  1. Ok, the power part of it is what I couldn't figure out. I went to their site and its a little less muddy. Im still learning on rods only a couple months ago I thought there were only 2 types of rods....1 piece or 2.--thanks
  2. Ok. I will try to get more info. He just said they were a year old and wants $125 each for them. He also has a Calais Cl 200 for sale but its a righty and I need lefty, he wanted $150 for it. Its also supposed to be one season old. I just hate looking at used stuff not having a clue to what it costs new and I know their rods have a large range in price.
  3. He didn't send me that info. Just what I got above is all I know.
  4. Guy is offering to sell me 2 G Loomis casting Rods (locally) but I haven't seen them yet. I don't know anything about Loomis rods. All the info I have is they were used for 1 season and both are MF. 1 is 7' and one is 7' 6". He said he paid $275 originally but will give me a good deal on them. Any clue on what models he has. I don't understand the whole lettering system Loomis uses. I wanted to be able to check them out online just to get general idea of what I will be looking at 1st hand.
  5. G19. I have a G22, G23, G21 and a G17. I undercut the trigger guard on my compact models and it made a heck of a difference since I have man hands. Why do I carry? Because I refuse to be a victim. I have my own range so I do a good bit of shooting. Seems like precious metals for me is lead and steel. Cause Im either buying targets, bullets or fishing weights with most of my extra $$$.
  6. Cabelas has the 3.5" Luck E Strikes on sale for 5.99. I had to order 3.
  7. The 110 MCstick in the SPR Blue.
  8. Fishusa also has the ST Croix Mojo's for 100. I am in your exact situation looking for a rod and cannot decide either.
  9. Anyone use the SPRO's? I found a couple on sale and picked them up. I havent got them wet yet but they seem like quality stuff.
  10. We fish it down towards Harrisburg. Jerk baits and sweet beavers seemed to do the best for us. Natural color beavers and bright jerks(although the water was clear). I also had good luck on black 4" Berkeley Grubs. I fished them with lose bullet weight on nose and T-Rigged.
  11. I was clicking around ebay and noticed this guy has really good deals on drop shot weights and some soft baits. I went ahead and ordered a pack of weights but wondering if anyone tried their softbaits? He also has a small website but I wasn't sure if it was ok to link it here and didn't want to break the rules. Less then $20 shipped for 100 1/4 oz cylinder weights set up for drop shotting is prob the best I seen online though.
  12. Aaron Martens vid's are pretty good too. Try to get out of the vid why you are presenting lure X in that particular way not just how to do it. I think knowing how to fish plastics is great but understanding why you are fishing them that way in a particular situation is what really matters. Seems like everytime everyone agrees rigging or fishing a bait the "correct" way someone else changes it up with great results so dont think there is always a right and wrong way to do it.
  13. I guess boats sale are thru the roof this time of year. I emailed three different places earlier this week and have yet to get a response. I guess I will go back to patiently waiting.
  14. cabelas has the Daiwa Exceler BC reel on sale for $44. They are 1 piece alum. 8 bearings. fishusa has the Fenwick HMX rods around $70. That would get you in budget. fleamarket has a user with BP PQ reel which folks seem to love and the ABU Veritas rod that will also get you in budget.
  15. Gander Mountain has some good deals going right now on lower priced rods. The Vendetta's are on sale 50-70 bucks with free shipping. They have some GSX others have mentioned on sale too for around $70 with free shipping.
  16. I hear a lot of guys wishing they could add a 3-4" extension to their rods. Im not sure if they've had much luck though.
  17. Im probably going to head to Harrisburg(about 2hours away) and check them out. I know Bigbee, Ducky's and PAJET are in the area up there. We actually fish up there a lot and I seen a few G3's on the water. I know the bene's of stick steer but def want a console steer. How well does your prop go in the shallows? We fished a lot in Goldsboro and right there at the statue near the I-81 bridge last year in fall and I dont see how a prop would have made it around very well. My problem is the only boat service center I have near me that can do warranty service is for Mercury motors. Im worried about buying a non-Mercury just to have the closest service center being 2 hours away. So in my mind I almost need to find a Merc powered boat.
  18. Thanks for the info. I def want to try using Flouro leader this year for smallies. Im just surprised the knot flows fine thru the guides. I will give it a try.
  19. Im a little confused about using leaders. What I was wondering is do you ever bring the knot or swivels thru the guides before casting? I understand using a 1-2' leader since I have no problem casting with the lure hanging 1-2' from the top guide that far but how do the guys who use say a 10' leader deal with a knot on the spool then going go thru the guides during the cast? Are the knots smooth enough where it has no affect on the cast? I've never seen anyone fish with a leader that wasn't tied to a swivel and was only about a foot long. What am I missing here.
  20. How do you know if your reel has a "deep" spool--Citica?
  21. Done..see what they say. I talked to the folks at Tracker today and they offer zero jet boats. Too bad i was liking the 1860 Grizzly.
  22. The River Pro's are about 10k out of my range. PAJETBOATS looks like an option. I wish they listed some price sheets on their site. I
  23. For you guys using jigs on the bottom. Are you adjusting your leader length any different then you would if it were just a weight?
