A day on Chesdin
Well not a bad day at all. We put in at Whippernock got on the trolling took a left went up the creek for a right good ways. We picked up three up that way. Fished our way back out to the bridge fish the area from the bridge to the power lines picked up five more. The water conditions are stained with foot to a foot and a half of clarity from the Campground to the power lines. From the Campground up the creek the clarity was much less. Water temperature 70 to 72 degrees. Best five weighed in at 16lbs 1oz it took 8 hours to do it but it's the best day I've had this year. All three of these young ladies were caught in a 75 yard stretch 3.8 4.4 4.11

A day on Chesdin
Sam I'm headed out in the morning with my uncle in law from Georgia. We went to the public boat ramp this afternoon and talked to a couple of guys both said the water was stained/murky yes the guy from Illinois said murky but has I have found out over the years everyone's definition on this is different. The water temps are still in the mid to upper 60s. I think I'm going to put in at whippernock so I'm in a central location. I have a couple on spots up the lake from whippnock I want to try and if the water is not to muddied up I may run up the old river and take a shot at the swamp.

A day on Chesdin
Sounds good, Let me know when you are headed to the lake I may be taking that day myself. My work has been crazy , all these people being home not taking vacation and not traveling are spending there money on their homes so I'm taking full advantage of them wanting to send there money on home improvements.

A day on Chesdin
Very much so. I went on a Wednesday afternoon I put in at whippernock and there was already 11 trucks and trailers there. We seen at least 15 boats between whippernock and Lake Chesdin Campground. I don't even try to fish Chesdin on the weekend if I do go on the weekend I make the run up the old river.

A day on Chesdin
I was finally able to get back on the water for a few hours this afternoon. The water temp is still in the mid to upper 60's clarity is a foot to a foot in a half. I took my neighbors grandson he hasn't fished Chesdin before so he got a crash course on how tough it can be. He mainly fishes farm ponds he's not used to getting skunked but to his credit he never got discouraged he kept fishing and is ready to go back. He did get to watch me catch 3 so he does know fish do live there.

Big O advice
Not great we caught about 15 in two days nothing over 3lbs but it was an enjoyable trip. We seen alot of beds but the big girls have moved out. The guide said he thinks the cold front pulled them off the beds.

Looking for a small piece of carpet
I will not be using black! I was looking to see if you can get a similar material in other colors that will bond to PVC.

Looking for a small piece of carpet
I am going to extend the front deck on my 87 winner 17" to give me more room on the front deck and for tackle storage. The issue I have is what to cover it with as I said it's an 87 winner and I don't plan on re carpeting the boat but would like to find something close to the color that's in there. So I'm checking to see if anyone has re carpeted there boat and has some scrap pieces left over or knows where I can find some scrap pieces. I need 1 pc 12"x48" and 1 pc 20"x48" close to this color. If anyone else has done something similar to this and has other idea options I'm open for suggestions

We do that on Christmas Eve and my girls spend Christmas day with their significant others Family.and most people don't want you to work on their house Christmas day, so fishing it is. That is if I can figure out how to get them to bite in this 42° Water.

New bass fisherman looking for advice
I would say take everything that you have right now for bass fishing find a really good looking spot sit it all on the ground turn and run, run as fast as you can the other way ?? in all seriousness This sport is and can be very addictive and expensive if you are not careful. You are in the right place for any questions you may have everyone on here seem to enjoy passing on information and advice. The only thing I would suggest is, although there is many baits and techniques that bridge the gap across the nation pick the brains of the anglers in your region to fine tune when and what time of year to use what baits and techniques. Always keep an open mind and don't be afraid to try something new. I'm about 8 years into this sport and I'm going fishing Sunday and will be trying a technique that I have never done before and I would be willing to bet there's guys on here with more years in then I do that are still trying new things. Welcome aboard and keep us updated on your progress.
