  1. All the advice above is good, but my number 1 suggestion is be careful and safe. No way I'm fishing LOZ this time of year (especially on the weekends)
  2. I love the scene with the power plants in the background. Its like speculating without explicitly saying "nuclear energy is evil"
  3. Darn you Tackle Warehouse and your "Tax Stimulus Sale." Gets me every time
  4. So, is it also unreasonable for a guide/charter to not allow clients to bring GPS on the boat?
  5. Here is a clicking knob. Think I may order a couple myself http://www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/product/1844
  6. My suggestion, get a Tatula (7.3:1) on Ebay for cheap, then get it super tuned and bearings upped to Bocas. Boom goes the dynamite *And the Beast is excessive foy your needs
  7. The traditional style head for the Ned is something similar to the Z-Man finesse shroomz head. The Z-Mans are a bit pricey and there are some guys on ebay and Ozark Anglers that make them cheaper. For more info on the Ned I suggest checking out the Table Rock sub forum on Ozarkanglers.com. That bait has become legendary in Southwest MO it seems. Personally, I'm not really in to finesse fishing but there is no denying the Ned gets bit when the fishing is otherwise pretty tough. For a little more info, here are recent articles from the Kansas City Star: http://www.kansascity.com/sports/outdoors/article17404292.html http://www.kansascity.com/sports/outdoors/article17402318.html
  8. I think Zorro does one
  9. Smallies love swim jigs here in Missouri. I like the Dirty Jigs regular and finesse models with a Keitech Fat Swing or Easy Shiner trailer
  10. My usual finesse flipping jig is the Omega but I was thinking about picking up a couple of these new Ike's Minis from Missile as they look nice. As I was looking around the TW site putting an order together I noticed that the Mini Flip looks pretty close the the SK Bitsy Flips, only the Bitsy is about 1/3 the price. Has anybody compared these side by side? Is the Missile a little bigger perhaps? Whats your opinion on this jig? I know the original Bitsy Bug is pretty tiny. If anybody happens to have both could you post a side by side comparison pic? Thanks and Happy Friday!
  11. In for 2. I love the idea of a weedless gill but think I like the look of the Mattlures better
  12. Mine came last week. I always page through it but most of my bass gear comes from TW these days. Free shipping, better prices, better selection, and better pics/info make it hard for me to justify buying from BPS
  13. I've found that smallies will generally hit anything a largemouth will as long as it matches the forage in that particular body of water Also, I feel like you can't ever go wrong with a finesse jig, craw or creature bait
  14. When I was 14 or so I got access to some private property with a decent size lake (30 acres I think) and several smaller lakes and ponds ranging from 1-4 acres. I was told by the owner that there was a small pond up in one of the fields that nobody fishes. So me and a buddy decided to go try it despite the field not being mowed. We trudged through a few hundred yards of briars and bush only to find what looked like more of a slophole cows and pigs would wallow in. Thing was maybe 1/4 the size of a basketball court, muddy, and maybe 30" deep on its best day. Figured we'd fish it for a minute then head back. Well on my third cast with a spinner I pulled out a bass that according to my Stren scale was just over 6#. It was the only fish we caught out of there but it made for a cool story. Wish I knew where the pic of that was
  15. Haha, I really enjoyed that video
  16. If they seem me fishing swimbaits/big baits "there are no muskies in this lake lol." Ha, the joke is on them
  17. Where at? I have a lot of family and friends in Poplar Bluff. And thanks to everybody else for the welcomes
  18. Hi guys, just recently registered but have been enjoying the site for a while now. Been bass fishing all my life and in the past few years have really gotten in to swimbaits. Its funny to see the looks on people's faces around here when throwing big baits. The " there are no muskies in this lake" jokes seem to never get old haha. Otherwise I love frog and jig fishing as well as creature type baits. Little more info; 31yo and located in St. Louis MO. Other hobbies include hunting, craft beer, running, mushroom/edible plant foraging, food/cooking, wine, BLUES hockey, and Cardinals baseball. Now I'm ready for March. A lot of the water is frozen here and archery deer season just ended! -Kyle
