  1. I believe the TW sale starts Friday
  2. True, for areas that get a lasting ice things are a little different
  3. The ozark river smallmouth are gonna hammer these babies
  4. Fishing season ends? Not sure how there can be a first cast when there isn't a last
  5. Check out the DaBeat frog from Ima. Very fun little bait and it definitely gets bit. The smaller Lunker Hunt frogs are pretty cool too
  6. Hey guys, I'm looking to find some realistic soft plastic craw baits. I've been a big fan of Huddlebugs for some time now but after my current supply runs out don't plan on purchasing anymore. If anybody has any suggestions in regards to ultra realistic craws I'd appreciate it. I'm familiar with most of the mainstream stuff found on BPS and whatnot, but am hoping ya'll might know of some lesser known options. Thanks for any and all help!
  7. Haven't used them but I've been eyeing the 33 Mini and Elite Low Pro from Nichols. They are definitely intriguing
  8. I like the color combos on the Dry Creek double dip tubes but in all honesty I think most any brand tube will work
  9. Whenever I retire a pair of running/gym shoes from working out, they become my new float and wade shoes. Works for me
  10. Check out ozarkanglers.com. Lot of info in the forums pertaining to your area
  11. For more regional info, you might want to check out ozarkanglers.com forums
  12. Did you order these from 7 Seas? Either way look forward to seeing your thoughts
  13. Quite true. At one time I believe there was some beef between Lew's and BPS but it looks like times have changed
  14. This came up in the Ozark anglers forums a little while back. Basically the gist I got was Lews in in, Daiwa is out. Also, I've heard BPS was trying to flex their muscle and it was pretty much Daiwa that dropped them (this may not be accurate but its what I'd been told)
  15. Hard or soft? If hard are you looking for a more glide or serpentine action? Also what do you consider "best price?" Mattlures Hard and Soft Gills are fantastic, though the hard ones aren't the cheapest and not always available. The Jackall Gantarel is nice I've done well with the TT Gill 3:16 is a nice soft gill The Shellcracker variants are all good The CL8 is inexpensive and very nice Also consider that a lot of baits with less than gill like profiles still come in bluegill colors Sorry, for being long winded, I like bluegill baits
  16. You can get them now direct from Black Dog or Swimbait CIty. Nice baits
  17. Got a Toxic Baits Wake n Crank from the SU Cyber Monday sale Put a random order together from TW for their sale, zinkers, bugs, jig heads, some other stuff I don't even remember lol
  18. Check out 7 Seas Pro Shop. Cool baits and good prices. I've ordered from them before and my orders are usually in MO in 5-7 business days
  19. You will be only a short distance from lots of great fishing. Table Rock, Bull Shoals, Stockton, Fellows, Taneycomo, McDaniel, Lake Springfield, and lots of rivers. I also went to school in Springfield (MO State) and I can speak from personal experience that all the fishing opportunities can easily distract you from your studies. Also, check out ozarkanglers.com for lots of great info
  20. Agreed, though I favor the purple illusion color. Really nice spinner baits
  21. Sorry to hear about yout punker experience. Maybe it was a defective one or something. What size was it? They definitely take a little practice since they are bigger than the walking type baits most are used to
  22. Gunfish and Lunker Punkers for me. That said, once you really get a feel for walk the dog baits they all are easy to work
  23. I mostly buy from Tackle Warehouse, Last Chance Tackle, or random ebay dealers. Also buy some things direct from smaller bait makers
  24. In no particular order: MS Slammer Lunker Punker (Wood or Plastic) LC Gunfish 95 LC Wake Tail (think this one is discontinued now)
  25. Might wanna check out the T-Rock forum on Ozarkanglers.com and Pete Wenners' Youtube channel. Very good info
