Fenwick Aetos 7'2" Mh Xf Casting Rod.
I have the exact same rod, and have fished it for at least a year now. Its a nice rod for sure, very comfortable, and I like the grips. The grip at your palm is a rubberized cork, and it seems to grip really good, almost tacky, even when you have wet hands. I like the feel of the blank, its nice and firm. Its not a broomstick, as it has a little tip, but it has a lot of backbone for sure. I have used mine mostly for heavier tx rigs, and 1/4 to 3/4 oz jigs, and it has been good to me. I have also used it for frog duty, and it horsed them out like magic. I managed to break the tip about 3 inches down on mine, but it was my fault, high sticking a big bass fishing from the bank. I have repaired it, and still has not let me down or noticed a difference in performance. Worth a shot in my opinion, especially around the 100 dollar mark, it WONT be beat!

Megabass Jerkbait Fishing Questions
Thanks, I have heard the split ring adds more action with a snap, and others say it made the bait not work properly. I should have just tried hooking it to the eyelet and see what happened. I have high hopes for this bait! I was tying line directly to the split ring with a palomar knot, and getting hit a few weeks ago, but then found out that's not the right knot, and it hinders action. It made sense to me to use a duo clip, as the bait can rotate freely around the loop in the clip between jerks. I never had any luck with the jerkbait in the spring, or ever for that matter, but for some reason now that its fall, and water cooling down before ice, I'm gaining confidence! Just want to pull one more hog before I hang up the bass gear until mid to late spring!

- Megabass Jerkbait Fishing Questions
Hey guys, just ordered my first megabass lure, the Ito vision 110. I got it in a gold color, not sure the exact type, but it looks good. I have been fishing jerkbaits the last few weeks, and have been doing pretty good using a rapala shadow rap. Anyways, it seems to me like the jerkbait bite is on, water temp was 47 degrees yesterday, and the lakes are really getting clear. My question is about using the snap clips, like duo snaps from berkley. I just started using them but was wondering what other more experienced jerkbait anglers thought of them as far as action of the jerkbait, and what about the split ring on the end, would you keep that with the snap or remove ithe split ring and hook directly to the eyelet? I know a lot of guys use a loop knot, but I don't have confidence in that, and just don't trust it when tying fluoro personally. Any input is highly appreciated. Thanks!- Soft Plastics Are My Downfall...need Some Advice.
I agree that most bites will come on the initial fall, or within a few seconds after the worm hits the bottom. I always work it back to me though, because there will be plenty of times they could hit it half way back, or even when you are about to take it out of the water to make another cast. My go to bait used to be tx rigged and wacky senkos, and threw those for years, but now find myself beating the bank with a jig much of the time, but I always have a tx rigged worm tied on and ready to go.- How To Drop Shot

