  1. Broke my PB a bunch of times this week. This is my new PB. 9lbs 13oz, only 3 ounces short of the elusive double digit. February 2nd, 2017
  2. Pop tarts are my snack for when I'm on the boat. I usually have some Gatorade and always water.
  3. Crowded lake, non-boaters infesting the boat launch then looking at you sideways as you try to launch your boat around them....not like it's a boat launch or anything.
  4. Rapala Skitter Walk. In 2016 it was responsible for my 2 best numbers days, and it caught my biggest fish of the year. As a result, it's become my favorite top water bait.
  5. Do bass, with no fisherman involved, reject an actual feeding opportunity based on the color of that food? For example, will a bass reject eating a real live yellow perch due to its "perch pattern"? Obviously perch are common forage for bass, but are there situations where something like this would happen? Just something worth considering in this debate. Lots of good arguements on either side going on.
  6. Yordano Ventura was the opposing starting pitcher for Marté's last MLB game. They didn't face each other though, Ventura had already been pulled when Marté pinch-hit in the 9th. Wild.
  7. 6'6" Medium power, fast action casting rod 7:1 casting reel 12lb monofilament
  8. I can't believe another young talent in the MLB has died. Yordano Ventura from the KC Royals was killed in a car crash at age 25.
  9. I think it started before that.... One doesn't need a book to feel compassion or empathy, or to try to see the world through the eyes of others.
  10. Dude, nice! Time to start an online store!
  11. Are my local Walmarts the only ones on the planet that don't have their own brand of fishing tackle? Never in my life have I seen a "Walmart spinner bait". I've seen spinner baits at Walmart, but they are name brands that are sold at every other store that sells tackle. It always confused me when people mention "cheap Walmart" fishing gear. Every bit of tackle at my local Walmart is name-brand.
  12. I believe these are referred to as Eastern Hellbenders in NYS. I had a buddy who caught one a few years back and he misidentified it as a snakehead.
  13. Doubt it, even fish have better taste in music than Kid Rock.
  14. I don't say anything when I see it, usually. It's rarely worth the possible issue that can arise from confronting someone about their behavior. So aside from quietly stewing over it for hours and thinking about what I'd like to happen to these litterers, I will pick up some trash if it is in my path. I'm not bringing huge bags and cleaning the whole d**n boat launch or bank, but if I'm in my boat and a piece of trash floats by, I will absolutely pick it up and despose of it. Not many things get me more passionate than the topic of littering. I fish a lot in the mountains and can avoid trash-filled lakes sometimes, but I also do a lot of urban fishing. These are the spots that are trashed beyond belief. Littering is one of the most selfish, scummy things one can do in my opinion. To the people who use the excuse "but everybody else does it too", then the some advice I have for you is to try being part of the solution, not the problem. Littering is sad, as are EVERYBODY who partakes in it. Yep!!
  15. My best day on the water in 2016 was part of a weekend fishing trip. I was staying on a 500 acre lake in the mountains in early June, and the top water bite was on fire. I was getting hits on almost every cast with a Rapala Skitter Walk. I was catching multiples in a row, sometimes on 5 consecutive casts. The biggest was around 3 pounds, but the way they were jumping in the boat was incredible.
  16. Rapala Skitter Walk Storm Chug Bug Megabass Pop Max
  17. I'm too young to have watched Pistol Pete in his day, but I've certainly seen enough of his highlights to have a real appreciation for his game. My favorite type of player is one that can dish the rock, and not many people could dish it out better than Maravich. I know he's considered by some to be the best ever shooting guard, but not having seen him live I would have guessed he was a point guard based on his passing ability alone. Takes a special kind of player to be a dominant scorer and a willing and excellent passer.
  18. There are a few goals I have every year. These are: -Become proficient in a new technique -less bassless outings (only 1 in 2016 that wasn't shortened by rain out of 50+ outings.) -catch a new PB -catch a bass at a new body of water
  19. Rapala Skitter Walk on a cold, foggy September morning.
  20. Fixed that for ya
  21. @slonezp - I give that a 9. I love the song, and this is another great rendition. mine:
  22. Throwing a Rapala Skitter Walk on a foggy morning before the sun is up is as good as it gets for me.
  23. 10" Culprit ribbon tail
