCW/NRA classes. My buddy teaches the NRA/CCW class on my personal range so I usually go to help out and meet folks.

What Do You Do To Brand New Reel Before Fishing It?
I think you missed a step.......Wouldn't it be easier to put the line thru those little circle things on the rod before tying on? Seems like it would be tough to get the lure thru them all.

What Do You Do To Brand New Reel Before Fishing It?
I have been messing with it for a while and this is what I have figure out. If I loosen the drag enough to where I can put my finger on the spool to stop it all of the noise and odd feelings goes away and it seems very smooth. When I tighten the drag to where the spool moves I get 6 audible(barely) clicks for every revolution of the handle. I have not strung up the reel yet. Just put it on a rod and have been messing with it. I have not opened it to change any of the brake settings. (I did for the other reel) If I had to explain it feel like one of the ball bearings on the spool is missing and when it gets to a certain point the other bearings roll past the open spot and make contact. That would be the audible sound I hear. I doubt that is the real problem but that is the best way I can explain it.

What Do You Do To Brand New Reel Before Fishing It?
Not grinding but one of the 2 reels a bit rougher then the other. It may just need broke in a bit but I was trying to figure out if I should auto oil a new reel or not. I prob need to play around with it a bit more to see if it smooths out. Its almost like I can feel the bearing moving as I reel if that makes sense. On a level of 1 to 10 on smoothness as you are reeling it seems to go 8/9/8/9/8/9/8/9/89 that may be the best way I can explain it. I feel a little tension then free a little tension then free. Its very very minor though and it does have an audible sound as I am reeling unlike the other one.

I guess I should have said on the inside of the reel. Although the add line comment was funny.

I don't understand how the bearings are counted in reels? Is it each individual ball in the bearing itself? Do more bearing on a BC normally mean the spoon spins easier on its own when casting or does it make it feel smoother or easier to reel? I dont get why folks show how long their spool spins after bearings are replaced. I mean dont folks folks use at least some break on the reel anyway?

What Do You Do To Brand New Reel Before Fishing It?
I recently bought 2 Citica's and finally got them on rods. Only issue is they dont seem as smooth as I thought they would be. I remember the one you fondle in the store feeling a lot smoother. Do I just need to reel for a while for break in or should I take apart and follow the thread on how to lube a reel? Also is it normal for a BC reel to not make the spool move when you reel it until you mess with the drag? I reeled both reels and neither spun the middle spool until I screwed with the drag setting....is that normal?

What Do You Guys Think Of This Rig
You get a lot more boat if you do not need a jet drive. I have been looking for a while now and I can get a very nice glass boat for what im looking at spending on an "ok" jet boat. The jets usually have the tunnel hulls to allow the jet to set in water but not even be as low as the bottom of your boat. Ive learned that in most cases(not all) you simply cannot just put a jet on a boat set up for a prop. Usually the engine needs to be mounted higher and the shape of the bottom of the back of the boats affects the depth of the jet. http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/attachments/jet-drives/24518d1219625339-adding-lifting-strakes-help-ss.boat.8.8-043.jpg there's a pic showing what I mean. Some of the boats are tunnels the complete length of the boat some are just towards the back but you can see the intake of the jet doesn't have to be as low on the boat compared to boats without the tunnel.

Need Help Figuring Out Which G Loomis Rods This Guy Has
Im supposed to meet this guy (never met) on Friday to check things out. Are there any red flags or issues to check out on a baitcaster. I guess I can expect some wear on it but it worries me a little buying something just to sell using my limited knowledge to make sure it works ok. I get a rod is either broke or not but I didn't know if a BC reel could have issues that arent obvious just standing in a parking lot reeling it wouldn't show.

Open Carry
I dont understand why folks would OC(handgun) in public. Personally I think having a CCW gives you a large advantage in most situations where you will actually need it. I don't mind the folks who make those videos if their point is to educate LEO's and general public what the laws are supposed to be and what you can legally do without being harassed. I don't like the fact they ask for ID because you have a legal firearm. I get why they do ask but it makes for a slippery slope for law enforcement and after its done enough it becomes "the norm" although where legal they have no right to ask. If I open carried and was asked for ID I would show it but it would come with an explaination stating how really there is no reason for me to hand over my ID in this situation. I would of course be as polite as possible.

Need Help Figuring Out Which G Loomis Rods This Guy Has
Do you think that power rod could work for anything other then crank bait? I already have a 7' MH casting rod. If I decide to buy one can anyone recommend the 7' or 7' 6". I do mainly river fishing for smallies out of boat. I have 2 spin rods both MF 6-6 and 7'(I run Presidents on these). I have 1 MH-F casting rod and need to add one more casting rod. I was about to buy something new in the $100 range. Ghost, ***, Mojo etc..but feel even if MF isnt exactly what I wanted that this would be stupid to pass up. I know I dont need both rods so if I just get one Im leaning towards another 7' rod. This is my first year using a BC so Im looking to get into it on the cheap jic I dont like it. I have 2 new Citica's to put on the rods. Any opinions appreciated. I wish the Calais was a lefty I may pick that up too but Im not a huge fan of just turning stuff for a buck.