Cyacnba, during really windy days a heavier jig is a must! Might as well forget about line watching in those conditions.- Fall Fishing Tips After A Cold Front
I have been catching them just like I would fish for them in the summer, in shallow cover! Water temp read 53 degrees last sunday. The night before the outside temp was 28 late night. Using summer baits like tx rigged worms, craws, and jigs! Have been getting some pretty decent fish too, 4,5 and a couple 6 pounders! Don't know how much longer this will keep up, but they are still hitting hard, and I'll keep on casting until hell freezes over with 3 feet of ice! I don't really like throwing spinnerbaits or crankbaits if I don't have to. I seem to catch them on those, don't get me wrong. I just feel like I get some better fish with the before methods. I don't get why so many thing you read tell you to put away the summer baits and get out the moving baits, because if I did that, I wouldn't be catching half the fish I am if I followed those rules.- Favorite Chunk Trailers For Under $3
Berkley Pit boss chunk, Net bait paca chunk, and the Zoom chunks have always worked great for me!- Go To Brands For Plastics
It all depends what type of soft plastic, and what it's going on to me. For instance, a stick bait wacky rigged or tx rigged I like yamamoto senko, for big jig trailer on jigI like havoc pit boss or bruiser baits craw. For a compact craw on jig I like netbait paca, or zoom chunk. For tx rigged swimbaits, I like yum money minnows. For punching I like a missile baits d bomb. It really depends on the hook type I'm shooting for!!- New Jigs Arrived
Yep, went out again today with the siebert jig, and caught me a nice 6lb 2oz, and some small bass. These jigs are quickly becoming my go to. As for the post above^ I would try an arky head for the brush (only one I tried in trees, and works great for me) or of course the brush jig, I'm sure it's awesome, but have not tried it..... Yet! As for rocky bottoms, a football jig is hard to beat. Good luck out there, and you will never regret these jigs!- New Jigs Arrived
Jigs performed flawlessly. Used the dock rocker. Came through the brush and dock structure with ease. Caught 5 bass on the jig. Big fish was 5 pounds, others were between 2 to 4. Paint is the most durable I've ever seen! Smacked into the corner of docks a few times, lead dented, and paint dented with it, did not flake at all!! Skips very nicely as well, and hook is great! Highly recommend these jigs!- Favorite Fall Baits
Jig and pig or trailer in shallow cover like downed trees or docks. All day every day!!!- New Jigs Arrived
Yep, just got my jigs as well, yesterday. They are all top notch, as stated by members that have some. I chose to try some dock rockers, and some arkies this time around. Will post an update when I get out to fish, and try them out on some hog bass, possibly tomorrow on one of my favorite lakes! Very very nice jigs, and very good price as well, and shipped pretty fast!! Thanks Siebert for offering these great jigs!- Lures
Jigs in shallow cover!! Still poundin them up north, and big girls too. Water temp getting to the mid to lower 60's already. Wont be long and it will be -30 below zero air temp, with 3 ft of ice covering the lakes, then its a bass fishing game over. Oh the joys of living in Minnesota!- Trokar Tk130 Flipping Hook
I quit using using them, because the point is like a razor. Sure I agree it is a very good penetrating hook, but I have lost Many big fish trying to pull them from cover. Every one I have seen rips a big hole in the fish's mouth if there is side pressure (fighting the fish.). When you get the fish out of the water, the hook comes right out, because it's loose because of the hole it just tore....- What Kind Of Rig To Have A Plastic Worm Swimming 1-2Ft Subsurface?
What kind of setup are you using, line, rod, reel? It would really help a lot and possibly point out the answer.- What Kind Of Rig To Have A Plastic Worm Swimming 1-2Ft Subsurface?
Throw it on a spinning rod weightless with braid! You will be able to cast far and no backlash. Don't think a spinning rod wont be able to do what you want, it WILL do it for sure!- Question About A Jig
Remember, a jig can basically be used in about any circumstance or condition, depending on how well you know them and what works where. For brands, I have been using a lot of all terrain tackle a.t. jigs, booyah brush jigs, as well as terminator and have had good luck with all of them. Most are purchased at local stores, which is few by the way. The reason I buy them from the local store is because I lose them all the time. When I get low I buy more. I try my hardest to get it to that spot where no man has gotten before. Sometimes you pull out a hog, and believe me, sometimes its easier to get your jig back out from way back there if you have a fish on. If no bite, you'll never see your jig again. That's the way I like to use them. If you aint loosing it you aint using it!! I'll trade a $3 jig anyday for many of the fish I have caught on them, and I would never want my money back. I usually lose about 2 or 3 jigs every single time out, but I really try to save them as best I can, and probably do so at least 80% of the time.- Pitch And Flipping Spinning Rod.... Help!!!!
Pitching works pretty decently on a spinning rod, I have done it in a pinch. I prefer baitcast much better for the mentioned techniques, just because I am much more accurate with casting gear, and can pitch much faster and get the bait out there many more times then I could with a spinning setup in a given amount of time. If your looking for a spinning pitch setup, I would look for a medium heavy rod, many medium heavys are different than others, and not as stout. You want a stiffer, more stout rod for these techniques, and look for something in the 7' range should cover most of the basic needs.- Bps's Senko Price Increase
My local Gander Mountain had them for about $5 a pack advertised as "Everyday Low Price", which is not cheap, but the cheapest around the area. I was buying them all spring and summer from there, when I went back in and seen they were $8 a pack now. At least they finally re filled the selection now, there were about 3 different colors left last I looked, and they weren't in a hurry to re stock, I go in there weekly!!- Spro Frog Line Tie
I know Gamakatsu makes a double ewg frog hook, I would think it would work for your frog, but don't know for sure which size frog you have. I have seen some at Walmart before, but never lost the hooks out of any of my frogs to replace them with. http://www.*.com/Gamakatsu-Hooks-EWG-Frog-p/gamakatsu-hooks-ewgfrog.htm A picture for reference. - Megabass Jerkbait Fishing Questions
